Legends say the day that the Helldivers get a peaceful extraction, JOEL himself would descend on Super Earth and come to clash with General Brasch. Y'know, to balance out the action.
This got me thinking since Devs are able to tune into matches, I wouldn’t be upset if they were able to operate a boss-like enemy. In this case, Helldivers are chilling at extract - no enemies in sight…but then suddenly you see the warning bar pop up. Although it doesn’t say “Automaton Dropships Incoming” instead it says “He’s here.” (Or something more creative) and it’s just a war machine in the distance approaching the Helldivers
That wasn’t a quiet extraction, that was a very hot extraction. Great show getting out of it. I like your idea of war machines/bosses being sent after particularly successful missions or quiet extractions. Prompt/boss ideas: “Terminid Hive Titan/ Hive Queen Inbound” “Automaton Dreadnought/Heavy Bomber Inbound”/ “Illuminate Processor/Heavy Gunship/Spec Ops Team Inbound”
I like those names, they should add them all as separate boss enemies. I haven’t played the first Helldivers, I only heard stories that illuminate snipers will kill you from across the map. So if I saw “illuminate spec ops teams inbound” My heart rate will increase and I will have to lock tf in lol. Now picture that on a jungle planet or dead planet at night.
One time my team and i took too long and had no more stratagems, I thought we were in for a rough time, so i said "Just run like hell", what I meant was to run around the enemies until the dropship came, but my teammate immediately killed me for "cowardice", imagine my face when not a single enemy showed up, got killed over nothing :(
Yk what's a concerning realization? when you mark a tripod your diver says "heavy" that's charger and hulk level, we haven't even faced Illuminate Enemy Elites yet, but something makes me think we ain't gonna get something as big as Bile Titans or Factory Striders but equally if not more dangerous
Nevermind I googled. It’s the councilmen/the illuminate that sit in the chairs. So far we been fighting overseers, but they were called “apprentices” in Helldivers 1…
@ exactly, either that or obelisks But man it would menacing asf knowing the elites of the other factions are huge while this guy is just a squid in a chair knowing damn well it’s as strong as a BT and Factory Strider and for context the council members could mind control you and invert your controls
There are 2 types of extractions. 1 is the calmest thing ever where you wish something was happening. 2 is literally everything being dropped onto o Your position and barely hanging on for dear life.
as i know, if you want a peaceful extraction you need to destroy all spawn points, just like bug's nests or automaton's bases, but idk how it works with illuminates
except that isn't always a guarentee either. The patrols that are still on the board are just that, still there. so they usually converge on your position, and some patrols still spawn - and if your extract happens to be close to the border of the map, it can seem as if they just 'keep coming' - plus on top of all of that, the little scout fuckers can send up flares and bring in reinforcements regardless - which is what did happen at one point during the early stages of the extraction firefight.
When the mission is chill, I just know the extract is gonna be demonic.

@@Criticalhitventures PLOT TWIST: Saxton Hale-bot of TF2 is the Boss.

Perhaps it’s the fabled illuminate snipers that shoot you from across the map?
Nevermind I googled. It’s the councilmen/the illuminate that sit in the chairs. So far we been fighting overseers, but they were called “apprentices” in Helldivers 1…

The new diver saved your bacon with that laser. 😂
That was a very democratic extraction.
Well done helldiver, may democracy guide your steps

What visual settings do you run in your game? Quality always looks amazing. Love the videos ! Keep em coming!
