Having never seen this show before, it was fascinating to hear about how much love and passion was put into the project, and how everyone cared about it behind the scenes too. If the network had just believed a little bit more, trusted the potential, and been more hands-off with the material, or even come out a few years later, especially with Noelle DuBois' portrayal of Dr. Sterling, it would be more well-known and had more seasons. Alas, one can only wonder about the possibilities, and be grateful for what we have....

I wasn't allowed to watch pbs growing up, but skinemax was okay, for some reason. Whilst my peers had Elmo and Mr Rogers, I had Andrew Dice Clay and Skinemax. It honestly explains a whole lot.
Nice to see that Cinemax and the movie channels that were on cable TV did not get lost to the pages of history. Interesting to see such an in-depth presentation that delves into the adult-oriented block of "after dark programming" and acknowledging that it was indeed a real thing. Also, 31:25 - speaking of jealousy in relationships getting in the way of acting careers, I bet you know the story of Liam Neeson's wife forbidding him to accept the role of James Bond (she was his girlfriend at the time, and said she wouldn't marry him if he did it, and the rest is history). Side note: I've never heard the term "crotch opera" before, it's perfect slang lmao.
Okay I'm gonna ask, what is the name of that movie you show clip from with the tall blonde feeling up the short brunette. Its like a famous Skinemax movie (12:04), which for the life of me I can't remember the name.

Amazing. Not only do I remember this show, but I absolutely LOVED IT. Even crazier, my biggest issue with it was all the soft core stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the nudity. But I didn’t need all the sex scenes. This show was actually good enough that I would have watched it on SciFi WITHOUT the nudity. A really good show.
Thank you, I’m so glad you enjoyed the stories and characters. When the show launched the internet wasn’t like it is now, so we only had the numbers to judge audience response by. On behalf of Noelle, Bill, John, and myself-we’re so glad you loved our show
Holy crap... That was Karrion Kross @17:32 😂
Great deep dive. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
I wasn't allowed to watch pbs growing up, but skinemax was okay, for some reason. Whilst my peers had Elmo and Mr Rogers, I had Andrew Dice Clay and Skinemax. It honestly explains a whole lot.
You had good parents or no parents at all. Doesn't matter, you're ok.
Lol were your parents republicans?
@Blarmenify yup
That's what I call good parenting. Deny nothing; be not ashamed in the end you became well rounded.
@@tenebrousoul9368Explains everything 😂
That was really good.
Thanks!
Its an era that is near and dear to my heart and I'm overjoyed to be able to tell a portion of its history
"Crotch Operas" 😂
My favorite new term
Okay I'm gonna ask, what is the name of that movie you show clip from with the tall blonde feeling up the short brunette. Its like a famous Skinemax movie (12:04), which for the life of me I can't remember the name.
Lap Dancing
@@GoodBadFlicks Thank you. I saw that movie like once in late 90's and never again. But for the life of me, I could never remember the name....only the boobs.
@@GoodBadFlicks Thanks. I remembered that one scene and for life of me I couldn't remember from what or where.
I remember seeing this on those late Cinemax nights
Talk about what you love, and viewers fill come.

1:24 Is that Jeffrey Dean Morgan?!
yes
if it was made today it'd be on Netflix with a massive budget and be there with the first season of Altered Carbon.
You don't do physics in crop tops and short shorts? Was that why I got those looks?
lol
I just learned so much about sonething I never knew about before this video. Thank you 😊
You are welcome!
I saw this series on DVD a few months ago while looking at a movie depot for something else and thought it looked interesting. I was distracted and forgot about it but seeing this now I'm going to have to go back and hope it's still there!
Never heard of that show before, but will check it out.
For ...eh....science.
lol
