Hi there! For the strokes I use the Vegas plugin in After Effects. You can make Vegas strokes follow any mask or shape path so it is very flexible. For the colour twitching I use the Twitch plugin from Video Copilot. Alternatively, you can use the Hue/Saturation effect and keyframe the colour changes manually but that can get a little bit tedious. To make the strokes really stand out I used the CC Light Rays effect and placed the light rays along the Vegas paths so that when the strokes intersect with the light it creates that FLASH! This is a Syrufit song though, Ayakura Mei sang for Syrup Confiture too, and their songs were in general much calmer than Alstroemeria's
