@ it’s not a public vote? I remember one year recently some Met’s rookie didn’t get a unanimous rookie of the year. As only one person did not vote for him, and I thought everyone knew who it was. (I haven’t followed baseball in 30+ years)
You nailed it with Rookie of the year, MVP, Cy Young, etc. The hall of fame is a bit different because the BBWAA votes for that, so there is an option to keep your ballot private

Absolutely should be a public vote, makes no sense to leave a player like Ichiro off the ballot
