Thanks for this, my wife n I were married here on 25.07.1995, and left the hotel just as hurricane Erin (?) was building, we were lucky to have been some of the last guests in this wonderful place.
We also spent our honeymoon there in 1985. Lots of fond memories, so peaceful and serene. Breakfast on our balcony every morning, and sightseeing with Clarence our driver. Need to get back to Antigua…
Thank you. I got married here in 94. Only heard about the hurricane a few months ago. Husband died in 17. So sad to see the destruction. Hope they've rebuilt since the video. Beautiful place.
Unfortunately they never rebuilt and will never, the whole bay is being redeveloped as a play ground for millionaires, which is a real.shame for everyone else tbh
I stayed here in the late 70's for my honeymoon. At that time a very limited number of suites, no pool and believe a just announced golf course. Restaurant was open to the sea breeze and they had some live music after dinner. The rooms were modest but each had a nice outdoor sitting area where they bought you breakfast each morning. I remember small wild birds would fly in and eat the crumbs from the table.
Len Perrone Thanks for the comment, thats interesting that you actually stayed at the hotel. It was pretty sad when I was walking around it, to see the state its in. I have another video too of the hotel but from above, on here.
we were there in Aprill 1978, The facilities were well kept. I actually played the 9 hole golf course. it was nice for what it was. One hole overlooked a beautiful blue water cove. The tennis facility was also nice . In the world of "its a small world" the tennis pro was the brother of a tennis player I knew at the University of South Carolina.. The meals were excellent and were included in the room rate. Breakfast delivery to your room cost one dollar. All you had to do was leave your breakfast choices at the front desk the prior night. The beach was the most beautiful beach I and my wife had ever seen or have seen since.
