- The Vintage Auto Racing Association (VARA), was founded in 1973 and has become the largest vintage racing organization on the West Coast. Comprised of many different vintage cars, com race weekend it isn't unusual to find various 2002s, 510s, 240Zs, Corvettes, GTVs, and many more cars. Racing hard and racing clean is what VARA members strive for, and it is easy to see the camaraderie during a race weekend as members share knowledge, parts, and an all around good time. Likening vintage racing to an addiction, Ken Blasko and Jeff Ireland have come to know the excitement, feelings, and adrenaline that comes with racing a vintage car. Their advice? If you have wanted to race all of your life, come out and try it because you never know what tomorrow brings.

It's lovely to see these vintage cars being treated like cars and not like prized possessions that rarely see the Sun. They're driven hard and i believe that's part of the car's destiny. It was made to be driven. Loved it!

This episode could be atleast 5 times longer! I hope you will give us some more footage from these cars. Preferably from either the nasty sounding yellow alfa, the P1800 or the "deathtrap" (last car) as Anne called it. ;-)

yea, they most certainly were deathtraps, if you are going to crash and roll, the best thing to do is jump off. look for a youtube video called vintage race car crashes. Whats really amazing is the speeds guys (and some gals) were willing to go in some of these early machines....
oh man, you guys clearly dont love that smell, that feeling, that sound and everything that accompanies these cars :)

i grew up around racing in general drag racing i love drag racing but the door slammers are were the true test is. its more fun to lol but know im leaning tawrds auto cross and time trials. becouse thats were a real test is lol plus the rush is longer then 10 secounds

Ethereal Kamil I do autocross and track days but I don't have enough $$$ to race in a series. Another year or so and will be much closer to roping in others!

I am in the middle of restoring an E9 and this is giving me a serious racing boner. By that I mean I am giving serious consideration to stiffening up the suspension and budgeting for a more aggressive cam...
