I love these videos you have done for each country's top 10 Eurovision songs :) I'm from Northern Ireland so I feel that I can take pride in either the UK's entry or Ireland's entry. I agree with you that the UK has lost its interest and that saddens me...
5- Oh this was catchy too! Awesomeness :D 4- AWEEESOME!!! THE BEST WE EVER SENT!! We wanted to win :( 3- Awwww cute, so proud of this being on Danish TV! XD 2- This was better than the other one! 1- OF COURSE
Katrina & The Waves my BEST. I remember Sandie Shaw, Lulú, Cliff Richard, Mary Hopkins, Shadows, Olivia N-J., Lindsay de Paul, verte good all. From Spain.
Great list and I agree with almost every entry and placing apart from No 2 which I would have replaced with either 1988 or 2009's entry but still, a great list nonetheless. Thanks for sharing.
Blue is not good enough to be on here, personally i wouldn't have picked sweet dreams or Gina G or Brotherhood of man. What about Bryan Johnson 1960, Sandie Shaw 1967, Rock Bottom 1977 and One Step out of time 1992 or Its my time 2009
1. Save Your Kisses For Me 2. Love shine a light 3. Runner In The Night 4. Puppet On A String 5. Power To All Our Friends 6. Beg, Steal Or Borrow 7. Congratulations 8. Love Is 9. One Step Further 10. Ooh Aah Just A Little Bit
Gina G made it big here in the United Sates with her song...and it's the last Eurovision song to even make it on the Billboard charts...and it even got a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording.
1 One Step Further (1982) 2 Making Your Mind Up (1981) 3 I'm Never Giving Up (1983) 4 Love Games (1984) 5 A Message to Your Heart (1991) 6 Save Your Kisses for Me (1976) 7 Love Shine a Light (1997) 8 Give a Little Love Back (1990) 9 Better the Devil You Know (1993) 10 Even If (2008)
Great video, and very interesting choices. I totally agree with your number one, but the rest would be totally different for me. I also love your use of Greensleeves at the beginning.
Sorry, I can't agree with these. Leaving out Sandie Shaw's Puppet on a String" 1967 ESC winner and Lulu's 1969 ESC equal winner "Boom Bang-A-Bang" is a bit odd to me
This is a very weird list 5. Are you sure? (1961) 4. Rock bottom (1977) 3. Puppet on a string (1967) 2. Boom bang a bang (1969) 1. Making your mind up (1981)
UK is my favourite ESC country. Not bad selection overall. Glad to see Sweet Dreams, Vicki Watson, Bucks Fizz, Brotherhood Of Man here. Sad, that Mary Hopkin, Lynsey & Mike were not included instead Blue and Sonia.
1981's is a classic one already but i liked your 1985 entry the same... i didn't wanted to look obvious by puting it a little bit higher :P thnx anw ;-) P.S 2005 almost make it in...
Interesting choices :) I love how everyone has different favourites, but a few of yours did match my own lol. I wish the organisers would get some youth back into the show. No harm to anyone who does it but they are out of touch. We'll never win again at this rate.
lovely song the katrina and the waves one, I think it's one of the very few songs that deserved to be the winner, an NO, Austria didn't deserve it at all!!!! not even the first 10
Bless you, well I don't think we are putting the same quality songs in as the winning countries if I'm honest but sometimes I don't think we deserve soooo low on the scoreboard. I don't know why we can't send some amazing song as Eurovision still gets decent viewing figures.
Its because the officials who determine who will represent the UK keep picking bad choices with older singers and songs that are so out of touch with this century and do not appeal to the majority of the Eurovision audience; if they would only pick a younger person with a song that fits into this decade then they would be fine; at least Ireland's entry is great this year. Ryan who is representing Ireland this year is from Strabane in Northern Ireland :)
bravo for placing katrina first, most powerful eurovision entry ever, Bucks Fizz, though were to good for the time, almost sensational to be only 9th after some non-entities
10: too annoying 9: Great winner fun song 8: too cheesy 7: Powerful song 6: Their 2nd best!! kinda kitsch but really charming 5: NO!! it gives me headaches!! 4: Very catchy but not of my faves 3: Not bad but not a winner 2: One of the best of the 60's 1: Great but it doesn't amaze me
10: Great. 9: Annoyed by it. 8: Weird performance. 7: Good. 6: Great. 5: Not bad. 4: Catchy. 3: Enjoyable. 2: Not my cup of tea. 1: Sounds familiar… So what happened to 2005 and 2009?
no 1 is bang on, probably our greatest entry, however, I don't think we have lost interest, its more of a case we get contradicting information from fans and judges, fans ask us why we don't send big names and say they will vote if we do, yet when we do, ie in the case of blue, the judges accuse us of trying to get cheap points, and mark us down. I think we should withdraw for a couple of years and think about why we are entering. then maybe we can send a good, not average act for the sake of it
and what about ROCK BOTTOM by Lynsey de Paul & Mike Moran ? and KNOCK KNOCK WHO'S THERE by Mary HOPKIN ? Considering recent years , GINA G was the best by all means . I guess it is difficult choosing 10 in 64 entries !
haha.. oh man, you weren't that bad before the 00's :P 9. HAHAHA, the only brit who hates that song xP It was a good winner ;-) 4. It's still popular in Cyprus :P (classic party song) 2. I still don't get it, do you love him or hate him to death?:/ Sandie's song was just good for me :( ..i kinda prefered Luxembourg that year, its a nice winner though... Daz!!! The song is great for the brits(i can imagine)..not for me :/ 5 great winning times girl!! UK was great!! :D

Sweet Dreams at No 6. My favourite UK song :)
Sandie Shaw and Mary Hopkins, were are you?
Thnx! ^_^
4. If i was counting by how famous each song was, this would be 1st because it was a hit in Cyprus for 10 whole years!!!
I miss 1998 (the best), 2009, 1999, 1995, 1992 and 1972 (their 3rd best)
Imaani and Katrina are our best entries
Boom Bang A Bang > Everything
Great list and I agree with almost every entry and placing apart from No 2 which I would have replaced with either 1988 or 2009's entry but still, a great list nonetheless. Thanks for sharing.
Where are Lulu, Mary Hopkins and Sandie Shaw? Some of them deserved to be there but Blue do not. Also Cliff does not deserve to be there twice.
zercon11 My favorite is lulu 💜
Yeah.. power to all our friends shouldn’t‘ve been there.
At least Sandie Shaw should be here, just by virtue of she was the first winner from the UK
Blue is not good enough to be on here, personally i wouldn't have picked sweet dreams or Gina G or Brotherhood of man. What about Bryan Johnson 1960, Sandie Shaw 1967, Rock Bottom 1977 and One Step out of time 1992 or Its my time 2009
pathetic how Blue is on the list but where is Jade Ewen??, more respect to the entry that has scored the highest possible points for a very long time.
Rock bottom was shite that's why it's not here
I agree with the first place!!!
1. Save Your Kisses For Me 2. Love shine a light 3. Runner In The Night 4. Puppet On A String 5. Power To All Our Friends 6. Beg, Steal Or Borrow 7. Congratulations 8. Love Is 9. One Step Further 10. Ooh Aah Just A Little Bit

michaelleacy I agree with no. 4. "Love Games" is a truly ESC classic!
Great video, and very interesting choices. I totally agree with your number one, but the rest would be totally different for me. I also love your use of Greensleeves at the beginning.
Katrina and the waves were just amazing 18 years ago since we won it
Ty Marshall 20 years by now...
21 yrs
Sorry, I can't agree with these. Leaving out Sandie Shaw's Puppet on a String" 1967 ESC winner and Lulu's 1969 ESC equal winner "Boom Bang-A-Bang" is a bit odd to me
Exactly
This is a very weird list

Cliff Richard!! :* :*
Where is imaani? 1998? That song was so iconic you can enter it now and it would still be current. You have bad taste
1981's is a classic one already but i liked your 1985 entry the same... i didn't wanted to look obvious by puting it a little bit higher :P thnx anw ;-)
P.S 2005 almost make it in...

Yay it's here
Para mí los preferidos son: Cliff Richard(1968), Sandie Show, Lulú, Katrina, Shadows, Bucks Fizz, Olivia N-J., Clodagh Rogers, Imany, tantos buenos....
lulu and sandy shaw should have been in this list. And for me, the way bucks fizz move their hands is just trying to copy brotherhood of man..
Katrina + The Waves !
I really hope uk again Will win one Day is stil a Amansing Country
Bless you, well I don't think we are putting the same quality songs in as the winning countries if I'm honest but sometimes I don't think we deserve soooo low on the scoreboard. I don't know why we can't send some amazing song as Eurovision still gets decent viewing figures.
Great video! Are you going to make one to Estonia and another to Denmark?
5: love shine a light
4 is my time
3 save your kisses for me
2: congratuleses
1: uh just a little bit
What no Sandie Shaw or Matt Monro? This is another good list though, good stuff. Shame "Sing Little Birdie" isn't on there too...
maybe it's te fact that i was only born in 1998 to be around for only one song . but i've only ever heard 3 of these songs :P
Το boom bang a bang δε το εβαλες; :P
pero tambien te faltaron otros exitos...como sandie shaw en el 1967..y lulu en el 1969....>:( >:V
Lulu only winner 1969
Puppet on a string?
1997 is the best full stop, 2011 could have been great but the performance let us down. 1990, 1992, 1998, and 1999 were good as well.
:D HOLLAAAA!! THNX
you're right with 2011 but no with '96 and '97 . it was actually 1976 and 1968 . :D
i don't know :( i don't think i will do other country until the contest ends..

You forgot 2009!!! E>It'sMyTime
no 1 is bang on, probably our greatest entry, however, I don't think we have lost interest, its more of a case we get contradicting information from fans and judges, fans ask us why we don't send big names and say they will vote if we do, yet when we do, ie in the case of blue, the judges accuse us of trying to get cheap points, and mark us down. 08: bad voice and a very remarkable, good melody
07: ok

1.1984 Love Games (underrated) 2. 1996 Just a little bit , 3. 1985 Love Is . Didn't like any of after 1996, even UK has produced one of my fav band's and songs in the 80's like Human League.
So initeresting that the 3 and 4's made it - while one's and two's didn't...
Sorry but Love enough for two from 1980 was better that Making your ming up from 1981. Contest 1980 was much better that Contest 1981.
10. The latest one I like
9. Oh! I like this song
4. I like it's melody but not the lyrics
3. I don't like it that much
