M9 News Journalist Nishant sat with HanuMan Hero Teja Sajja ahead of the release of his Pan-India film on January 12th.
"I am always nervous because I know the value of a chance. I am always nervous because it is important to make it count. But I am so involved in the journey that I am not enjoying the process," Teja said.
We asked him about the film's Pan-India prospects.
"We wrote a Telugu script and made a Telugu film for Telugu audience. If other audience like, it is a bonus. For me, I am playing for my home ground. But I am grateful for what the film is getting now," he clearly said.
He also clarified once again that HanuMan should not be seen as an devotional film or an event film.
"We are always clear in that. HanuMan is a Super hero film. The hero has a family, friends, and love interest. The story is all about how he overcomes a problem with the support of Lord Hanuman. There is a good entertainment track and extraordinary action blocks as well. There is excellent VFX (to our standards). On top of it, there is devotional quotient as well. It is entertaining and engaging," he explained.
Teja also spoke about some people still belittling his efforts despite his best attempts, also about some in the industry trying to grab scripts that come his way, etc.
We also asked him about the allegations that HanuMan team is trying to use Gunturkaaram to stir sentiment by playing Victim Card.
"Nobody did threaten me. I do not know about what happened to Prasant Varma and others. I am fully occupied with the promotions for the last ten days. We are not playing Victim Card as you can see I did not take any names in this interview," Teja evaded the answer.
He also did not comment about HanuMan getting less than 10% theaters in Hyderabad.
We also asked him if Exhibitors giving priority to a distribution (due to continuous feeding) is business or discrimination.
We also quizzed him about why HanuMan team was given a slot to promote their film in Bigg Boss show but how it got canceled at the last minute.
