Thank our Creator for the legacy of young Mario Lanza's pure and pristine talent. He was an innocent in the blinding spotlight of users and abusers of the entertainment industry. His studio took advantage of one healthy, gifted young man and coerced him into habits that tortured him physically and psychologically. Other young artists also were mistreated by surrogates of management. Inspite of his suffering, Mario was the consummate Classical vocal musician. His voice miraculously never failed him. The Hollywood industry never broke his spirit. Mario was to open at LaScala and later debut at the Met. His voice and talent was sheer perfection. He never met the peak of his career. Yet no other contemporary could match his skills and passion of vocal artistry. Even today, Haters repeat myths that tried to diminish his unique artistic achievements. Thank God for his recorded RCA legacy and cinematic art films. God bless our endearing Maestro Mario Lanza 🌹
I have read all the books of his life by five authors and found it sad that he did not know where to turn. He wanted to give his family security through Hollywood and because of that his desire to sing on the Opera stage was not to happen.
Critics at the time said he was not up to sustain his voice on the Opera stage. Rubbish He sang at the Royal Albert Hall in 1958 seating 8 thousand with just a Piano backing him for a Recital that lasted over an hour . Such a Tragic man but never to be forgotten.

Я наконец определился с певцами которых я слушаю больше 50-лет. Обоим я посвятил стихотворение. Этот голос - пламя из костра. Это мощь бурлящих водопадов. Теплый луч встающего утра. Золото сверкающих закатов. Такие голоса рождаются один раз в сто лет . Первый - Ланца(Кокоци) мог быть только с итальянскими корнями. Мне очень жаль, что ему не удалось спеть оперу в " Ла скала". Второй - для меня не король рок-н-ролла, меня больше трогают его лирические песни, баллады. В моем сердце они рядом.

Сегодня 7 октября 2020 года этого прекрасного голоса с нами нет уже 61 год -- красивей и мощней голоса нет Очень жаль что он очень мало прожил всего 38 лет и не смог исполнить планы на1960 год. ТАЛАНТИЩЕ!!!! Много артистов с великими голосами ну этот голос не превзойденный

The way this remarkable man's rare and magnificent talent was exploited and misused by HOLLYWOOD is one of the most poignant tragedies of the twentieth-century. Mario had EVERYTHING except enough horse sense to avoid the temptation to go for the glittering, meretricious false "avantages" offered him, and he lacked the right MENTOR to guide him through the shoals to the GREAT career in OPERA he SHOULD hve had. To think of his early -- totally UNNEESSARY -- death brings me to tears to this very day just a it did dirty-one years ago -- during my freshman year in college. "How fragile is the chariot that draws the human soul!"
