Hi Friends, I am Anshul Tiwari 👨‍🏫, and welcome to your youtube channel "IT k Funde" where we make I.T. interesting for everyone (Tech or No-Tech).
In this video, we will install a free proxy server (tinyproxy) on a Ubuntu VM deployed on the Google cloud platform, this tutorial is a step-by-step instruction and can be applied on any other cloud such as aws azure etc with some minor tweaks.
We will install and configure proxy on a google cloud VM and then use the proxy from our laptop.
Below are the steps we will implement in this demo tutorial -
1 - Create a Linux (Ubuntu) Vm on Google Cloud (This can be any other cloud like AWS or Azure)
2- Install Tinyproxy on the VM (Tinyproxy is a small, efficient HTTP/SSL proxy daemon released under the GNU General Public License.)
3- Configure tinyproxy (Proxy config & Firewall ports)
4- Configure Laptop internet connection to use tinyproxy
5- Validate if the traffic is going via the proxy

This is virtually not a free proxy. Of course you can install proxy program on gcp server for free, but if you start to use the proxy google will charge you for the network egress traffic. This is not even free for free-tier google compute engine, as paying for the cloud resource and paying for the network traffic are different matter.
