This tiny house apartment seems absolutely incredible, except for one flaw SOME people wont be ok with. To me its something i could get used to on my way to the bank with all the money i’d save in rent… New York City is expensive and this is one way to resist those high rental prices.

As a native New Yorker who lived in NYC for over half of my life, but no longer does, I so enjoy your videos. I love the glimpses you give of each neighborhood, capturing the unique "flava" of those blocks. I thought I would never leave NYC once I returned as an adult, but alas, it is true what my elders always told me. As you get older, you do get tired of the cold, public transit, the expense, the hustle and bustle, the "concrete jungle." NYC is amazing for the young. I loved being there in my 20s and 30s, but now, I am glad when my plane takes off after a visit. 😄 Nevertheless, you are doing a great service for those who want to live in the Big City, as my native New Yorker Dad used to call it. My Dad used to say, "once you leave New York, you ain't going no where!" 😁 So for those of you trying to make it there, much luck! Everyone should live in NYC at least once in their lives. No place like NYC! I will rep Manhattan always! Still have my 212 number! I may not want to reside there at this point, but it will always be my first love. And you never forget your first love. ❤🗽🏢🏦
Right on man👍
I am a former New Yorker who lives vicariously thru your videos.
I live in Arizona and started watching because I recently retired and want to get out of hot Arizona.
I miss the East Coast, but do Not! want to move back to NYC.
Your feed loaded, and I have been watching you ever since. Your comments and sense of humor are hilarious alone.
I must say, though, if anyone is watching for a new apartment, you are thorough.
May you have continued success as a Agent.
Sincerely,
New York in my Soul!
@mariankirk3176 Have you considered moving here to the sunny state of Florida??
I like your moniker....NEW YORK IN MY SOUL......exactly my sentiments. Need to get back there soon.
This is the part of Bushwick I don't like. The best part of Bushwick is near Ridgewood Queens. Parts of Bushwick can be very sketchy. I lived in Bushwick years ago near Rigewood. The M train ran right by my windows. It really didn't bother me, you get use to it after a while. Nice apartment & the rent isn't bad either. But I wouldn't live there because of the neighborhood, too sketchy over there. Thanks Cash ❤!!!
growing up in a rural area but reading and watching things about New York, I assumed everyone who didn't live in a penthouse had a train four feet from their window in a tenement apartment.
With a father and grandfather who both worked for the railroad, I'd have no problem living near a train track. The sound of a train going by would be a peaceful sound for me.
I kind of love the train tbh
I enjoy the little tours of NY, but the apartments do make me feel better about my mortgage. Had this house (RI) for 15 years now, and rents keep going up but my mortgage stays the same.
What about property taxes? Some of us in certain States pay outrageously high rates that go up.
Property taxes went up in Illinois well I’m in Chicago but it’s not as bad as certain areas of the city my home is a brick 2 flat and I’m like 20 mins away from downtown which is not bad.
@@christinebuckingham8369 I'm just talking about the basic mortgage itself, everything has gotten more expensive, taxes, utilities, etc, but not as bad as these rental prices!
@@jessiebrown6084 If you won't include all expenses you are making yours look better than it is.
It still comes out less that what apartments are renting for, plus don't forget equity. Long term financially owning is better than renting.
We once lived in a place in the landing path of Harriers and Warthogs. As in, they were so close to the ground, I could have thrown rocks and hit them. We got used to them fairly quickly. So, that train? Nothing...lol.
I would not have room mates and that place is not for me and awful location 🙂 Glad you are putting the price up front and love seeing the places near by.Thank you for all you do 😊🤗 You can do really nice comfy chairs instead of couches. But I would not buy them for others to use full time.I would use my bedroom for eating sitting and TV.
When there's a big sign that says "No one allowed on roof", I suspect that no one is allowed on the roof. This apartment offers basic space for three, though somebody gets the very small bedroom. It's recently refurbished with the usual bargain fixtures, but at least they're clean. You'll need to invest in a rolling island for the kitchen area and earplugs for everyone. The neighborhood looks sketchy but the price will attract tenants.
You won't need earplugs. My first apartment was near an el train, and you notice it the first few days, and then you just don't.
The loud subway/train noise can be diminished by turning on the radio 24 hours a day-------or living in Manhattan where the subway is underground and not a problem.
Or moving out of NY altogether
@@jacksonmorganfroghin4815 You think NY is the only place with trains?
@@653j521 Sorry but I had to delete my earlier sarcastic answer. It was called for I didn't need to go there.
I believe there are other cities with trains. Instead of blasting the radio maybe just get a good pair of headphones one for each ear. Thank you.
Good afternoon Cash. I like these, well done landlords. Cash please do not put cleaning supplies unless they are natural cleaners in the closet with the furnace hot water tank.
Finally a Sponsor that matches what I'm Watching!!🇬🇧👍
Right? The irony...
@@sinash Irony?
That is a tiny ass water heater for 3 people, gonna be a lot of cold showers up in there
Hmmm. The kitchen needs a proper kitchen fan. The stench of fried food all over the place would be nasty. It may not have the space for a proper extraction one but atleast one that clears the steam from the cooking.
Agree. Plus - with a gas stove, it may not be legal without a vent. OTOH, I saw what might be a back slot vent system at the rear of the stove. But if so, where does it exhaust to??
Seriously, Cash needs to open an "L shaped couch" store as a side hustle .
Hi Cash 👋. Where was the tiny roof house? The 3BR is very angular, which for me would set off my anxiety in a New York minute. But, I guess it could work for others who don't mind the weird layout. Thanks and a Belated Blessed New Year!
There are a lot of anxious and/or phobic posters here. I wonder why.
Love that little garden. Grow your own food is the future.
The apartment and neighborhood may not be suitable for the well-paid professional, but it does seem perfect for students, interns, and folks who are looking for reasonably priced accommodations. It's a nice, bright, and very clean apartment for the price point.
why wouldn't a well-paid professional like this neighborhood
a well-paid professional might want reasonable rent
CASH- I want to thank you for paying attention to what I wrote you a few weeks ago. Now, you are stating the full price of the apartments in the beginning, rather than stating the price as one third of the actual rent of a 3 bedroom. Thank you for being up front and accurate. Good job.
He still does that sometimes he did it a few videos ago i told him to stop doing that crap a while ago and he knows it annoys people i think he gets a kick out of it maybe you finally broke through to him because he's become sort of click baitish
Does he even read these texts ? 🤔
Most New Yorkers only care about price per person. It’s a New York thing 😂
He doesn't even need to do the "roommate" math for people. We can figured it out on our own if we even want roommates. Just state the full amount and let people decide what they want to do with the bedrooms.
@@jeffmorse645 I agree. Some people who rent are families while others might want less roommates but use one room as a den/game room or guest room.
Looks like a lovely apartment. Luv from Northern Ireland xx
LOL, I have a Lemonade policy and Maya was the rep that was attached to my purchasing process too, crazy , small world, tiny homes, teeny budget............
Cash thanks for this one. Whenever anyone I know complains about where they live I'm going to send them this video. Then they will SHUT UP! LOL!
Yeah, right. It's so very awful that nobody on earth can endure it and prefers anywhere else. You need to get out more.
@@653j521 🤣It's all relative.
I watched these for about 6 months before I figured out what "the ESB" was... lol
I never heard of renters insurance until I moved out of NYC and into cities that require tenants to have insurance!
Yup u do get used to it....lived right next to trains in Boston and Soa paulo brazil....got used to it easily
I like it, the layout is quirky and that's part of the appeal. Most people moving to (or around..) NYC know there's noise and tiny spaces.

Also,. The ad for lemonade was seamless, which is really tough for most content creators, job well done!
Love your videos, but, I still want to see one on how New Yorkers find all these roommates!
yer sitting in a hotbed of poisoned air and you won't be able to breathe well in a few years but I still love it! xo 1:35 lolol aww. xo The grafitti reminds me of Banksy. There's some real artistic work being done on the walls of free human beings... that's why they're painted on the OUTSIDE of them walls, and not on the inside. Did you hear of Banksy's original artwork being auctioned off at Sothby's? His picture went for over 25 million. Once the gavel was banged, the picture sold for that extreme amount of money, Banksy had rigged the frame to turn on, and SHRED his original artwork now valued at over 25 million dollars lol. xo fkn legend, that guy. Banksy CONTINUES to share his artwork freely, as graffiti, all over the world.
I took the “M Train” from the Forest Avenue in Ridgewood, NY Stop So That I Can Transfer To The “F Train” Because My Car Broke Down And I Could Not Believe How Many Stops The “M Train” Has In Comparison To The “F Train”. It Took Me An Hour And A Half To Get Home In Long Island, NY. That Was The Last Time I Took The “M Train”. The “M Train” Sucks, Give Me The “F Or E Train” And I’m Good.
You’re a great pitch man. If I were a renter I would check out Lemonade Insurance.
Hey is that the Zoltar game from the Tom Hanks class “Big?)
Yep
Not a bad place. Probably even doable for a single or couple at that price.
He makes it sound harmless by just calling it "spray paint". But it’s not mere starving-artist murals. Much of what you see is gang tags - gang-members marking their territory. And if you’re the building-owner, you leave it up. Not out of laziness, but out of fear of gang retaliation.
Outrageous prices. Those are the kind of prices that will drive all of the fun (people) out of a city.
Oh cool! This apartment has a broom cleaner! I have always wanted an apartment that has one (they are hard to get) 😉
Hey Cash! It must really be cold in New York right now. I’ve never seen you so bundled up.
"I'd still live here."
We know that's a lie
The space of the stove might have been for an exhaust hood?
Nice 👍 I would enjoy the angles. The train noise? How many decibels, mmmmmmm? I would check with my ear doctor or wear ear buds. Might work
I use to think renters insurance was a necessary thing to have until you see what your DEDUCTIBLES ARE when and if you need to use it😩😵💫
Thank you for sharing. You continue to make me laugh around great places to live.☺☺
You get used to the train noise and rumble as it gently rocks you to sleep throughout the night…
Zoltar machine was on the movie Big with Tom Hanks
Its funny people get mad about cash saying what rent per person is instead of total rent. Look at it as a big surprise when he does tell you. If you think about it its not a big deal when you know its coming. When he says 3, 4, or 5 bedroom scream surprise and be happy
Dollar General stores frequent depressed areas.
How about a tour of the neighbourhood at night? 😮
Trains outside your window is totally normal in my city.
i would put curtains though ;)
ilived by train stationed in ozone park its too noisy kept us up
You should turn your video into a movie documentary all. Apartment in New York Brooklyn etc.😆
Nice apt,,wroong location.
Love your chAnnel! Just curious: what was the worst apt you've ever seen???
Hmm I bathroom three people? Mostly that’s going to be ok, but what if you aren’t feeling well and the others are getting ready for work?
i like the grocery store!
As someone not from NYC, is the neighbourhood safe?
No its ghetto as hell
I think the graffiti all over should answer your question.
It was one of the worst neighborhoods in NYC. They seem to be gentrifying it but it's not there yet, IMO.
Nope
Oh, hi Mark.
I was looking for this 🤣
Vans with candy....hahaha!!
Love these
Pipes look like gas furnace exhaust
The apartment tour doesn’t even start until 6:24 on a 12:59 video. Almost half of the video is other junk, including the sponsored commercial. I think it’s time to switch to a less successful UA-camr who doesn’t fill up videos with fluff.
ETA, OK we just wasted more time on the roof, so it’s official. Less than half the video is about the actual apartment.
I'm imagining your spouse is someone like Mrs. Jimmy Kimmel -- loves you but doesn't take you too seriously. You've had to have done stand-up or motivational speaking. Very entertaining videos.
Gas stove in kitchen without a hood ventilation?
You have to have a vent with an electric stove too. Wow...some people really think gas stoves cook differently than electric. Lol. Stop pimping for this corrupt government, who already control out electricity and want gas stoves gone because when they start rationing your electricity like they do in Africa, you'll still have some heat and they won't like that.
NY and Philly look alike
What!? No sink sprayer?
"So often you won't even notice it."
Was there laundry in the building?
Yeah, in the basement
With all due respect, who cares? It takes less time to buy new clothes than to do laundry? Do you see where I'm going with this? You don't need a stove, get a microwave. No dishwasher, get paper plates. No need for a closet. All you need is a sofa bed and a coffee table desk. Your phone or laptop is your TV. Welcome to 2030 a virtual utopia. Not the future where you own nothing and are happy while eating cockroaches. Ugh. Ain't nobody got time for that! Right, Bonnie?

Hey Siri remind me of a movie strong warriors it takes place in New York 80s movie I think that was the name or brave warriors Who are the actors I recognize he play rumple still skin from once upon a time TV series I think that’s how you pronounce his name the character he goes by in that TV show🤔
Hello nice Video
CRAZY
So - no "tiny house on a NYC roof?"
As gambling outfits need to be based in places like Vegas, spray paint manufacturers need to be based in NYC. They must make a killing there. They'd do even better too if NY city govt & NYC property owners didn't favor taggers & their work. The graffiti admittedly adds a lot of charm to the city.
Charm? The only benefit of graffiti is it keeps down rents.
Cash does sly-tongue-in-cheek-type humor. That's one reason why his vids are good. However, I have read some so-called intellectuals who actually try to argue why graffiti isn't so bad or even a good thing. NYC's graffiti was really bad in the 1970s. So I don't know how it compares with graf in the 2020s.

I don’t mind some graffiti. But on a nice building I’m living in. Paying rent to. I do not like graffiti on my place of living. Paint trains or alleys. Not every one is a fan of graffiti. 🙄
Crowded city and yall want it completely quiet smh
This isn’t a tiny house on a roof. It’s an apartment.
Tiny house on a roof? Where?
It’s an illegal apt

Maybe not a good place to live if you own a van and don't want free improvements made to its paintwork
I have lived beside rails before. First night that a train went by at 3 in the morning, I thought it was going to come right though my house, it was so loud. by the time I moved out 7 yrs later.. I didn't hear it anymore lol.. at all, ever. ^_^
How much money does the residents have to pay for protection?
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Protection from what?
@@theoriginalbridgetconnors Violent crime gangs.
@@blueeyedwolf2205 😂😂😂😂😂
Nice interior but the Train and the slum neighborhood, that much tagging means Gangs and lots of drug dealing, also a 10 minute walk from the train on a dark night is a NO GO for me. That's why he tours early in the morning before the hoods are up.
And all of those auto businesses will be closed up tight by 5PM. Nice desolate 10 minute walk at night.
How do you know if the produce is fresh? No graffiti on it yet.
The neighborhood vs the apartment almost has this dystopian cyber punk vibe and it’s not looking too good irl situation 😅
Best description 😁
I would rent that alone $2750 is a fantastic price! It looks small but updated I would make one room an office, another a walk in closet and one a bedroom 🙂😂
Hard pass. Furniture placement with all those weird angles would be a nightmare. & the subway tracks right across from your windows means constant noise & dirt along with train riders looking in the windows unless the shades are drawn at all times
Graffiti is a crime … and it’s a symptom of chaos.
We've seen studios for $2750 so it's actually not bad for that much space. I wonder how safe the neighborhood is tho.
For me the only concern I would have with the "flaw" is whether or not it indicates gang activity.
As long as I know it's safe I would totally live there.
It's Brooklyn, so some of the illegible graffiti is from gang members marking their territory. Much of the markings are just visual clutter from juveniles, and the locals tolerate it because it keeps down rent prices. Wall Street traders and new city arrivals aren't moving where there's graffiti all over.
How would gang activity look like? Would they try to rob you?
Nowhere is "safe" in NYC. The subways alone are a good place to be beaten, sucker punched, stabbed and have acid thrown on you.
@@gutzbenj There are plenty of videos showing "gang violence" in the form of robberies, drive bys, carjackings.
I'm a native New Yorker. Born & live in Brooklyn. Bushwick, especially this part is very sketchy. A lot of criminal activities in this part. I don't know if it's gang related or not, but I wouldn't recommend it. The best part of Bushwick is near Ridgewood Queens. Nice homes & buildings, plenty of stores & restaurants. Not too much crimes as some parts of Bushwick!!!
If you don't walk outside at night Bushwick is totally safe.
Can you provide estimated costs of utilities on some of these places?
