Hi Jordan, as someone who moved states when I was in middle school and had no new friends and it really messed me up, I would recommend you do go ahead with pushing your boys to meet new friends/go to summer camp once you move to the new state. As a young kid being removed from your friends to a whole new place where you don't know anyone is really hard
I think enjoying the summer with the boys is a great idea. When school starts in the fall you can plug them into homeschool groups and they will make friends .

Different states require different amounts to be paid. For example, Maryland requires taxes, tag and title amounts as well as a new license. Pa requires tags, title and license. Check online for the state you're moving to to see requirements. Oh yeah, when I say taxes for MD, they literally charge the full amount of state taxes for a car being moved into the state. I was told that my used - paid off car still uses state resources.

A copy of your lease on the address your moving too for proof of new location, change your address at post office, teach the boys their new address .❤❤❤❤❤
liciences in michigan are 26 dollars for standard...tags are by weight of car i think usually less than 200...its the insurance that will kill ya sadly it's based on credit score and how long you've carried consecutive insurance and location 😢....i buy mine through north carolina and you should be able to keep what you already have but have it re issued to cover you in michigan

Great job with cash stuffing! Have you announced yet where you are living state wise? We just downsize from a 25.6 ft.³ refrigerator to a 7.5 ft.³ refrigerator! I was tired of food being wasted having an oversize refrigerator that we really did not needand it’s done wonders! Shopping only once a week or once every other week that’s it! We did buy a new 18 ft.³ refrigerator for the basement to just hold extra drinks, extra sauces, and condiments and things of that nature but the one in the kitchen super Duper small, but it does have a refrigerator freezer which can stick quite a few things in there and it’s not small 10:20
Things you'll want to have before moving and/or during the move; Birth Certificates for you and kiddos (which you have to go to the courthouse in the county you were born in), Social Security Cards for you and kiddos, Money for last minute meals after moving stuff or if arriving late. (pizza, takeout, etc.) Things you'll have to take care of after moving; new drivers license, register vehicle in new state and turn in old plates, change mailing address, change address manually on business and personal accounts, etsy, credit cards, insurance, etc., find a local bank, checkout local homeschooling programs for the kiddos, each state has different homeschooling programs and you may find one that works better for you and your family :)
I have the monthly binder and the 50 envelope binder. I am using the 50 envelope to get a month ahead. My monthly binder is used as monthly expenses. What I can stuff in the 30 day portion I use for my 50 envelope binder.
Lakes are your best options for "beaches". You might have a hard time getting used to the sand. It's much courser than ocean sand and has small pebbles mixed in. Pick lakes with the best water quality. Here in Iowa many lakes in our area have been closed due to water quality the past few years.

A great beach in MI is Silver Beach in St. Joseph! Children's museum across the street, great pizza place, splash pad, playground, pretty beach and somewhere that you can park once and get to lots of fun stuff. I live in SW MI and it is worth the over an hour drive to get there.
Depending on where you are in the Midwest, but I am in Indiana near the Mississippi River. No, the river is nothing like a beach area. I grew up surrounded by ocean and I feel you on wanting that salt water. Lake Michigan is okay and a great place but not the same. Also we have 4H which has loads of programs for kids as well as out local library. That said you will have to have a local driver's license to get a library card. If you already have your new house you could easily get your license and plates next time you are there. Plates here run on a yearly fee depending on your last name so if mine were due in October I would pay a partial year to start until October came around. Also National and State parks are really great here anyway and always kids around to play with, swimming and hiking trails. Sorry to be lengthy but I hope that helps! Also just got my 100 envelope set and we love it! Doing it with my grandkids. ❤️

Hi Jordan. I bought the Christmas saving challenge and I wanted to start on day 31 but only got up to 30
I know you mentioned in another video that you just got car tags in your old state. And will now need new ones in your new state. I know for Virginia, when you turn in your old tags (after you get your new ones) to the DMV office, they will prorate the time and give you a refund. Hope that helps.

The only advice I have is find out the order you need to do things to register the car. I moved to a state that you had to have the car inspected and registered with the county prior to getting my new license. Someone stood in line for over 3 hours to be turned away because the car was not registered, after several people told him so, and multiple signs at the licensing office.
My goal is to get a binder for each month and stuff them all slowly so I have 12 months saved up.

Will you ever share which state you moved to? I live in the Midwest too. There are tons of areas around to go to for water. Boundary Waters up in Minnesota is nice. There are some nice lakes in Iowa that we go to.

When my sister made the huge move from Washington to Florida she found a homeschooling group that went along with there values ect. The only other like BIG thing she did was she waited and found deals on yearly pass to the zoo and the aquarium. That had kid friendly things throughout the year. Best thing she said she did. Kids made friends she made friends ect.

Oh Red Rock Lake looks great by Knoxville, Blue Heron Lake looks pretty too. All easy drive for you. Longer range - definitely Lake Michigan and the coast of wisconsin and michigan. We love Duluth and the "North Short" which is the upper part of lake michigan.
