Why is this the case? Is it because the three freezing temperatures and cold could freeze up the bearings of the motor or something? Oh, never mind.... I see now.... I read the description for further research on this Siren and yeah, that's not good at all.....
Does this motor have brushes? Or is it an induction motor? Also is it three phased, or do you know what voltage it draws? I'm just asking and wondering out of curiosity....
@@Blixt1000 Thank you for this information! Even if the off chance it isn't fully accurate, which I'm pretty positive more than likely, you're correct, this tells me more about the Erick Siren which apparently is pretty common in my state, Minnesota! I've also heard how Decot Red Arrow Siren models are pretty popular in Wisconsin, I don't even think those can be commonly found in many places other than Wisconsin? They were manufactured there too. Anyways about the Erick, despite there being a few in Minnesota, I don't think I've ever seen one. I was curious more about the specs of this old siren for awhile. I'm pretty sure you're right, that sounds just about right for it's size to have a single phased induction motor, 220V for more torque too. I hope this Erick frees itself from this lock up soon, and it gets warmer so it can unstuck, because the only thing saving it from burning to the point of damage, is the cold temp cooling it down faster and them shutting it off on time. But there will be a time where it will definitely burn out. If it's warmer there now, hopefully it freed up last Saturday if they tasted, I'm not sure.
@@Blixt1000 I don't mean to bug around, but I just had a quick question out of curiosity. It's gotten much warmer outside since the past few months, and quite a few people including yourself have filmed this unit, but the most recent video of this Erick was about 2 months ago. And I was wondering, now that it's warmer out and it's more likely freed up, is this siren even still working? Or did it actually break? I don't expect you to know for sure exactly, since because it's probably been awhile since you've been there.
Maybe ask Sirens for cities to replace with a Sentry siren. Like 16v2t successor to Erick. 12/16 port version of 16v2t horns have 6 on the bottom and 8 on top.
Erick: decot/son my motor is failing Decot: here take mine Erick: thanks *decot use his back up Black valley motor* Decot: u welcome Father and son ending lol
3:11 Motor go brrrrrr…
And here we have a perfect example of why some communities will opt out of testing when it’s below freezing

the winding down was definitely when the motor gave up
That siren you hear is a nearby Model 7, not the Erick. The Erick was jammed
3:11 Big puff of smoke!
3:11 kwipsy
The siren was like, I quit being a siren

I'm not entirely sure on the specifications of an Erick Siren but, I believe it has an induction Motor, it is Single Phase, and it takes 220V.

It won't break save the rotor for the Sentry siren and goes with 6 horns for the 12 port.
Curious about Erick with Sentry siren then Sentry 15v2t, 16v2t and also 20v2t. 12/16 port version 6/8 horns
R.I.P Erick siren
Replace with a Sentry siren 20v2t with Erick rotor to put on the bottom of the 20v2t and add 6 horns on the bottom of Erick 12 port rotor.
A Sentry 20v2t is a good choice of a siren.
Does anyone want a Cooked motor for dinner?

what's the source of the other siren in the background
It was a Federal Signal Model 7.
Oh no problem, Sentry 15v2t 12/16 port version out of FS model 7 rotor and same 16 ports. 6 horns on the bottom and 8 horns on top.
Where’d you hear this one’s 100 years old? I’m pretty sure there’s some sterlings over 100 years old that have been recorded somewhere.
These types of sirens were built in the 1920s according to some experts.
This is the oldest siren _I've_ recorded so far.
Ask Sentry siren permission if to collaborate with Decot and Erick sirens
Erick: decot/son my motor is failing
Decot: here take mine
Erick: thanks
*decot use his back up Black valley motor*
Decot: u welcome
Father and son ending lol
