- The Kottonmouth Kings and Suburban Noize Records were devastated by the news of the passing of fellow brother and underground legend Steven "Saint Dog" Thronson.
Saint Dog was a founding member of California rip-hop outfit Kottonmouth Kings and his trademark raspy flow was instrumental in the success of classic tracks like "Suburban Life," "Bump," "Dog's Life," "Play On," among others. Saint Dog will be forever missed by the group and fans around the world.
Saint Dog leaves behind an undeniable musical legacy with Kottonmouth Kings and his solo albums like “Ghetto Guide" and “Unconformable Social Amputees". Saint Dog's contributions to underground classic's like the Subnoize Souljaz and DGAF's debut album with Chucky Chuck will forever hold their place in fans' hearts. Most recently, Saint Dog released his last solo album “Bozo” on Suburban Noize Records in August of last year.
In honor of Saint Dog the Suburban Noize label converted its Spotify Playlist into 40 of Saints most memorable songs. open.spotify.com/playlist/6x4...

I was a teen at the time, 1997 Chicago IL, front row never heard of KMK in my life, or anyone that was in the crowd. Alll a sudden the Bass from bump started. 4 guys ran out BUMP BUMP BUMP, The whole FKING PLACE WAS JUMPING! I looked at my friend and we both had looks on face like HOLYSHIT. They blew my mind. I was hooked. Here I am Year later talking about it. After the show I met DloC and Saint Dog. They gav eme a free shirt. I was and am still down for life! WINTER GREEN TOUR! WHO REMEMBERS THAT?? Royal Highness wasnt even out yet! I'm in the crowd in like all of their music videos. Seen em live about 45 times! KMK 4 LIFE! RIP SAINT DOG!

We threw a show in Lancaster 4 times for KingSpade...our 1st one, S Dogg showed up off the train and he couldn’t of been nicer. I’ve been to 44 live shows here in So Cal, and those were the best times of my life. RIP SD.

Saw these guys in amsterdam in 99' cannabis cup. It was the royal highness album/tour. It was their first time there.... What a show. Everyone was so stoned they will maybe 30 40 people in a small ass room with a stage just standing there watching.... I think that they were a bit taken aback by the lack of enthusiasm of the crowd because there used to doing high energy shows and then when they hit the stage with that high energy we all just looked at them wasted.... We all enjoy the show we were just too damn stoned to mosh or jump up and down or scream and holler.....

God this really hit home , I had the honor and privilege to work with Saint on many shows , I lost my older brother this year and he always wanted me to collab with Saint dog ... god I love and respect all of you to the fullest and the legacy will always live for eternity ! Saints solo career really stands out to me . it seems every day or so i discover a new song i didn't know about. I never met any kings in person but Ive always loved all that music.

I lost a close friend last year from battling with his addiction he's also the same friend that introduced me to kmk dirtball big b madchild and he's the same friend that took me to my first kmk show in Milwaukee at this little venue that was packed.. 5o this day I've been to 6 kmk shows one kindspade show and saint was at my very first show! Saint you'll be missed homie smoke one for you! Life rolls on :(

It makes me really happy to see Johnny healthy again he was obviously having a hard time. I’m about 10 years younger then them and they always took time out to hang out, smoke, take pictures and I would even bring them back shows later to get them signed. As I’ve grown older I realized I was as much a part of their dream as hanging with them and being at shows. Bleeding for the movement in pits and kmk tattoos...we won this war it’s about over. Kmk will live for ever. Kmk for life rest easy Saint.

I got exposed to KMK back around 2003, thanks to my cousin's ex-husband, and it just vibed with me instantly. It influenced my outlook on life and my style. He showed me the Pimp Twist video, and Saint just had that aura to him that you hung on his every word. It was ride or die since then, and it hurt my soul when I found out he passed. I was overjoyed when him, Loc and Richter got back together again. Saint, you will always be remembered and loved. I'm sure Pak had one hell of a party waiting for you in the Kingdom, brother. Thank you, we love you, and will be ready to see you rock the show for all of us when we meet you again. Life rolls on, but Saint Vicious will always roll the hardest. RIP, King.
