I knew Sophia Coppola made my second favorite Bill Murray film, but had no idea she had a connection to Rushmore, my favorite Bill Murray film.
And just to think I was lucky to meet her and was almost an extra in Lost in Translation as I was living in Japan at that time (still do). So when the agency asked me if I wanted to be an extra in a Bill Murray movie...I thought they were pulling my leg as they knew he was my favorite actor. In the end they didn't use many extras. :(
Even hearing this it's hard to believe he never acted before. Because he not only acted in Rushmore his CHARACTER was acting constantly He was DOUBLE acting in this movie.
The casting director knew his family "somehow" ... the Coppolas
The Coppola family. Entertainment industry magnates, the best-known family members are Francis Ford Coppola, Sofia Coppola, and Nicolas Cage. Other members include actor Jason Schwartzman and director Gian-Carla Coppola.
Piranhas are a very tricky species.
rest of interview?
.."Who sold you that CROCK?"..
Disappointing that Jason seems just like a million other nasal voices hyperactive actors.
Disappointing that your comment is just like a million other lazy comments on UA-cam
Somehow the casting director knew his family....somehow.... Look, I LOVE Rushmore and adore Schwartzman in that role and others but lets dispense with the silliness. He's a Coppola.
True but he was PERFECT for this role.
Plenty of people with famous families don't become or stay famous or working. He's just a great guy :) Connections bring you opportunities, but he still had to get the part.
Thank you.
