Their voices are the only instrument. Study voice and singing, it will help if you know how to play an instrument, but you don't need to use it for this chanting.
Nice chant, but the deacon and cantors should not be joking around in the background while another person is singing. Singing to the Lord is serious and must be handled with reverence.
