This was good, but I miss the old days that got me following Rick. I loved the old gang of Rick, Pete, Matt, and Andy playing together when they took turns holding the camera.
Nowadays that format would be ten times better with a camera crew and great editing. As long as Rick doesn't make it look too polished and keeps it natural.

Yeah, first thing I thought was mid-iron, hybrid and putter. Or gap/mid/hyb. I putt almost as well without a putter. Interesting challenge. May take it up with my regular grassholes this week!

James taking the gap wedge out after hole #1… what a saint! For the sake of the video audience… and Rick finally at 11:45 realizes that he never thought how he would play the second and third hole if ‘he’ lost a club. James could afford to pick Drive, 52, & putter imagining he wasn’t going to lose a hole and would just drive , chip, and putt!
Rick might just be the worst chipper in UA-cam golf!
Think I would have gone driver, 6i, SW. Choke down on the driver, lean the hands forward a bit and you've got a serviceable putter. And if you lose the driver you still have a chance to hit a par 4 green in 2 shots, or a par 5 green in 3 shots, with the 6i and the SW. Nice content here, good change of pace. :-)

Here's a challenge for you. Start with full bag, every time you hit a club, you got to remove it from the bag (except putter). You do that over 5 holes!

At 4 min in, on the first hole, Rick whining about loft. And, what, in a 3 club Battle Golf challenge not being able to “open up” the face 2-4 degrees on his world class “Vohkee” wedges with various sole grinds just makes the ‘talk’ from his club trials and
testing to playing on the course such a joke … hit the shot man… don’t wish for what you don’t have… if you had all your clubs hit a sand wedge or 60 degree… since you DON’T… which you knew from envisioning the comp and imagining which 3 clubs you would choose… get it there and say how you would play this shot with this club.
No one really wants to listen to your whinging do they? Do you get more comments like “I wish Rick would whinge more about the unlucky, difficult situations he finds himself in.”? If you do, my bad… if you don’t, then get on with what James told you when he was your caddy… unless that was recorded after this. People have already called you out for not learning what you have been told!!
R&A can you not get someone else or have better content ideas? RS has his own channel doing this amateur v pro stuff. If you’re trying to promote the open or just this channel there are a million better ways and better ‘hosts’.
I only watched this because I thought Rick was playing James Robinson the UA-cam PGA. Rick has great length off the tea but not a great short game or control.
