One of Favorite Rap Groups of all time ..still listen to those 2 classic albums till this day!! We need the Tiny Desk live Performance in 2024!! Blessings & Nuff Love Digable Planets- The Soundtrack to my life for 30 yrs!!!
Lauryn Hill is my favorite female MC of all time, but Ladybug’s flow is my favorite of all time and I LOVE the tone of her voice so much! As soon as she starts rapping, the tone of her voice soothes me and simultaneously sends shivers up my spine, lol.
I saw them live in the summer of 93 on the jazz stage at Glastonbury. It was the greatest gig of my life. Long haired hippies and afro blacks all got together across the tracks and they partied.
Great interview! Blowout comb was so different to what was out at the time - it could drop now and not sound dated. When I heard Ish's verse on Camp Lo's album in 97 I was so amped to hear from him again!
Doodlebug - "Back then it was all about originality" Now, not as much. Most of the time today when someone does come up with an original style that's a hit everyone else jumps on the band wagon and it becomes the new thing, so lame. I miss the good old days. Props to DP's!
Big up to one of my favorite groups of creative artists. Caught them twice in Michigan. Bout '94 at Michigan State (I believe) w/Gumbo (group affiliated w/Arrested Development) & '07 at Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In blind pig, absolute worst part for me was the excessive smokers in that lil' hole in the wall. Absolute best part was hearing them, personally greeting them, & having a copy of their CD to be signed but decided to let other people get their time to appreciate them. Remember taking a chance on their first album because at the time it's cover art just kept grabbing my attention in the record store but hadn't heard a cut til I caught a video. Then it was on & I put many friends on to them. Got both albums(CD & vinyl), compilation albums, numerous featured albums & sound score features, & a few of their solo projects (movies including Ish). Would love to hear new music if their genuine about being creative & artistic to self first & the passion is there. Recalled prior personal issues w/personalities. Highly appreciated what y'all shared. Your art is appreciated & valued, rock on. Hopefully if it does manifest like a Tribe last album, & hopefully it could influence Dre from OutKast to push thru & create nor matter the age. Long as passion & freedom to create is the foundation... Build on...
@@juicylucy5797 thre is something off about her, it seems that ish doesnt get along with her, she doesnt even post him on ig when they tour and they dont even follow each other
My Favorite Two Albums are D.P's first & second Albums I own both of them the c.d.'s, and both cassettes lol the solo projects I didn't feel them each at all. As a group yall COOL LIKE DAT, BRING THAT PLUS MORE BACK BUT NEW WORK WE WAITING TO BE COOL AGAIN.💯🫂👍🏼👍🏽👍🏾👍🏿

Fair, can't everyone be Lauryn. Maybe wouldn't have got Lauryn without Ladybug do.
Reachin changed me. It's still ahead of it's time.... These guys are unappreciated 👈🍇
💯
Please drop an album or two or three ‘cause, U guys have been away for way too long, but we your fans are glad you’re back & here to stay hopefully.

When that first double single came out, I must have listened to it back to back for a week straight

I love this group but the second album is my favorite I would love them do one song with the Fugees as a collab song who will be fired in the 90s

I miss the good old days. Props to DP's!
Great interview! Fan since childhood!

They've aged well. Just like they're catalog.
I don't know how anyone (music exec. or fan!) could hear the beginning of Blowout Comb and not have their mind blown immediately.
THA KS JAH 4 BUILDING YALL🎉
Why didn't we get more than 2 albums from DP?
I couldn't be happier to see any band from my early 20's still playing live, especially these insects!
