Although Germany will always remain our cherished Vaterland, America has been our beloved "Motherland" since 1992. Since that time, we've made many transatlantic trips "commuting" between our German home in Flensburg, Schleswig-Holstein, and our American home in Northfield, Minnesota. In the spirit of German-American friendship, we invite you to enjoy an entertaining 13-minute video of our first semester at the German Dept., St. Olaf College. We met and entertained many US Friends & Assi and Henning, our kids visiting from Germany. Highlight had been the very moving event with Ilse & Dr. Harry Brauer, Old Main, St. Olaf College. Harry survived The November Pogrom on the night of 9 November 1938 working in the Jewish Hospital, in Frankfurt. 1989 we had the pleasure of founding the American/Schleswig-Holstein Society, which has a strong interest in Low German and 1848ers, democratic revolutionaries from Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany who settled in eastern Iowa at the Mississippi. Living in Northfield, -south of Minneapolis, Minnesota,- a quaint college town has been A DREAM COME TRUE.
