A better less violent way to takeoff the rotor is, get two M8x1,25 bowl and thread them into the two threaded portions of the rotor around the hub. Tighten them down equally and gradually until the rotor pops off. They only need to be maybe an inch long or so if they’re longer that’s fine they will still work .
Not sure if you said it. But when pressing the caliber in. Remove the brake reservoir cap. It helps release any back pressure your causing from depressing
Before you reset the caliper piston, it's a good idea to remove the cap that covers the brake fluid reservoir. If you don't, you'll be fighting against of brake fluid pressure
I would never do that! Yes, it's a bit more challenging retracting the piston, but moisture and air in your brake fluid can cause significant brake fade or outright failure! I'll take a bit extra 'elbow grease' to ensure my fluid stays sealed.
Thank you for such a great video! It's informative and very detailed! I just subscribe! You should do a video for 2018 Camry Hybrid brake replacement too!
I noticed in the video you used the more expensive 'factory' brakes instead of the 'economy' brakes from Toyota. What other brake hardware came in the box? Shims? Pins? Grease? Thanks in advance
Plz don't ever use a factory Jack to change your rotors/pads. That thing is there for one purpose, to get a spare on your Vehicle ASAP to get to a dealership. I wouldn't recommend it for that either, invest in AAA at least!
It's been 1 year and so far so good I do recommend them because they are more affordable and for your convenience I am sharing the link with you thanks for watching 😊 www.amazon.com/dp/B07RDMKQ2Y/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_DWQ8TNZR2S9173BYMVQX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I"ll still work, but you should put shims because it"ll help to keep pads away from rotter while break is not in use. So less noice and more pads life. Also shims help to make noise to remind you it's time for new pads.
I see what you mean but when I removed the wheel as you can see in the video the screw wasn’t there it surprised me to because I bought this car brand new and this was the first time I did brakes and rotors so I just put it back the way it came off on both sides because at that point I didn’t have any those screws But yes my brakes are working perfectly until now I almost drove 30k miles and still works perfectly
Never get slotted/drilled rotors lol complete waste of money you don’t have a race car lol it’s also going to burn up your brake pads a lot faster. Regular rotors are just fine and your brake pads will last far longer.
If I remember correctly I did my brakes and rotors around 30k miles and those brake pads and rotors are original came with brand new car from Toyota and the reason was to change them because when I hit the brakes on highway speed my steering wheel was shaking crazy so clearly my rotors were bad and now I have 75k miles and same pads and rotors working fine on my car I guess I’m not using brakes anymore 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for info it good that you share info with us which is good But I only used anti seize between rotor and hub On the pin and in the rubber boot I used grease
Thank you for a very clear and detailed video on this. Great that you started with what tools and supplies are needed before we start.
Thanks man
Thank you for the video. It was easy to understand because you took time to explain why you were doing each step.
Just changed my brakes for the first time at age 40. Preciate Ya. Thank You
Mate, of all the videos I've watched urs is the most informative. Thanks my curry friend, I mean that in the nicest way
Lol 😂
thanks bro

@@lprocter1982 Cracking the cap for a few minutes will have zero impact on moisture and air getting in the brake fluid.
Awesome, you gave me the courage to do my own brakes
I m glad to hear that
And this was my mission
Very simple illustration and in good light. Some moments were obscured but very well explained. Thanks.
Well explained in detail, thank you !
Thanks for the video.
Thank you for such a great video! It's informative and very detailed! I just subscribe! You should do a video for 2018 Camry Hybrid brake replacement too!
Thank you so much I would love to make that video when i get a hybrid camry
Next When taking off rotors U should always lift both sides of the Car👍 makes the job easier
when compressing the piston do you have to open the brake fluid cap?
It's good if you lose it little
But I didn't
Is there a video on the rear brakes? Also how to correctly install hardware
Yes

The best to do it NYC MOTO! thx YOU
Wow that’s handful of work
Thank you good sir!
I noticed in the video you used the more expensive 'factory' brakes instead of the 'economy' brakes from Toyota. What other brake hardware came in the box? Shims? Pins? Grease? Thanks in advance
Only metal shims
Only metal shims
Great video I'll use this for my 2020 camry le, !!!
Thanks for sharing an awesome job brother!
Well explained!
what size C clamp are you using? Do you have a link for it?
I used 6" c clamp
Well explain I’m going to get mine done tomorrow

Well you right but if u put the spare tire under the car is not too bad but you can use jack stands to be save
You can lol all you need is extra support on the other side & bricks on the back tires
This is a good video if you are try to do the wheel bearing on this vehicle he shows you the back four bolts you don’t have to press it
What is the torque spec for the bolts?
@moon11230
Is similar to the trd camry?
Great job
What Brand Of Slotted/ Vented Rotors did you purchase?

Helpful 👍 thank u
Do you have a video that for 2018 camry rear rotor replacement?
Yes I do have that video also
What if you dont put the shims
I"ll still work, but you should put shims because it"ll help to keep pads away from rotter while break is not in use. So less noice and more pads life. Also shims help to make noise to remind you it's time for new pads.
What’s the link to the rotors you used?
Power Stop JBR1763XPR Evolution Performance Drilled, Slotted & Plated Front Brake Rotor Pair a.co/d/btRBuRw
nice job
Thanks bro 🙏
you set the rotor in the contrary rotation direction.
Why u say that when you buy rotor u don’t buy right and left I don’t think so but I may be wrong .
Great video!
I dont understand why there are dislikes lol
How many miles when you did this?
37,000 miles
I start noticing vibration in the front so I changed them
@@moon11230 I am coming up on 30,000 miles and mine are shaking when braking. I will need to change too
@@moon11230 I have the same car 2019 Camry
Yes it’s time to do it
@@moon11230 ok thank you for the information. I will
Where u buy that ratchet
I have that ratchet since 2012
It’s Stanley product and I bought it from NAPA auto parts
Lol I was thinking the same thing
My turn wish me luck
All the best 😉
Let’s wipe off the new rotor with the same paper towel he’s wiping his oily hands with!!🤦🏻♂️😂 “make sure there’s no oil sitting on the new rotor”
Ummm I bet your braking felt horrible considering you neglected the rotor retainer screws...
I see what you mean but when I removed the wheel as you can see in the video the screw wasn’t there it surprised me to because I bought this car brand new and this was the first time I did brakes and rotors so I just put it back the way it came off on both sides because at that point I didn’t have any those screws

C clamp saves the day
Yes that’s true
@@moon11230 I was looking for a tool to use for the calipers but couldn't find one, then boom your video comes up.
I am glad that my video was able to help you

Used way too much anti seize!
Was told once by a mechanic not to use anti-seize. It not good for the rubber. Use brake grease instead.
Thank you for info it good that you share info with us which is good
But I only used anti seize between rotor and hub
On the pin and in the rubber boot I used grease
