Lyrics :
[VERSE 1]
I've been waiting to believe
In galaxies
Making all my perspective
Disappear
While I was in the clouds
I shone down where you were
Howling at the moon won't change a thing
[BRIDGE]
If you're holding onto sorrow
If you're holding onto sorrow
If you're holding onto sorrow
[VERSE 2]
You don't want me anymore
But your needs can't be my only thrills
You wouldn't think for a second that there's a chance
Because there's hate in the remains
But I guess I won't be with who I belong
My line of focus is centered on narrow thinking
On how to ease a troubled mind
Strange little thing called love
[CHORUS]
Teach me to love
Cause I'm nothing into the void
I need your love
Or I will be caught here forever
Teach me to love
Cause I'm nothing into the void
I need your love
Or I will be caught here forever
The vocals are stunning
Pretty good....
really good recording quality for an amatuer band
This is my favorite ankoop tune.
gives me the chills
they should to make that bass sound more "plucky" (if you hear waht i mean)
you sound great as a band as well hopefully you'll release more material with this in mind
plz do a tinydesk-style video someday
agreed your too good looking to be radio players
I adore this tune, you deserve more recognition for this.
The singer reminds me strongly of somebody I heard before but I could not remember who it was ! But it sounded well ! So good news !
i could refer to loads of singers as well, maybe the best option is not to refer at all, and appreciate ankoop's song as unique (btw their singer is called Romain Sassenhoff (at least that's what's written in the lineup); his main project is @Novokaine cheers
What I can tell because I've been following you for a while now is that you finally have a singer, what is a HUGE point I think. But now, you will have to release more songs like this one and it is your curse ! Haha
to be honest at first glance i thought it would be mediocre freshman/sophomore college poetry, but i gave it a chance and those lyrics are inspiring, honest and relatable for anyone who struggles. More than decent job keep on writing !
the vocals of this song are compelling
Still better than what I heard lately in the radio...sad USSR songs...
Do not be too hard with yourself, you did a good job on this one, as a musician myself I know the trouble it can be to produce such music. So hats off for this one and keep they coming !!! I hope this is only the start of your catalogue and not the end...but that you can never tell.
time will tell
I feel the fragility and transience of life in this song. This is due to the flailing voice of the singer. I like it. Keep it up.
this time the pitch is spot on i appreciate the effort
You can fall Into the Void, as long as you don't stay into it, it is fine. Do not be afraid of your emotions. Time will hold its secret and repair your injuries. No worries.
^^^^ truth. the void is rejecting the strong emotions and becoming "numb". numbness is the real void i think. what makes you numb (anaesthetics) also takes you away from your real self. so better feel into the void while being *aware* of it, than refusing to confront the natural pain inherent to life and being...numb. (numb is only one letter away from dumb think about it.==)
Hey, I've seen your post on Facebook about this song and gave it a try...I must tell I needed to listen it thrice to make my mind and write a comment: my conlusion is: keep it up, it's GREAT !!
your talking about THRICE the punk hardcore band right?
Keep it simple, it has all the emotional depth in it. Loved the lyrics.
We are overflowed with rock songs these days, why would I give MY time, to listen to YOUR music ?
Music is what really binds us together as human beings. Thank you for your precious time.
Bom demais. Musica fantastica. You should add some protuguese subtitles.
I like the songwriting, the overall feel of this tune, even though it sounds a little bitter and heartbroken to me.
It is funny how you speak about love and being into the void at the same time in your lyrics because this is how I feel exactly, especially right now.
strong emotions, especially love and hate (two sides of the same problem), can lead you *there* . Btw after hearing ankoop's tune i noticed the algorithm suggested me many, many tracks called "into the void". it appears that this state of mind is natural, widespread and (hopefully) temporary.
not my personal favorite but no doubt one of the best song they wrote
aaargh, sounds really sad when you know the story behind it, keep it up ♥
what's the story all about?
I hear self-absorption, self-focus, alcool and drugs. I hope you guys are doing good. That being said, that's truly a beautiful song.
i find it interesting that you can actually ***hear*** it right from the recording, tbh i can ***see*** all the above-mentioned flaws, everyday, on business executives, lawyers, social workers... Maybe artists have found a different way to let it all go and overcome the hardships. Not sure though, maybe that question should be asked to an art critic.
@@andreibreton the thing is art critics have a lot to do with critics but they may be less relevant when they're writing about...art
@@andreibreton agreed even if pointing flaws onto others doesnt make you any less flawed
Decent song, that might be remembered because humans will always identify with feeling, sometimes, isolated, alone, spaced-out. Even if they deny it sometimes.
Sounds like you put some effort into the production, i like the creative reverbs on the vocals.
i can understand the story behind this song, the anguish... (i wish you could finish the record)
what's the story behind ?
The end of the song reminds me of "Nothing Else Matters" of Metallica...it's the way the guitarist play it and maybe the sound...stratocaster I guess ? Cool man !
Not half bad as the previous one lol
you are (Moto)rite !👌
Are there other garage band that good in their local shoehole?
"the fireflies" seem to be doing a decent job, no visible presence on youtube though (why?!)
sounds like a fruitful collaboration to me, amateur bands should collaborate more often instead of sulking in a corner, good job ankoop x novokaine.
they did it again actually check ankoop x castel
i dont agree with commentators saying their previous releases were pretentious crap for a happy few (there are so many amateur bands that see their 'art' in this perspective). However, i appreciate your try at making music that actually conveys emotion, and for this purpose it doesn't to be complex or elitist. That's just my opinion though, i don't have an elitist approach regarding music (not at all), i'm just being an ar$e.
Maybe if I had one cent comment to make I would say that there is a notch too much reverb on the singer's voice that could flail the overall performance and make it sound amateurish but I would forgive you that Ankoop because you did a good job on this one.
matter of perspective and style, too much reverb if you listen to rap/pop/metal but natural verb if you're used to how voices were processed in 70/80'ss hard rock, not to mention the whole actual psych scene...this is a nerd debate with many many standpoints. simply put : your judgement is personal. thanks for sharing your point of view. (to me ((((personal opionion))) there is not too much reverb on the vocals, at all.
I adore the fact that you tried (probably succeeded in) writing a song. There are lots of tutorials on yt that other garage bands could listen to for inspiration. There's no excuse for not being able to play a simple guitar chord in 2022 and calling yourself as an artist/band/whatever. However, that's the sad sad way some of 'em decide to follow.
do you feel obliged to rant about local garage-punk-rock bands in every single comment you post?
@@sarahloiseau9012 i kinda agree, you should stay dignfied facing death, what with the silly masks and so forth?!
Do not let this go to despair, please Ankoop, you are not J.S Bach...stop your sad songs and give us the happy sunny side of your art.
You keep mentioning that you play on Red Lizard instruments and pedals, who is he ?
He is a craftsman from Nancy who is aware that each instrument should reflect the personality of its owner. Check his channel @redlizard2985 you're welcome to reach him there.
wow - a garage band that actually tries to write music, with a chord progression and ... lyrics. One of the greatest artist in their local shoehole.
The singer's voice is better on that one, you can hear he set up to the mark.
Structure could be improved, at least you tried. It's OK not to be OK.
I miss the early stuff.
hey I miss my childhood too you know, who doesnt? the greek word for return is 'nostos', while 'algos' means suffering. nostalgia is the suffering caused by an unappeased longing for going back in time. people change, they evolve, so does their music. good to hear their trying some new things, which doesnt mean the early stuff is not part of them as well.
sounds different, the later stuff is probably more reflective of their actual state of mind
Do artists necessarily have to be disconnected? I dig the subtle spaced-out analog delays here and there but please stay on Earth. Don't be the one playing with empty magnetic strips...
You talkin about that ? : ua-cam.com/users/live7QCe14Ohqo4?feature=share
yt wont allow copy pasted url link so type youtube : "Afterparty RS livestream : COLIN PETIT"
@@milojankuvic sounds weird can he hear things lay persons can't? am i missing the point ?
@@frankmason3303 maybe you should ask him directly, in 2023 it should be easy
whats his name again?
Hoping to see a music video of some sort someday, instead of that poor artwork
I would put more EQ in the 700-1000 Hz range to make it sound more Hi-FI. But it is OK for amateur release.
implying peeps aint listening music on their phone nowadays, hands down if you heard the difference, sounds bright enough to me, loud and clear...cheers
@@SarahinSamSarah Funny you should say that cause that's precisely the name of the preset of the multi-band compressor in the mastering chain : "loud and clear"
Are you a Russian band now ANЖOOP ? What with that cyrillic character ? Plz don't do politics, stick to writing beautiful songs. Too many artists consider themselves (inflated ego) on a mission to give their opinion on subjects beyond their understanding. When what they should really do is… working on their darn music.
As twin brothers, some of our art revolves around the theme of symmetry. So really this is simply a stylized "K" but as the saying goes beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So if what you see is a cyrillic consonant instead, it sounds perfectly fine as well. Regarding your standpoint about art & politics : Agreed. 💯
with the greatest respect for those talented guys i feel your music was more authentic before you tried to format it like a pop star karaoke (I do like karaoke though)
you're right only if you consider listeners want to listen to mere backing-tracks, and yt is full of those (no offense i appreciate instrumental tracks as a musician). You're just comparing two clealry different things.
As usual, bass players are useless in rock bands, and this track makes no exception. Gosh, are bassist are going to have balls some day and play something else than fundamentals and following the trend ? Take your responsibilities for god's sake and speak for yourself.
irrelevent comment, for each musical style has its own codes
@@frankmason3303 yere rite, if i want to here a bass hero i listene to marcus miller, why do you keep comparing everything ?
