It’s PERFECT for kids to see you LEARNING! YES! It lets them see yes lifelong learning is a thing! Saying you don’t know or need to look it up isn’t a weakness it’s a strength and an important skill! Yes!!!!
This is awesome! We have definitely been trying to get the kids to learn more about the foundation and basics of coding and after trying various programs etc., this is a great video! I would add another to the list which would be Beestar's Computer Science program which teaches kids the basics of computer programming! We love it and how Beestar teaches these skills in such a meaningful manner.
This is the place I am looking for😍😍😍. Thank you so much for sharing this free resources.👍👍 I'm also software developer and I want to be a coding teacher for kids. I'm facing challenges how to explain coding for kids. This video gives me remedy...
That’s great you want to teach coding to kids. Your experience in the field will really help them connect the resources to real life job opportunities.
I don't know of anything too new these days. I have been using Code Monkey (not free) a lot with my kids and students, so I haven't been on the hunt for new programs. I did stumble upon some free UA-cam video lessons from other UA-camrs for various free programs (mostly Scratch). Hope that helps!
I don't know about all of the resources, but the Scratch website does have an option to change the website language at the bottom of the home page. Hopefully that helps!
I am glad that my kids are part of Leenabot. I have taken coding and AI courses from Leenabot and this course has changed their life. This course helped them a lot to think innovative and creative skills. Thank You Leenabot team Love you all. www.leenabot.com/Training/
Sorry for pointing this out but learning coding appears, statistically, to help other subjects only because the parents who tend to teach their kids how to code are the ones who are generally more useful in every other subjects as well! Or, when a kid alone becomes interested in coding, then they will also tend to learn other subjects easier. I started coding 40 years ago, without access to computers or having anyone in the family who knew what programming was. I was programming many hours a day, and it wasn’t helpful to my grammar, history or other grades - to say the least:)
@@YourRandom5 I admit that someone spending hours daily with software development tend to have at least one kind of high intelligence, but it sounds just too flattering:)
Thank you I love & like your page Good luck to you. X Sending love your way, you gave us a great idea! Most grateful to your video on UA-cam Thank you for sharing more information as to how to teach
I really don't think there is a right or wrong answer to this question, it all just depends on your family. There are programs that have been created to teach basic logic concepts to younger children so you can start then, but I don't see any harm in a students getting started later either. For me, I just wanted my kids to be familiar with the topic, so I love using code.org or Code Monkey to let my kiddos just play on the sites as free computer time. They think they are playing games, but they are really learning and practicing coding skills. :)
@@antonioherrera783 Oh wow! That is so awesome! Congrats on your new position and good luck implementing the program. Those kids are lucky to have you as their principal!
NOT TRUE .. coding does not teach you life skills. People with LOGICAL skills make great coders NOT the other way. I have seen it for fact. And coding is so over rated. It has become a scam selling it as a need for kids,
Yes, our college system is not what it used to be. I think trade skills should be focused on more in schools. Some high schools have strong CTE programs and we need more like them.

Thank you very much, you are a Blessing, I did not find computer classes here in my area where I live in Wis.

This is such a good point, thanks for pointing it out. It does put into question the causation vs correlation of the study.
"Or, when a kid alone becomes interested in coding... " so you are basically saying that stat is right?
@@YourRandom5 I admit that someone spending hours daily with software development tend to have at least one kind of high intelligence, but it sounds just too flattering:)
The percentage to make it to college was only 17%. So you are stating an option
