I am so happy to hear from Jack Kornfield about Ajahn Chah. I heard so much about him and it felt like this secret teacher. This is a great episode to get to know him. Thank you so much Jack!!!
From the highest existence down to the lowest, whatever groups of beings there exist, whether with or without a physical form, conscious or non-conscious, may they all be free from dukkha, and enjoy the happiness of Nibbāna. The book Jack speaks of at 28:20 is Stillness Flowing by Ajahn Jayasaro.
These monks changed my life. For years confused by Mahayana then one day I came across the Ajahns and Theravada and all of a sudden the path and the Buddha made sense. 🙏🏻
Hi Mike, he is referring to Ajahn Jayasaro's biography of Luang Por Chah called 'Stillness flowing'. It is an amazing book and it is for free as well. You can download it here in different formats: forestsangha.org/teachings/books/stillness-flowing?language=English 🙏
Of course at our fundamental nature is consciousness itself. However, there's no reason to believe that consciousness is not brain/nervous system activity. Which would essentially mean we are identifying as an electrical/chemical phenomenon.

Stillness Flowing is a great, great read. It is also available as an audiobook podcast. Thanks for sharing - great recommendation
@@iwalkinpeace yes I have a copy of the actual book, found on ebay, it is huge, 700+ pages and I did listen to the recording which is amazing.

Danny Klaassen thank you!
The english monk (arhanja po?) sounds like the story of Goldilock.
