As someone who is writing a Christian book, this video was super helpful to ask myself those questions about my own writing!
I sooooo appreciate your genuine book reviews. I’ve been frustrated at UA-camrs who review all books at 5/5 so no one is upset that there were aspects of popular books they didn’t like.
So glad I found your channel! I appreciate your critique on books and watched your recommendations for worthwhile books to read. Thank you for bringing a Christian perspective on popular books and giving direction to those of us who don’t want to waste time.😊
Thank you for saving me time and money! I feel like many of the books in the Christian living section are self-help, thin and/or bad theology, and not good for me! I so appreciate you, Faith!🙏❤️💕
Love this video. Currently I am participating in a discipleship group. Between scripture reading and assigned books to read and discuss I don't have much time for other readings.
This is the first video I’ve watched of you and I lived it. Thanks! My book probably wouldn’t have measured up either but we’re all growing and my next one will hopefully be better ❤️
You just saved me time on reading this! Idk everyone but I'd love to see more "debunking" popular Christian authors/books. Any recommendations on books to help grow your faith and in our walk with God? Other than the bible of course 😉
Faith, you rock. Happy Friday 🥰 These are some of my favorite videos of yours. Love your honesty on the books and happy you kept pushing through and put the video out. Cheers!
haha! I totally toss the covers! and dog ear pages! love your channel, thank you
Oooooh you throw the paper part away? 😮 I am processing this info 😂
Thank you for the video you do a great job with your videos. I enjoy watching them
I really missed your book reviews!!
Thank you for this. I spend much of my reading time with Christian books, and it’s difficult to find those that are actually making me grow and think and do more research.
one of the best Christian books I've ever read is Promises in the Dark, Walking with Those in Need Without Losing Heart by Eric McLaughlin... a short and powerful and very theologically sound book!!
Books that make the Christian best-seller lists are pretty much always going to be fluff-and-feel-good-coffee-table fodder. Profound Biblical wisdom doesn't typically come to us from that genre of books.
Thank you for the reviews. I found it helpful, especially on the Terkuerst book. I ordered a Bible Study book by her that's en route, 30 Days with Jesus. When I get it, I'll see about setting up a camera for a review.
Oh thank you so much, I love your approach to the book reviews. I am super careful what I read, because there's already too much non Godly things in front of me everyday, no need to willingly read something doesn't enhance my walk with Jesus.
you are awesome. I loved your thorough analysis of these books for someone who is still immature in their walk or don't have any good Christian leaders in their life to understand that NOT everything in the Christian category of books is ACTUALLY going to be of Christ or helpful to their spiritual growth.
I'm not a massive reader in the first place, I find it quite exhausting to have to read (even with reading inside my head). I even struggle to consistently read the Bible. I have my ups, where I'm reading a lot in one week. Then, other weeks I struggle to have that discipline 😭. I definitely am grateful that I can listen to the Bible on audio; it's a godsend. I love people reading things back to me, especially a mans voice, as it is a glimpse into feeling like if it was, Jesus, reading to me 🥰. I have always been cautious in what Christian literature I should read. But, this year I have wanted to buy four Christian books and a couple of non-Christian books. I want to be more intentional about reading.
Great reviews! Thanks for the video much needed and appreciated
You did such an excellent job here. You seem to understand the requirements of book review. Your scholarship as apparent. This has been my experience as well.
I read Breem's previous book, "Women of the Bible Speak," when it came out, and I enjoyed it. I felt like it brought some of the people in the Bible to life for me, and I found myself relating to them. Back then, I didn't own a commentary set of my own, and I still don't really care for footnoting my Bible notes with scholarly footnotes, so it doesn't bother me at all that she didn't footnote her cross-references. I mean, I've owned several bibles that cross-reference OT and NT verses, and I've always considered that common knowledge and public domain. She's well versed in the Bible and absolutely could have made that same realization herself without some man having written it before. So yeah, it's not a scholarly work, but she never claimed it is. It's a light read for women who, like me at the time, would like some Biblical Christian living application, not a dry commentary.
Okay, so after hearing your review of Faulkner's book, I kind of see the disconnect here. You looked up the four best-selling books in a category, but that doesn't tell much of the story of why the books are popular. Most books that I've ordered and read in the last year are written by people who maybe have a UA-cam channel or a blog. It just makes sense that a blogger isn't going to have the reach of someone who is literally on TV five days a week. Like, my FIL watches Faulkner's show every weekday. These books are also very often given as gifts. So, my husband knows that I like Faulkner and I enjoy books about Christian living, so he might buy it for me for Mother's Day because he noticed me looking at it while we were in line at Hobby Lobby or something. It's basically on the level of Chicken Soup for the Soul, and both of those FN books are easy to grab in line while buying journaling supplies and listening to instrumental praise. It says more about marketing than what people really want to read.
I'm not saying I can think of a better way to judge what Christian women are reading, maybe looking at reviews on ChristianBook, or maybe sticking to the actual Bible Study category. I'd be interested to hear what you think about Mama Bear Apologetics.
Thank you! God bless you and your family!!! Try reading Kevin Zadai books ❤️🙏
I love these videos! I also appreciate you doing Good Boundaries and Goodbyes. I’m half way through this one currently.
What you think about it? I’m considering reading it as I might be getting divorced.
Thank you for your honesty, your videos are so wonderful.
Thank you for your reviews.
I am a fan of Lois Tvernerg and believe her influence has allowed me to seek more of the same types of works.
Psalms 42:1
It is as my eyes have finally opened and I can see and hear the word of G-d.
I absolutely remove the paper cover! However, I can't dog ear the pages. I use sticky notes; it marks the page and gives me a place to write my thoughts about it.
I like the sticky notes idea!
Have you done a video on recommended books? I’d love to see one.
Thank you for reading them. Now I won't be tempted to do so. I'm just not into several branches of current Christian culture anyway. You didn't sound mean. You just said your true opinion in light of Scripture.
I don’t know where you got that list, but I know better books came out in 2022 (although, I’m drawing a blank right now as to titles! 🤦🏼. Showing my age! ). But, I do appreciate your thoughts on these books because so many read these books because they are on the list and do not know how to discern what might be a bit from the truth.
Haha I am the same way with the paper cover on hardbacks!! It’s got to go!! 👋🏼
Thank you for reviewing these books , so many say Christian books but aren't to me even close.
100% Agreed!
This is Spiritual warfare in media. This is why I am writing a book series about getting into a relationship with Jesus and our God.
Would you consider reading and doing a review for us of the book Great Controversy, by Ellen G. White? Would like to know if you think this book is worth reading.
Sort of wonder if part of the reason so many popular Christian living books these days are "positive" and "feel good" are a result of hyper-legalism from purity culture, hypocrisy in the church, and shame-based parenting. Just my two cents! Legalism was the popular strain of Christianity for quite a while, and this is a repercussion of that.
I always throw book sleeves away.
Being in the top ten does not mean they are actually well written and thoughtful. The only Christian bookstore I go to is at Regent College at the University of British Columbia. Smaller stores often carry very shallow material, some of which is dangerous.
6:13 Tbh i would think setting boundaries like Jesus wouldnt seem wrong. Case example theres a point where Jesus to pharaphrase says something thats along the lines of “you wont listen to me so why would I bother to tell you anything” type of situation or mood.
This scene is when he is being hit and ridiculed by his own people, so it should be the trial with Ciapias ( I think? Also no idea on spelling) but the scene is between the garden and the trial with pilate. And they basically want him to confess that hes the son of God and he indicates, I have told you these things etc.
No that might not seem obvious on why I mentioned that, but when you look at the situation from a response / attitude end it becomes clear that even Jesus accounted there are times its not worth saying something to someone. Kind of like Theres no point if someones not going to listen.
Now you read the book in depth and maybe her point didnt come across like that. Yet on the breif mention it doesn’t quite sound wrong but I think I got your point too. To me her statment brings to mind if we are looking to examples of scripture and if it seems simuliar to what Jesus did.
I very SELDOM read popular Christian books, they almost always are watered down or downright unbiblical. I don’t want a lukewarm faith, I want a full and biblical faith. I also usually steer clear of books written specifically for women for the same reason. They tend to be fluff nonsense pieces, of course there are exceptions, but I feel bad for the average woman in the church in the west today and how lukewarm her faith would be if she gleans from the likes of “Girl, Wash Your Face” and books in that vein.
Can you recommend any books for a new Christian?
Have you read ‘Stop Worrying’ by Troy Black?
The setting boundaries book was not relatable at all unless you are going through a divorce or a break up I didn’t like it it was just too specific I gave it 1 star review on Amazon
The irony of writing a Christian living book while divorcing your spouse. Hehe. Not judging, just made me laugh.
I just believe in John 3:16 and not Calvinism. Jesus died for ALL; no it's up to me to accept His redemptive work on the cross.
Bleah. Your walk with Christ? Okay, I'm out of here. Thanks for the tip.
I don’t read Christian living. I only have time to read scripture and commentary at this season of my life. Sounds like I’m not missing much.
You have to be very cautious at who you read. There are too many authors who don't actually write about Christianity. But your attitude sounds very limiting. You have missed some good material.
There are other Christian books out there that aren't the self-help variety that I don't think were mentioned. My favourites were "This Present Darkness" by Frank Peretti, a fictional story but highlights the spiritual realities that surround us without our knowledge. Also, back in the 80s - 90s, I really liked reading books on Bible prophecy, Grant Jeffery was a good author in that genre.
RC Sproul , Charles spurgeon, smith wiggles worth ! Some of my favorite literature authors !!!! You should check them out
Thanks you so much for this faith! I’m still a teenager and I often look at “Christian” books and studies and really wonder if they’ve somehow missed Christ because it’s just so self-help centered. I often wonder if I’m the only one who has a problem with our shallow songs and books but your channel reminds me their are others looking for more.
Well, if you want something challenging. Stick to John Owen, John Bunyan, Jonathon Edwards, Thomas Brooks, Matthew Mead, Spurgeon... You're right; who wants to wade around in the shallows when you can jump in at the deep end in seeking Christ!
God bless!
Thank you so much for the recommendations! God bless!
Thank you for taking the time to do this so we don't waste time on things not worth our time 😬
Currently reading Jen Wilkins Women of the Word while simultaneously reading the Bible from the beginning for the first time. It's been a game changer. Love Jen Wilkins, I also read her book In His Image. Lovely as well.
Jen Wilkins isn’t milk for sure! Loved that book
Thank you for doing this video!! I love that you're showing and teaching how to be critical when reading others books especially when its labeled as "Christian". It's so easy to get turned away from Scripture and believe something that's not biblical. 💙💙💙
I completely agree with you. Because of the hype, I read Mothers and Daughters of the Bible and found it ridiculously mundane. I also read another book by Lysa Terkuest and was shocked at how little faith was in it vs. working thru her own issues. Seemed more like a therapy session. It's all watered down, feel good Christianity.
Lysa Terkeuest has very little discernment when it comes to Christian living. Most of her books are like a therapy session because it seems that’s where she gets most of her material for her books. Very little from the Word itself.
@@aungele3 agreed!!!!!
Ty for this video! Personally, I wouldn't have picked up these books. I'm extremely wary of Lysa and Shauna's beliefs as they are not rooted in Scripture. But your review was enjoyable to listen to and I'm so happy you encourage Christians to think critically about what they're consuming. Some things under the guise of "Christian" are just secular thinking in sheep's clothing. We don't need to be a part of the blind leading the blind when we have the light of God's Word to guide us.
I am so glad to have found you. I love the way you speak truth with love and a solid foundation of scripture.
The book that blew my mind (it actually helped "renew my mind") in the last year was "Openness Unhindered" by Rosaria Butterfield. I found it contains solid critical thoughts that were cited (scholarly -- the author is one which helps). I agree with your thoughts on these books. I prefer books with more 'meat' in them else I'll spiritually 'starve'. I'm enjoying your channel :)
Please, Please, Please watch The Chosen and do a video on your perspective. I just recently happened upon your channel and have been fascinated by your view and passion.
Thank you so much, Faith!! I write book reviews of Christian books on a devotional magazine, and how you read books with principles helped me how I personally can read books and how I can write reviews too! You are such a blessing ❤
This was a really good video and I highly encourage you to do this more often. Thank you . 🙂🌺
Lysa’s book Good Boundaries and Goodbyes probably saved my life last year from a very abusive “Christian” husband. I liked your points about God and boundaries but I think overall she handled it really well in the book. God doesn’t want wives to be abused mercilessly by their husbands and keep forgiving, that’s a distortion of the message of the cross to give us freedom from sin and bondage. I pray this helps someone ❤
What about a review of Christian living that are good? I want to see top books in a few categories...
Lysa Turkurst is a false teacher. For a few reasons. She also capitalizes on her husbands infidelity. With her books and podcasts she doesn’t miss a beat between him cheating on her and their divorce. She seems to have no regard for his soul. Which his very sad.
I'm curious about that Lysa TerkHurst book, because I know she was divorcing her husband a few years ago for cheating on her and refusing to give up his mistress, but then he had a complete change of heart and they got remarried. How old is that book?
*edited*
Nope. Looks like they divorced again. That's too bad.
That says alot about her theology. Sounds like Deuteronomy 24:1-4 to me.
I read Forgiving What You Can’t Forget, and I had to Google her. I had no idea about any of this either. It’s sad
it's the newest - he never changed.I read somewhere that he thought renewing their vows would annul the prenup. I've honestly found all of her books pretty much the same but I keep reading them LOL!
Good video! I'm very busy with bible studies and just fully diving into the word. I'm glad I'm not missing much 😂. Our ladies ministry is working through Blackaby's revised Experiencing God study right now. We have grown so much in our relationship with Christ and with each other. If you ever have time, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this study. 🥰
I feel like this is bubblegum pop versus one of Mozart’s symphonies. Both are music and you can dance to them, but one has depth and nuance and stands the test of time and one will be unheard of in 5 years, except for maybe a car commercial. I had to stop reading Christian living books because I truly felt like I was wasting my time. I will stick to the scriptures and the tested commentaries.
I’m with you. I wouldn’t throw away just the paper book covers but also what’s inside the book cover. All 4!
please do more of these
and teach me how to be critical 🙃
Enjoying your videos and wondering what denomination you are. Do you have a video with more information on the seminary you attend, your faith etc. Thank you for all the great videos
Thank you so much, Faith. So helpful. Would Love for you to do a review on “Jude” by Jackie Hill Perry.
Here is a positive take to you "waste of time" comment: these books caused you to stretch and exercise your critical thinking, and understanding of Biblical truth. I sometimes listen to people that i know are ify just to see if anything has changed, to check my own understanding, and to see if i can argue the points made biblically. I dont think you wasted your time. You were able to practice discernment which just caused your faith roots to grow deeper and become more secure. Lisa Turkist (sorry for the botched spelling!) Is out of Elevation Church with Steven Furtick. So that should give you a better understanding of her background. I personally shy away from "popular" Christian reading because it tends to be too feel good. I like the more acedemic reads that make me chew on things for a while.
I enjoyed your video quit a bit! I also struggle with Christian books bc they do have a shallowness to them. But these videos are also hard bc if I don’t agree with Calvinist view, or visa versa, a lot of time they turn into bashing. And while you brought up your theology outlook you don’t seem to have the typical “your are lesser” than attitude! I love that so much! When I begin looking for for book recommendations on UA-cam in this category I had no idea the rabbit hole that can consume people. This was refreshing and I look forward to checking out more of your videos!!
I think a lot of new age / new thought has sprinkled into the Christian Living genre.
I didn’t understand the comments on the first book when you said she must have obtained things from others without proof. I think it’s a weird assumption to make- you basically accused her of plagiarism, without proof. Why would you make that assumption when you admit to not knowing her? Is the assumption that she couldn’t have come to these conclusions on her own? Either you articulated your reasons unclearly or you had no reasons and I would check that.
I said there were no citations. So, either she made it up, or took it from someone.
“I’m not going to say I got this from Shannon Bream because I know Shannon probably got it from someone else.”- I’m a writer and that sounds like saying, Shannon didn’t come up with that. That’s a sensitive thing to just put out there without context is all I’m saying. I didn’t think it was responsible to casually throw that out there without any proof, and I was seeking clarification on why it was you said it, because I thought I missed something
Wonderful video! I'm gonna need a downloadable PDF of the points in this video for future reference. Lol. 😆
LOVED this video! So fun to hear your take on these books. When you mentioned setting boundaries during the comments on the second book, it made me very curious about your thoughts on the book Boundaries (by Cloud & Townsend). I noticed it on your shelf during your book tour (which I totally loved by the way!). THANK YOU SO MUCH for your love and adherence to the authority of Scripture as our foundation! ❤️ Learning so much from you...blessings!
I would love to know her thoughts on this book as well
I thought the same!
I didn’t know you were a Calvinist!
Hey Faith, thank you for the book reviews, quite helpful❤️🔥
Have you read Oswald Chambers' books? Like 'My Utmost for His Highest'.
Oh my Faith, I am really enjoying following you. I’m quite a new follower. You are such a breath of fresh air :). I don’t want to put labels on denominations but it’s easier to for this context - I was saved in a very Pentecostal and charismatic church, left and then ended up in a Calvinist reformed church. I went from one extreme of Christianity to the other and I have had such a hard time trying to find a balance. Now I’m taking a step back and trying to figure out my faith and as a masters student, aspiring to study a pdh, I do like to read and study so I’m often reading or craving information from others. I feel like you are such a BALANCED inspiration for me. I love what you talk about. You share similar interest and concern. You are very polite and thoughtful of what you say, you are honest but not harsh. You set a great example to follow. I love what you said about boundaries with Lysa’s book!
My husband and I did the same swinging from one extreme to the other in churches. We really like our current ELCA church.
I read a lot. And I haven’t read any of those. Oftentimes the most popular are just the most advertised. I want real books that teach me about God.
Thank you for this video. I’d love a series of it.
This video was so good!!!!! You made SOOO many good points, and left me thinking about everything I read, watch, listen to. Which I know is always your point. But I fall flat sometimes, and I need to get better about that. I love when you do these types of videos. Please keep them coming. Lol
Hey, I totally relate. These videos are for me too. I don’t like what I say in them a lot of the time because it makes me realize some of my favorite songs, books, etc maybe I should re-evaluate. We are all learning together!
Love your channel....fairly new...Bible obsessed for years and now know that I am not alone
i like reading classic literature more than modern stuff, but I do read some modern books too
I would LOVE for you to read Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands by Paul David Tripp and share your thoughts on it. By far, the most impactful book on my Christian life outside of the the Bible. :-)
Thank you for your reviews! It's rare to see someone that really cares and theology... And MEAT. I want to GROW. LoL let's get off the milk already!
I love your honesty with the reviews of these books. Thanks for sharing!! I just recently finished an amazing book. Dangerous Jesus by Kevin “KB” Burgess
I like Christian author Priscilla Shirer.
I didn’t know Lysa T. had connections to elevation 😔
I suspect at some point when your kiddos are older you'll be writing your own book, Faith.
Thank you for wasting your time for us! I usually don’t want to spend time reading other books, bc I want more time to read my Bible. This confirms that what’s popular isn’t necessarily good.
Stumbled across your channel and this is the content I need!
Faith, your judgment of the last book (the one with the cool font) is the same judgment I had regarding the book. Just thought that was funny! Plus, the title definitely gives a sense of subjectivism / liberal / new age ideology.
Hi Faith! Thank you for this video. I love books, so I really was looking forward to this for recommendations. Sadly, none seemed to be great lol (love an honest review!). Any suggestions on theologically sound books that you have read in the past and love? Would love to hear about any classic theological books you love as well!
Yes! I linked a few that I mention a lot in my videos in the description
@@HowtoFaithALife thanks so much!
I always throw the paper away, too. I dislike the silly paper covers. Yes, they are pretty, but they always get torn and get in the way when trying to read the book. I used to try and keep them for after I read the book, but they would always get lost or destroyed.
Great content Faith! My favorite Christian read of last year was Tim Keller's Forgive book.
Thanks for the rec. My library it seems has lots of his books. Put one on hold.
I think you are missing the point on some of this books. Working through trauma in your personal life is difficult. God used the book Present over perfect to really show me areas were I needed to let go and draw closer to him. Sometime the writers job is to tell their story and point to Jesus, letting the Holy Spirit do the rest.
It really is a shame what’s considered “Christian genre” anymore. I wouldn’t read half the books in that section of a store 😅 why aren’t Ortlund and Wiersbe at the top of that list 😂 you’re very right. Most popular Christian books or people in general promote a shallow religion or a version of Jesus they create for their own gain.
It doesn’t bother me to take the dust jacket off the book when I’m reading it, but I would never throw it away. When I put that bad boy on the shelf, I want that dust jacket in place.
Wow! Your closing comments were outstanding! Thank you.
Most Christian books these days are centered around self-help, self-improvement, self-reflection, self healing, ect.....Because most of modern Christianity is about self not about God, so very few Authors actually write about Him nor do they really know His Word. But as 2 Timothy 4:3 says that the time would come that the Church would not be able to endure sound doctrine, so THEY(not the false teachers) would draw false teachers to themselves in accordance with their own desires.
If you want to be the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13) or a light to the World (Matthew 5:14-16) then you first must live a life like Christ and what did His life look like? Well at Matthew 5:10-12 seems to be the prerequisite for those that are truly the definition of Matthew 5:13-16.....In Matthew 16 Jesus calls Peter 'satan" for not accepting the work of the cross in Jesus' life. Peter rebuked Jesus for telling him that Jesus would go to the cross and Peter did it with total love in his heart for Jesus...What he said to Jesus was motivated from pure love...and yet Jesus called him 'satan?'
Jesus then goes on to tell His Disciples that if anyone wants to come after Him that they must, 1) deny themselves(What would most modern Christian Authors do if self was not a center focus?) 2)take up your own cross (do modern American Christians know the difference between laying down your own life and separately taking up your own cross?)...and 3) then we can follow Him.....Matthew 7:13-29 explains how many that thought they were Christians will implore Jesus that they were His very own, and He will say to them, "depart from me, you who practice lawlessness, I never knew you."
There have been some great Christian authors in history but every single book they wrote was about God and His Word, understanding that if we abide in Christ and His Word abides in us, then we will bear much fruit and the Vine Dresser(The Father) will prune the garbage off of us as we are abiding in Him. If we stop abiding then we dry up and die spiritually and eventually we will die in every other way as well.....Pretty simple actually.
Also I will add that I have had experience with some modern Christian Authors and many of them got their great spiritual revelations through another Christian who really does hear from God, either they read it some where, they know somebody who has a lot of revelation but doesn't publish their stuff, or they flat out just stole it(Jeremiah 23:30)....There is a reason that in normal conversation they are pretty standard and then suddenly they are posting snippets of spiritual revelation that are on a higher spiritual level.
Please read a Jackie hill perry book as well
Part 2/2
Ken Johnson is an expert on Early Christian history and the Dead Sea Scrolls. In his book "The end times by the Ancient Church Father's" he documents their writings. You can disagree with his commentary but he includes a lot of the writings.
Barnabas, AD First Century
“Therefore, children, in six days, or in six thousand years, all the prophecies will be fulfilled. Then it says, ‘He rested on the seventh day.’ This signifies at the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus, He will destroy the Antichrist, judge the ungodly, and change the sun, moon, and stars. Then He will truly rest during the Millennial reign, which is the seventh day.” Epistle of Barnabas 15:7-9
Commodianus, AD 240
“We will be immortal when the six thousand years are completed.” Against the Gods of the Heathens 35 “Resurrection of the body will be when six thousand years are completed, and after the one thousand years, the world will come to an end.” Against the Gods of the Heathens 80
Victorinus, AD 240
“Satan will be bound until the thousand years are finished; that is, after the sixth day.” Commentary on Revelation 20.1-3
Methodius, AD 290
“In the seventh millennium we will be immortal and truly celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.” Ten Virgins 9.1
Johnson, Ken. The End-Times by the Ancient Church Fathers (p. 11-12).
So we have a number of references talking about 6 days or 6000 years and then Jesus will return and the 7th day we will be immortal.
If we take the genealogies from Adam to Jesus we get about 4004 BC

But here is where studying your Bible helps. In Genesis 7-8 we have the flood account.
Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened." 2nd Month 17th Day. Genesis 8: 3 And the waters receded continually from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days (150 days)the waters decreased. 4 Then the ark rested in the seventh month, the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat." 7th Month, 17th Day. (5 months later =150 days means each month is 30 days) So let's assume the OT used a 360-day biblical calendar.
That means from Adam to Jesus was 3,946 years. Then from Jesus to us today is 2023 years.
That equals 5,969 years.
So applying the 6000 theory -0-1000 Day 1, 1000-2000 Day 2, 2000-3000 Day 3, 3000-4000 Day 4, 4000-5000 Day 5, 5000-5969 is 31 years shy of 6000.
Now Jesus says in Matthew 24:22 In fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened, not a single person will survive. But it will be shortened for the sake of God’s chosen ones." Now does this mean He will cut these years shorter and not 31?
We'll have to wait and see but how many global issues do we have today that there is legitimate fear over our self-extinction? WW3, AI, the collapse of America and the West, and the rise of China?
There are other examples in the Word like the 6000-year/6-day understanding but I wanted to share it to get us thinking about what is the LORD doing? What is His plan? Does this mean we need to fear? No. If this is correct and the LORD is moving then He will do what He will do, if these things begin to happen then my job is to share with you the hope in Jesus and help you to not be afraid. If we can have a bit of a roadmap from Scripture then we won't be surprised wondering "what is the LORD doing?" I hope those helps. Take care.
❤❤❤love these reviews❤❤❤

I can’t read a book with its jacket on, but I also can’t throw them out! I envy your freedom. 😂 Great stuff.
Love finding Christian books to read.
Heh, I assumed the Fox News books would be all about prosperity gospel stuff. So shallow and not citing their sources is at least better than I expected 😅
