I cry evey time I hear this song. I think about my dad when I hear it, he passed away 13yrs ago when I was 25. He was a very hard working man and always tried to make sure we had everything. I just hope I'm living up to his expectations to how he raised me. I now have a 15yr old son and an 11yr old son with autism. It's not easy, but I'm trying... It's been almost 40 years since my Dad passed away and 4 years later my Mom. To this day, I still yearn for them and wish I had just a moment in time to tell them that I love them, hug them just one more time. Thank you Bette Midler for such a beautiful song.

I brought my grandmother to live with me and my husband Mothers Day 1990. She was being abused by her son and wife... I could not see her live like that. She told me to get this song and play it (after I had seen the movie)...brings me to tears each and every time. She was the first love of my life and she dedicated this to me after it played on the radio. Rest in Peace Mary Tulip...9/23/1914 to 8/03/2003. The saddest day of my life.
