  • As always, I like to keep things quiet and serene. It's all about ambiance, so I hope you thoroughly enjoy watching.
    For those looking to take on this hike this video can serve as a visual guide of sorts. Took appx. 7-8hours to complete however this is due to taking frequent breaks and having a gentle pace to save my legs for the descent.

    I always like to take plenty of breaks when I am out hiking, I can never understand how some people just want to put their head down and keep in hiking, I want to enjoy the surroundings and feel the nature surrounding me. You got some great views there on your hike and some stunning views from the high points. I never expected to see sheep there, so I learned something new today, cheers Alan

      Especially on brutal hikes like this one. In Kenya we refer to them as Team Subaru due to the not so great reputation of the brand’s drivers wanting to overtake and maintain pole position on everyone for God knows what reason. 😅
      Thanks a ton for the comment. Loving your stuff too brother.

    The views look amazing. I am from Arizona in the US and it's so crazy how the shots of those trees (are they some kind of yucca or euphorbia) remind me of the saguaro and joshua trees we have out here.

      Thank you so much for the comments Kasandra, unfortunately I’m extremely poor at dendrology so I have no idea what kinds of trees they are.😁😁😁

    🔥🔥just enchanting, you captured the familiar landmarks of this trail, hence you literally took me back once again...I was there on the 24th Jan this year and it was a hot one as per usual😅. Thank you for another beautiful video👌, am a big fan of the Aberdares

      Thanks Nancy, it truly is a marvel isn’t it. Well notwithstanding the torment of the 3 hills before the moorlands. 😄

      @@Lebbzwueh it starts tough🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️, my body wasn't prepared it was resisting mbaya sana, but my mind and imaginations were wild and so i kept pushing until "turbo ikafunguka" somewhere after the lonely tree and the rocky area😅😅nothing could stop me not even the fact that turn back time was fast approaching ...

      @@Lebbz We were wondering, how humid Kenya is? Because we would dream to hike there, those landscapes are amazing, we can deal with high "dry" temperature, but humidity kills us ;)

    • @Lebbz
      @Lebbz  3 роки тому +2

      @@TheWindyBurrow Kenya is a special country of varying climates. This hike is in the aberdare ranges so it's usually cold, windy and rainy so very Scottish weather so to speak. My Ololokwe hike was in the desert regions of the Northern part of Kenya and is extremely hot and dry (zero humidity). However if you go to the coast of Kenya near the Indian Ocean it's very humid. I loathe humidity too so I'm much more thankful that the majority of Kenya is very comfortable and mostly cool with low humidity. You guys should definitely come, we have perhaps the best weather in all of Africa it's why so many Expats move here. It's the Goldilocks zone of weather lol.

    Is it friendly for beginners

    • @Lebbz
      @Lebbz  3 роки тому

      Hi Winnie, I definitely would NOT recommend this hike for a beginner as it is considered one of the tougher hikes in Kenya besides Elephant Hill, Satima and Kinangop. If your legs and lungs aren’t up to speed for 6-8 hours of non-stop walking and climbing I recommend you start with friendlier ones. The Chyulu Hills hike in Makueni is a great example of one.
