just got my daughter one for her room, we have a real claw in our arcade game room and she wanted it in her room. what a better way to wake up everyday for school being a crane maniac. i love the gameplay if this toy and the lights sound fx. truly the best alarm clock of its kind and way better then the slightly larger toy claw at toys r us with the 3 levers. thats why we wnt with this in place beings it operated like a real claw. wish they would have put a tension slip on motors so they dont rack n over wind.

It's not a bad claw machine for being a competitive one. I will give them that much of a bonus (especially since they added the alarm clock function which helps me out as well). Only thing is you have to find tiny prizes (like little balls) to put in there which isn't too bad but it can get a little boring for the kids to win just gumballs and bouncy balls all the time.
The mechanism is really....not the best. I didn't use mine that much and already the forward and back function got stuck. Taking it apart and come to find out the gear on the motor for that function got chipped. Probably from it constantly going too far forward too much.
Recommendation for the manufacturer:
What they should have done is done what "The Claw" does: Have two switches on the side to side mechanism (one on the right side and one on the left side) and have two switches on the forward and back mechanism (one on the front of the mechanism and one on the back) so if the thing goes to the side as far as it can go it can push the switch and stop the current to the motor for that function (same thing happens with the forward and backwards functions). That way it stops the mechanisms from clanking and grinding the gears to where they wear down.
