I love how everyone is so self-aware of their own villainousness. Normally i would say the better villains are the ones with ambiguous, grey morality but this movie flips it on its head so much to the point where they just say "yeah, I'm a villain. So what?", that it's good again.
I think they were never really worried the pyramids would get damaged by the soft kid. But rather that the pyramids would damage the soft kid lol

If you're ever into an emotional movie watch 'Coco'. I can watch that movie 50 times and I'll ugly cry 50 times. It's Pixar, so... It's beyond beautiful.
It's such a beautiful movie, and yes, I fully on ugly cry every time I see it!

I enjoyed the 3 despicable movies, not so much the minnions movie, was just nice to see the develpoment of gru as the films progressed and agnes was constantly adorable an possibly my fav character. I have always put it up there with mega mind in terms of quality and story, especially as both technically deal with anti heros becoming heros

the woman in the pink dress reminds me of Umbridge fro Harry Potter. lol

Have you seen Road to El Dorado? It's Dreamworks and it is incredible! Super funny, gorgeous scenery, and the music is all by Elton John.
When this movie came out, i was in high school. I believe 10th grade. We all got together and have a movie night watching it for the first time. Good memories:) minions are annoying.

I really don't get why people love to hate these movies and minions so much. I get that it's a simple and more fun or even childish to many people movie but at least it has a wholesome message. Not every movie needs to be deep, complicated and filled with action, all a movie needs is heart and these movies have it.
Actually, the first movie has heart, the rest don't. Illumination realized that they can just put anything out thete and make money, the rest Barely Have a Story or a Plot!
@@ederdiaz1639 That's true but they're still fun and lighthearted. And they're self aware at least that they don't have a important message or a big plot and just focus on silly little things. And that to me is much better than what most movies these days offer with forced messages and storylines just to creat certain emotions (like most Pixar movies do) or try to create an overly complicated story that you have to watch 10 "explanation videos" so you can understand what even happened (like most Marvel movies). To me a good movie could be from any of those categories but AT LEAST they have to be self aware, and I think Minions and the Despicable movies are very much that and they don't just pretend to have more than what they sell. Which is silly, lighthearted, fun movies. Nothing wrong with that if it makes money because kids love to watch these type of movies. Cause Marvel and every other studio does the exact same thing but adjusted to what adults want. It's business any ways... of course every movie is made to make money, otherwise they woudln't make them in the first place

Now let's not be pretentious here because we all know that there are movies that end with many loop holes and things that we have fill up ourselves to have the full picture or a conclusion. For example since you wanna make it personal, YES I have watched those "sinful" videos before for certain details about the Harry Potter movies since I haven't read the books and the movies had many "assumed" information just because they had to fit everything in the movie (which I'm not complaining about because thank god we have the internet) but also many Marvel movies (to fill myself in about comic book facts that I didn't know) and MANY more indie and small films that revolved around a themed that I either had to research to understand the reference or the director/writer/producer left the movie openended and wanted to see what theories and outcomes everyone esle came with...
But I guess you need none of that cause you possess the knowledge of the universe and there's never been a movie that left you with a question or wondering to know more.
Well sorry for being a less developed being than you are I'll try to be better from now on, thanks for the encouragement and your understanding of us stupid mortals!!
True, i loved the first movie, the second was funny at times but for the most part was pretty average and boring. Rest of them felt like they were completely made for profit and had no other reason to exist. In fact, my dad (who is in his 40s btw) loved the first one because he thought it teached you a good lesson about how you should always care and put effort into the things you love (like gru saving the 3 girls because he loved them for example), but he hated the rest of them cause he thought they were "mindless" junk movies.

Yeah, gru gives these unknown little creatures actual benefits, like yoga,and dance clubs apparently. Even if he didn't develop at all as a character, but decided they were useful, their lives would still be better than they were under that thing that ran the orphanage

Other people already recommended Coco and Road to El Dorado, which are awesome animated films that I love and I would also want to recommend Atlantis, Book of Life, Kubo and the two strings, Paranorman, Spiderman: into the spider verse, and Spirited Away. There are so many animated films worth a watch but these are some that come to mind right now. awesome reaction and commentary as always.

My favorite part was when the mother said to Gru "You´ve turned out to be a great parent! Just like me, maybe even better" I know it sounds like she is disregarding the fact that she was not a good mom, but at that moment Gru could sense that she was finally proud of him and you can see it on his face, and I feel it could also be seen as her indirectly admitting not being the best mother for him and that she knows it, but she won´t openly admit it. I don´t know why, but parent characters always get to me somehow, especially those that are unnecessarily tough and that toughness on the child comes from a place of love but won´t openly admit it.
I am almost 90% sure I am reading to much into those words, but that's just what happens to me with parent characters.
