Krown is an excellent product. Used it for years. Used it on my old 2000 Celica GT and that was a daily driver. Low, the whole thing basically slopped through the snow and salt. After 13 years, and 300K, the body was still perfect. Rust Free. You may not need to do it each year. But it's a great treatment, causes zero issues and bottom line, no rust.

I have so far been rather lucky and happy with Valvoline Tectyl Underbody Coating Stuff. It smells like it's an oil based. It's definitely not black but holds good to the frame. Been using it now for 4 years on my S10 Blazer and I just touch up every year but so far so good. But definitely look forward to the spring video when you show us your truck again!
Just had my Ford escape Krowned, wasn't happy with the competition I was going to.. Krown did a great job.. my vehicule was soaked .. Thanks for the info. Eric.. keep up the great work.
I live in rhode island snack dab in the rust belt every csr I've owned has rotted out....last year I came across a 96 buick roadmaster absolutely spot free of rust...I ended up buying it and the guy told me he fluid filmed it every year from new ...the underside looks fantastic 20 years later...I make sure to use it every year
As a long time Krown user I can say it works well to preserve a car especially if applied to a new car. The only minor complaints I have are that certain rubber gaskets tend to stretch over many years of application, you still need to keep an eye on door dings and rock chips, and how greasy you get working on a krowned vehicle. Best applied in the heat of the summer as it will seep and creep better.

Eric, I've Krowned many of my cars and the only thing that bothers me is that sometimes they drill holes unnecessarily. For example, if you look at the hole they drilled into the top of your rockers - there's a plastic kick plate just inches away - if you remove that, you'll find several factory holes where they could have sprayed the product into. There are probably large rubber grommets on the bottoms of the rockers as well.
Hey Eric, great video, hope u see my comment. I have a '01 Explorer Limited wich i bough for $3300 3 yrs ago. It was well looked after and i look after them too, but as u know they are prone to rust, like around the gas lid door, dog legs and tailgate. This was just starting to rust. yrs ago i was working with an old guy at a sawmill and he had a '79 F 150 that was 10 yrs old at the time and had no rust. I asked him why and he said he had a guy spray the truck with his used motor oil, so i thought why not with mine. i spray the tailgate drain holes, rockers underneith and take the ''Explorer'' step plate plastic piece off all 4 doors and spray in their and also the steel rear bumper. I do this fall and spring and so far no rust. We have a pressurized container at work that we use for wax oil for bodyshop cars not to rust, i just switch it for m oil. Been using krown up here a few hours north of you in the great white North of Ontario for over 15 years and love their product. Won't even permanently stain a paved driveway.

I'm a huge fan of Fluid Film. Looks very similar to Krown. I live in Ohio so we get a good amount of salt in the winters but definitely not as bad as your area. Fluid film has worked very well on my vehicle. I get it in the 5 gallon buckets and spray it with their pneumatic sprayer and works very well and goes a lot farther than the aerosol can does.
I got a 5 gallon as well and started spraying everything as well, worried about the vegetable-based product on rubber, and did accidently on my Mercedes bladder air ride shocks, hence why I watched this video, hoping to alleviate concerns... its non toxic , yet gives me a bit of a skin rash if I get it on my arms or stomach...
From multiple tests I’ve seen online fluid film is the best anti rust thing you can apply. I just don’t have a lift or a spray gun or I’d do it myself
I valve your honesty and your reviews so for those reasons I just ordered a case of the Krown Rustproofing products from them.
I will let you know what I think of the product when it gets here. As you are we are also in an arctic blast of cold weather, so it might be
awhile before I will be able to apply it. A GREAT VIDEO I MIGHT ADD I REALLY ENJOY THEM.
FOLLOW UP: I am surprised that Krown doesn't offer any accessories to apply their product with except using the spray cans
which you will use a lot more product to cover certain areas. You also will not get into spray rail, inside rear fenders, or any real tight
places by using the spray cans.
What I did to solve this problem I ordered the Pro spray gun that comes with the 360 degree extension, a regular extension one,
that attaches to the end of the gun and three containers from fluid film then used the Krown product with the gun. This works
really well because you can adjust the amount of spray from the gun when spraying to get that fine mist like Steve got so you won't
use a lot of product. With the extensions you will also be able to get into those real tight places too, which you can't using the spray cans.
I had "Corrosion Free" mineral oil rust preventative applied in January of 2018 to my 2001 Dodge Ram 2500. The truck had just come from Portland Oregon and had zero rust. It then went thru one of the worst winters I had lived thru in Northern Illinois and at the end of the season, the steel was dusty and blackish colored, but it was not rusted. I was impressed.
Moved from Ohio to Arizona 9 years ago, rust is a distant memory.

I got an 02 3.4l Impala and I'm getting ready to replace the back end. I figure start fresh, new new trailing arms, stabilizers, parking brake, the cradle. Already did the rotors, pads, and Moog quick struts. I noticed how bad the crusties are last month laying on my back in the freezing cold replacing a brake line section. Love this old girl.
Right on man! I just recently moved to WA from CA and Im very interested in winter PM. I couldnt afford a used Tundra so i bought my very first 4WD V8 chevy truck used as soon as i moved here and i appreciate all the winter tips i can find. Even though i like the look of this vehicle and the sound of the new exhaust system i put on it as soon as i bought it, this old truck needs all the help it can get just being a chevy im learning let alone having to deal with winter on top of it. Its a 99 silverado 1500 LS 5.3L 73k OG miles and ive already replaced and or upgraded a bunch of shit and its in great shape, but STILL it seems to have a new subtle bad noise here and there that im constantly having to chase down and fix, rediculous. @@michaelprovost5433 It's not junk, it's a solid and well tested product. Corrosion free is better. Fluid film is probably the best or among the best, but Krown isn't junk.
@@steved8714in comaparison it is. maybe if you apply it monthly it would be ok but why when you can apply fluid film once and it lasts at least a year. i guess region and conditions are a big factor also. where i live we get 300+ inches of snow every year and it lasts about 6 months. the roads are constantly salted from about the end of october to around the begining of may. it just does not hold up here.
I live in Canada and have 2006 F150 which I bought new and had krown from day 1 , I have it reapplied every year and still have no rust, my mechanic say he has never seen such a rust free frame and panels.
Krown is good stuff. I work at a Krown and the product managed to impress me.. And I've got a good eye for cars

Krown is so worth it!.... my 2001 Cherokee has been complimented almost 20yrs later!... I did Krown every summer to have the heat flow the oil to tight places which they recommended.
Krown is the way to go!...this product is absolutely amazing as long as you do it during hot months and every year!.... oil is thicker during cold months so do it during the summer months to allow spreading!.... they were so helpful and so worth $140 a year!

Krown is the way to go if you live in the Rust Belt; my rust-free ‘95 Dakota and ‘02 Camry, both of which are well over 200K miles through Michigan winters, are proof enough for me.
My car is about 10 years old. Is it too late to put on Krown? Does it have to go on when the car is new? How often does it get applied? Thank you, New Yorker here.

I have been doing this at the salem,NY location on my 2010 tacoma for several years. There is no more rust on the frame than the day I bought it. Its great piece of mind having krown treat your truck.

Like you I keep up with my preventative maintenance. The mechanic that worked on the head gasket job said he never saw such a clean undercarriage but...I'm going after some Krown because here in Northern TN we do get a bit of rust. Thanks for the follow up. I meant to ask about that when I was there but my truck breaking down took all of my attention. :)

Great product! You should take a look at my 99 Corolla...car sprayed every 3 years by Krown and still look like new.Car has endured 19 harsh winters up here in Canada.

Had my van done over one year ago ...Still brilliant ....Everything nice and greasy and no squeaks ...Has my car done years ago and just written it off...Took the towbar off and all the bolts whizzed off no problems and the towbar cleaned up really nice ...Just booking my Jaguar in today ...I swear by this stuff...Waxoyl stinks and dries...This stuff is the best I have ever seen next to Ziebart
I had my car sprayed in 2011 and its still solid as a rock after all those Pennsylvania winters. I sprayed it again last Saturday at work while on the lift doing my state inspection.
Just loosen all valve cover bolts 1/4 turn and move on. Rust free frame for life
ykmalachi I had an 85 Caprice that had leaky valve covers. No matter what I did it always leaked. The under hood and front frame was spotless. The rear quarters we're absolutely GONE lol
My '54 Ford had a downdraft tube when it still had the inline 6... factory installed rust prevention applicator.
ykmalachi Yep,that or wait until those high miles kick in. My Trailblazer has leaks galore,grease,oil,all spraying underneath, helping to rust proof. I used to rust proof,now I trade in. screw that.
I can tell you hate rust.. As you can never add to much rustproofing.. I spray with ATF...I go nuts.. Ontario vehicles rust anyway
Used motor oil sprayed in the cavity of frame works amazing... Dont spray near rubber though... Just metal

When I had a Ford Ranger, also bought used, I coated everywhere I could on the underside with Fluid Film. They sell an undercoat kit. Behind the bumpers, any exposed seams like the bottom if the tailgate, above the spare tire carrier and so on. If it works for the Navy, it works for me.

I think it looks very good and no sign of rust maggots eating. I live in the coast of Norway and the salt spray from the ocean is as bad as the stuff they spray on the roads in winter time. And we do have proper winter with ice, snowstorms, blizzards and freezing temperature. We have a large surplus of theese rust maggots

I used Krown on my Dodge Ram for about two-and-a-half to three years just like you did. My results were not good... it caked to everything well but it collected so much dirt and dust.... and I couldn't help but feel that the metal was still rusting. Like it wasn't stopping it, just speeding up the rust. That was my result though so it could be different for other people. My truck was parked on grass for about 2 years so that didn't help. I learned to never park a vehicle on grass or dirt for a time! Lol
Krown is so much better then the other brand we have here (RustCheck). It doesn't swell seals or anything else. I've seen hundreds if not a thousand or more cars with Krown and the only issue I have ever had is it creeps into some connectors and causes some issues. Once the connectors are cleaned out everything is fine. Thanks for the vids!

Any chance of an update to the Krown Rust prevention process? Would like to see how it looks after a few seasons of salt.
I ordered an International 4400 new in 2004 and had it built into a Custom Harley Barn equipped RV toter and had the whole shebang Krowned. Only did one repeat. Third owner is still amazed at absence of any rust and his service outfit cannot believe it's still rust free.
I used Krown yearly on my 2000 Safari, and the frame and body was rust free at the end..Good product. Plus they lock you in at the original price, as long a you do it every year.
How is your impression of Krown now? I haven't seen an after winter video. I am wanting to do this.

Yep...EVERYONE who lives in the "rust belt" needs to cycle their spare once per season in addition to giving it a shot of lubricant.
Yup, I had a hole in mine, right at that spot. ...and toyota recalled the whole frame.
Ive heard of people useing tranny fluid to do rust proofing, what do you think ,it seem like it would work ,i was accually thinking of deluting some and putting it in spray bottle ,but what would i use to dilute it with ,,thanks

The Krown product isn’t Petroleum based. Oil and tranny fluid is. Petroleum based products will dissolve rubber/plastic components over time since they have similar chemical structures.

I can't believe it. I was just thinking how great this would be here in the UK and there is apparently a Krown place an hour from me in Tipton of all places... I really wish I had something like that stuff 7 years ago. Would make working on my vehicle so much easier. Keep all the crust off the bolts and the suspension parts. I have some bad rust patches now.
If what you are wondering is "will the rubber seals under the hood,around the doors,etc"get kind of warped?...well the answer is yes!
I can also tell you that it will make your vehicle last longer,has no effect on your electrical connections (weather pack)either.
I have a 2009 GMC 2500 HD,I have owned it since new.I used it as a work truck for its first four years of life,I did commercial truck tires and roadside Tire service so the truck is aware of what work was!
I could send some pictures if your interested,I still have the vehicle to this day with no plans on getting rid of it.
I forgot to tell you that I am in Toronto,Ontario,Canada so it also knows what salt is as well, if you were to use the product and have your vehicle done each year it will last you a very long time.

I have had the product applied by KROWN and Rust Check their competitor only in Canada - not sure if you have Rust Check franchises in America. My 2002 2500hd has the original brake and fuel lines so getting your vehicle sprayed does work . Cheers buddy
STEVE ROB REVIEWS rust check in Watertown and Syracuse NY .the one in Watertown does a better job . I have used them both .
I prefer Rustcheck. It's less "runny", stays longer and seems to penetrate really well.
I bought a can and tested it: I released one of the bolts on my pole-mounted outdoor heater. Just half a turn (180 degrees). You couldn't even tell I unbolted it. It was still too strong to release it by hand. Then I sprayed Rust-Check on it.
Came back at spring-time, wiped everything from the outside and released the bolt completely. To my surprise, the unexposed part was fully covered with it.
How is the truck holding up now? I looked for the “after winter” follow up but couldn’t find it. Thank you for doing these videos! I almost took my car to Ziebart and you saved me from that disaster

I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia which is undoubtedly the corrosion capital of the world. We have salt 12 months of the year with 6 months of extra salt. All the major manufacturers do their corrosion testing here starting with TOYOTA in 1968. TOYOTA even had ads highlighting that fact back in the day. Having said this we tend to know how to make stuff last in the salt. A retired ironworker told me of one solution that works extremely well: Boiled Linseed oil. Apparently, in the old days, they would apply linseed oil on steel sheets to keep them from rusting. I tried it many years ago and it is quite effective. It will become somewhat tacky to the touch but, will never become completely hard. It sheds water and stays in place. One can re-apply at any time and the coating will increase in thickness. It can be sprayed into holes and crevices easily. Just wash the surface and let dry before applying it. To give it some extra body some wax can be added to it. Thank you.
Watch out with linseed oil. May combust when it dries. Put your rags in a metal rag can
The oil-based paint with lead pigment from yesteryear did a pretty good job protecting against salt corrosion.
I live near St. John's, Newfoundland and we are in the same situation. I have spent a lifetime trying to keep my vehicles from washing down a drain. Rust Check, Krown, Corrosion Free, Rust Blocker and all the other penetrating oils and lubes. With high strength steels and adhesives we no longer have to deal with floor and trunk pans rotting out like we used to but the rockers and wheel arches would be rotted out on 5 years if something wasn't applied from the beginning.
I have had this liquid electro-chemical rust inhibitor spray applied to all of my cars _annually_ since 1987. In Canada Rust Check and Krown are both available. They are competitors with same drill / spray process and electro-chemical rust inhibitor.
Negatives: dust and dirt build up, and after 10 to 20 years, the door seals will become spongy. That is all.
Positives: Nothing will _ever_ rust if the chemical is re-applied annually, competently and thoroughly. Electrical connectors are protected, window regulators and locks are protected from rust and lubed. Parking brake cables and brake lines are protected from rust. Suspension parts are protected from rust. Fasteners (bolts, nuts, screws) never rust and seize.
What sold me on this was the 1976 Dodge Aspen I got in 1987 which after 11 years, had ZERO rust... an Aspen! The first owner had religiously taken it to Rust Check since the late 1970s, and I learned how electro-chemical rust inhibitors are FAR different than oil or undercoating, so I continued annually. The Aspen is now 41 years old and still has no rust... body... undercarriage... brake lines... original gas tank... leaf springs... torsion bars. Every other car I have owned goes to Rust Check annually. It is the best bang for the buck maintenance you can do for your car if it is in a humid environment. The dirt film under the hood and (eventual) sponginess of door and hood seals is irrelevant to me compared with the benefits.
@@DJS100 Guess you didn't read what I wrote about a (now) 45 year old car that has zero rust, with annual Rust Check application. Also have a 1993 Dodge Caravan with 570,000 km and 1986 Pontiac Parisienne. Zero rust, not even on a emergency brake cable or suspension component. Obviously the shop you were going to was *_useless._* Whether Rust Check or Krown, the chemical inhibitor is only as good as the shop that applies it !

When I lived in the rust belt I heated my garage and hooked a garden hose to the hot water line and thoroughly rinsed all cars that had been driving in the snow and salt, until the roads dried out. Plus constant washing. Nothing will stop rust if you have the car long enough but you can delay it. Wife's van finally started rusting around the back wheels at 14 years and 220K+ miles. Otherwise it still is pretty clean underneath. Now we are in the south so no more of that. Now I have some body work to do. Van's of that vintage were pretty much rusted out or in the junkyard. Constant cleaning made a big difference.
Seems like your climate is like ours in the middle of the UK. Salt use in the winter can corrode under vehicles very badly. If anyone who lives where you are buys a Land rover of any description will find they are very bad for rust, they were my favourite vehicle but I am finding Kia Sorentos are much better and cheaper.
You gotta keep plenty of anti rust treatment on the under side and in cavities that way they will last much longer.
Any negative comments must be from people who don't like in a salt belt and don't know any better.
If you want to keep you vehicle for any length of time... rustproof!
Yep, seeing how nice and protected that truck is is a wet dream to a new englander. I don't drive my main car in the winter but I've had it 5 years and always spray trouble spots. Makes work such nicer. I just bought my dad's 01 tundra and it's very rusty. Had the frame replaced 2 years ago and it's in good shape otherwise so I'm just going to hit it with krown cans and keep it going.
There are numerous old vehicles (not garage-kept) in the "salt belt" that have undercarriages, frames, wheel wells, door bottoms, lower bodies, etc. in great condition even though the paint job is showing much wear. The owners are keeping them cleaned off, checking the rustproofing and reapplying where needed, and catching rust when it is just starting to show up. If you don't want your vehicle to become a rust bucket, this is the ONLY way!
My suburban is 22 yeas old and has some surface corrosion underneath ; never rustproofed and never parked inside a garage: too tall!

@@TheRetiredtech all I do is wash my cars, on warm or sunny days. Or spray / rinse a water hose underneath the car. Rarely but, sometimes use a drive thru carwash machine.

I have a 15 year old F150 and its as solid as the day it came out of the show room. I have not replaced brake lines or gas lines! Live in Ottawa and drive a lot around Montreal and Ottawa area. Ottawa and Montreal spend more money on salt and snow removal then any other place on earth!
Old mechanic I knew used to put his cars on the lift and give them a spray with used engine oil just before winter. My friend bought a MK 1 Escort (I'm in the UK). So my friend puts it up on the lift, no rust and the original paint was still there, the car was 30 years old. I used to apply The black undercoat to me is for asthetics only. Within a year of driving all the dirt and debris literally sandblasts it off. Sooo really it has to he applied yearly or so the spray coating in your body is pretty much a grease and should last the life or the vehicle

It would be very informative if you could take a bare piece of steal, say a 2x4 sheet, which has a large surface area, spray it with Krown rust-proofing, and dunk it in a 20% water-salt solution, check the results regularly too see if it actually protects the metal from corrosion?
I've done that.. Krown does nothing to protect the metal.
Fluid film and Honey Goo work very well.
Pre-weighed corrosion coupons are what are typically used, and these might be 2" x 6". A larger surface will not change the rate of corrosion.
@@GYPSY400 I did a crude test a while back and Fluid Film was a very impressive product. Krown and Rust Check did work but not as good as Fluid Film. The only problem I can see with Fluid Film is that it doesn't seem to creep into seams. I also have a jug of Corrosion Free that is very much like Fluid Film. Canadian Tire sprays it and it's a once every 18 month application as apposed to every 12 months.

I have a 4"x 8" .065 thick mild steel coupon screwed to my power pole outside. Coated half with Woolwax and left half bare. I spray a saltwater solution on it at least once a week. Over a year and the Woolwax coated side looks new and shiny, the bare side is total rust.
I definitely will be interested to see how Krown fairs AFTER winter time. Im excited to see if it does a great job of preventing rust from forming. We know from decades of rusted out cars that rustproofing the old way, of having tar or some kind of rubberized undercoating doesn't work. Actually it makes it worse, as Eric O talked about in the video. It actually TRAPS moisture underneath it accelerating the rusting process. I grew up in a family that always paid extra for "Zeibart" protected cars. And everyone of our cars rusted so Krown's new technology might be the answer.

I M the one that actually told you about krown a year or two back. was taking my 00 tacoma there. I actually stopped going because the technician wa as getting lazy and missing way too many spots. wasn't even doing inner frame anymore. I took the fee and bought a five gallon of fluid film and extension nozzels and do it myself now.

no pissing contest here. but when he was working on that tacoma a while ago. I said that must be krown maintained. his reply to me was. what is this known you speak of. told him about it then
actually at the time I was still going there. so had to be 2-3 years or so

Jon Martin. I actually used it for a few years. it works exactly the same as fluid film. identical. I stopped going because of the lack of workmanship. if course Eric's guy is in film and will be super thorough. I find doing it myself I get what I want way better. I use the fluid film gun kit. also I wash mine thoroughly before i apply. another step the fail to do.
I have had the wonderful opportunity to purchase a 01 escape that the 2nd owner thought was worthless due to the coil packs, I paid a couple hundred for it but the owner did not know about the rust proofing the first owner did. I have worked on this SUV with very few issues due to rust. This car looks nearly new. 113k miles! if your keeping your car for nearly the life of the vehicle this is a must! This car has lived in Iowa all its life.
Mr O, I have the same truck and because of your videos, I canceled my appointment with the black stuff applicator and booked my Krown appointment here at the local Krown shop in Syracuse.

Definitely can’t go over the top on rust protection I know it’s a big thing in the USA 🇺🇸 but its just starting to catch on over here in the uk 🇬🇧 my brother got it done through the garage where he takes his car first time I’ve ever heard of it being offered over here I’m considering doing it on my own car next year I think it’s well worth doing fantastic video Eric thanks

Unfortunately, there are a lot of vehicles with heavy rust problems in Toronto. Obviously not rustproofed. It is worth doing.

I literally almost got into a fight with the employees at 2 different locations when I simply asked that they do NOT drill the doors and just do an undercoating spray of it. I'm just interested in getting the undercoating done as the doors of my car already have cavity wax in it and any other product applied in there would just destroy it. I kept getting the runaround from them. I offered to pay the full amount despite them using less product because I only want the underbody done but they keep insisting on drilling. Why are they so damn adamant on drilling freakin' holes?
If you don't want them to drill on your truck that your decision they should respect that . But trust me you want them to drill and spray and put the In
Eric it would b nice to see you show us where to spray to get in rocker panels etc without holes in the body. Pulling off scuff garnishes, interior panels and truck carpeting to get at the hidden areas to spray in those areas where holes are usually drilled. Kinda like a DIY if u go buy 6 cans and apply without drilling holes. Also straddling a ditch with your car makes it easy to spray brakes and fuel lines etc.
I've had great results with Fluid Film on my 1999 4Runner (151k mi) which has lived in the Northeast for 18 years. Frame and body are rock solid. It has stopped surface rust on frame. A month after it's applied to surface rust, the rust changes to a soft sludge that can be easily scraped off the frame (or left there). I'm going to use it on my son's 2004 Ranger (66k mi) which has a frame that is loaded with surface rust. It may be just the ticket to save the vehicle from the scrap heap. It will never equal the Toyota, but it's still got a lot of life in it for a Ford :-)
I used fluid film a year ago on my 06 tacoma frame. Its residue is still on my frame with some dust.

Got a 96 bronco that lived in Hawaii until 2012, was out of commission for 3 years until I could get a new trans and a million other things to get it up and inspected but this truck literally has no rust or very minimal rust for its age , it's really only been through one winter in 22 years

That's because in Hawaii lmao. They aren't salting the roads daily/whatsoever. We also mix salt road with calcium.
I’ve had mine done for 3 years now. My concern was that the dust was absorbing the Krown and then being washed away by water either from a wash or from the rain. It doesn’t all come off but most of it does. Also, don’t get an underbody wash at an automatic car wash during the winter. The soap will dissolve your protection. I only wash with water during winter. Each spring I spray the underside with purple power degreaser and the hose it off so it is nice and clean. Then I have the Krown reapplied for a nice clean look. One more thing. I guess it’s worth mentioning that I noticed some salt being trapped under the dirt and against the frame. It sort of stuck to the Krown and then dirt covered it. It wouldn’t come off with just water.
I used fluid film last year. It was good but it didn't last all winter. This year trying New Hampshire under coating. Thanks for the update it will be interesting to see how it goes.

I Krown all of my vehicles, that’s 20+ a year & in Toronto, daily driving cars you wouldn’t usually put through rough winters; I’ve had zero rust issues, even on suspension components. Love My Krown, the location I use let’s me choose if/where to drill, where to use extra product and is the only location I’ve used for decades. Dixie Krown. Sprays my 993 Turbo and my 1,100,000km Sierra. Rust Proof Everything.

Here in Malta we have garages that specialise in rust proofing. They wash and clean under the car and apply the product. The job on new cars is warranted for 5 years and after that you take the car to them for touch up. You can even get the product and DIY the job at your garage, but you must buy a special gun which has a long flexible pipe with a special nozzle at the end to reach in chasies and deep down the pilars running boards etc. On minibuses what we also do is we take out the head liner and fill everywhere with a mixture of underseal, clean engine oil and grease. It helps to keep the vans sound and free of rust.
I just wire wheeled my frame down to bare metal, then repainted it with industrial spray paint. Seems to be holding up. I wash my truck and the underneath, pretty regularly, to wash salt and dirt off tho.
Do something in addition to the paint . Trust me . Been there.

Just make sure that your Krown shop is indeed using grease on the holes they drilled, and also make sure they hit up the door rubbers and rubbers under the hood with the silicone spray. Also good habit to do yourself the odd time.
