I enjoyed your showing us the Masking Brush tool with its options. As I go through masking I find a lot of time I go back and forth with what to include, and what to exclude. I had struggled with Perfect Brush partly because I didn't adjust sensitivity (as you explained well.) I need to read/watch some more about the Refine Brush, too.
Yes I think on1 should reduce the options to make things simpler. Just set it to what is most useful in the majority of cases. Perfect brush is unnecessariy complicated I actually though it didn't work until I played around with the settings.
Thank you for this video explaining the masking brush settings. I have struggled with these settings and usually just get frustrated.. I would just play around with the settings until it seemed to work but it was never precise enough.
Wonderful to have someone benefit from this video! I personally thought their bursh unusable and criticized ON1's brush in an older video. However one commenter corrected me and told me to learn first the tools before criticizing. That being said ON1 should make their tools more plug-and-play like capture one or lightroom or else it can't be appreciated by most.
Yes that feature is a bit sensitive. ON1 could do better to make it more intuitive. I'll try to make another example on this as other people have mentioned the same. In the meantime I recommend try it on a very simple example first-- something with very obvious dark and bright tones.
Hello, i did use 2024 for my demo. Perhaps try something easier for ON1 to distinguish like a dark foreground and try to mask a bright sky. See if that works first.
Self explanatory? Considering Mask isn't available until a photo is in Edit mode, mask is the blue icon five icons. below Edit. Mask is active/highlighted on the left navigation bar.

Thanks mate, a quick, simple , and very helpful video ---- my attention span wont go much further 😇
I'm slowly getting my old head around it
Glad it was simple enough enough! I though you were using LR?😀
Nicely done keep them coming
Thanks, will do!
I like the layout of your videos. They are well organized, well made and interesting. Regarding ON1 I'll rest my case while watching it improve.
Much appreciated! We try our best 🙂

Very helpful video TBP. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
The control tip could be very useful. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Great Video. Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for this video. I only don't understand the last one, in which you use the control button. It doesn't work, what do I do wrong?

@@takebetterphotos8132 Thanks, I will give it a try
Thank you
You're welcome
Holding down CTRL does not work for me (using 2024). It masks everything regardless of color.

You did not explain where the masking brush is located
Thanks for the feedback. Should have put that in after rewatching

I like your videos, but everything you show does not work for me. I don’t know where it’s going wrong
thanks for the feedback. Which specifically is not working?
Great tips, especially the last one - I never knew about that! Thanks and cheers from DownUnder 🦘
Happy to help! Nice to see it of use to some people
thanks a lot
You are most welcome
