They were skilled labors. Unlike today; they worked at their skill and were paid accordingly. Today people think they should make hundreds for a small work with no skill
No matter what ...nobody can become like someone else. Leonardo da Vinci was the only true artist...there will be no another Leonardo da Vinci in this planet.
This video was interesting but the gender dynamics are a mess. Woman grinds pigments while man makes drawings? Every artist referred to by name except the only woman, Susan Schwalb, who is called "This artist"? You should be doing better.
That's Kim Schenk, head paper conservator of the National Gallery of Art, grinding pigments. She is in charge, not oppressed. But certainly the women need to be given their names. Susan Schwalb's work is wonderful and important!
Lovely presentation of this gorgeous medium, thank you!
Wow.... i am in awe of this type of drawing .. it seems so delicate and so unforgiving. It makes drawing so exciting!!!

What an amazing video, watching the process of old masters is inspiring and teaches a lot about their techniques
This is a fantastic, inspiring video. Thank you. I got so inspired I ordered silverpoint supplies. Can't wait to get started.
Highly informative, inspiring video. Cuts right to the subject matter to give a great overview of metal point drawing.
Excelente e instructiva info!!! Muchas gracias 💖💖💖💖
Absolutely beautiful video - thank you!
I've drawn with metal. I've done etching and lithography too. It's great fun.
Just started playing with silverpoint , i love it!....
hey where can i find it ?
I didn’t Know this technique existed, Thanks for the info 😁
Such an amazing video!
Very interesting and well put together
Beautiful presentation ...
Fantastic and informative video. Thank you!
The dog fur... Wtf of precision
What paper do you use? I always wanted to paint like this.
Why do museums constantly see the need to put people like Jasper Johns next to or on the same level with Leonardo. It’s actually absurd.
And Albrecht Durer
Wonderful
is there any reason you can not use ready grounded pastel paper or heavy grammed water colour paper?
Anything that's abrasive enough will work.
it was really great
Gelatin?
Fascinating.
8:44 dont you mean 20th century?
All that beautiful art only to end it with garbage
This is more like cooking

KnoX KnoX
durer, so soft.
I love looking at the metalpoint drawings of the real old masters. But I strongly dislike seeing amateurs practice in this medium.

You realize most of the artists of the time periods were men. You are ridiculous.
