My Bayang X 21 tried to kill me on a launch flew straight at me. ( Big heavy Billy hell fast and my fault for rushing the calibration . And I had the transmitter in my hand ( dual GPS)!I just in last few days received the Specta ( but can't download the app) and the Potensic Comet SE and my Ruko F 11 pro s. Great drone. Have a house full of the Phantom size Sema's and others and still my favorite build and size. They can straddle all these minies and make them look like little kid toys to me. Plus 500 gram class class. I'm a rancher and check my miles of fence lines and pan for strays. I'm 80 and too old to saddle my cutting horse. These are useful. Hundreds of miles from controlled air space. I have way more confidense in my big powerful birds returning to home. These little humming birds are good flying cameras but don't think they will last on my mountain range ranch. Dandahermit
I originally cut my teeth on a DJI Phantom II SE and even that big ol' boy did a fly-away. Of course I only recently found out it was due to my proximity to both a military and a civilian airport, and something they are transmitting effs up GPS on drones. I don't think it's intentional, but that signal has lost me a half dozen drones at work. I am VERY happy with my Specta, and am resting it for the winter while I stress-test my new Holyton HT70, but the Specta Mini is still my first love here. On the other hand, yes, it's not likely that it would be built for that kind of rugged usage. Sometimes bigger IS better.
Good review. I bought a mini just last month from amazon, and everything seems ok, Working on getting a 2nd battery for it now.....must admit, they are on back order from amazon. :( , so once i get a 2nd battery, i should be ready to go. I made the mistake of buying 2 DJI batteries for it, and yes. Found out later, they are not compatible. :( so i have 2 xtra batteries also, hahahahaha. Look forward to flying this in the spring when its not raining always like now in oregon. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years from oregon. Just found ur channel today.
The Specta Mini is my favorite (don't tell the other drones that, they'll get jealous). I fly with so much more confidence with this vehicle. You have many great flights ahead of you Chase. Enjoy!
I hope Specta will make a charging box and trns charger to charge three batteries and trns simultaneously. I've got 4 batteries. I ALLWAYS have plenty batteries So I can charge the all the batteries and trns in about 1 1/2 hrs. Sweet about for the Potensic Comet SE. Dandahermit.
I LOVE my specta mini. Got a case for it (mine came just in a box). Anything that fits the dji mini 2 (except batteries) will work for the specta mini.
@@edstaib9511 It's annoying, but I actually tried rigging up a harness to see if it could be done but the harness destabilized the Mini, so better to lose one bird than both.
Additionally, yes, I know I'm a bit too... talky.. and I'm trying to work on that. More recent reviews I try hard to limit the amount of "me" time in favor of the R/C vehicles.
That is the most prominent and likely explanation. Neither company is saying anything about the subject. Either way I love the Mini, it's a stunningly stable flyer that delivers excellent footage, and as per the review it handles (once you upgrade the firmware) geo-fenced areas that are problematic for other drones rather nicely.
@@StudioKaiju ive just got the Neo..im looking at my next drone..do i go for dji or an outsider...thou in the uk not much choice.i watched a side by side of dji and the cough clone...everything was the same..thanks for the video and the reply...you go t a new sub here
Hi Joe I am wondering about the Specta mini replacement propellers. Will the DJI mini replacement propellers work on the Specta? I'm waiting for delivery of a new Specta. 🤔
Almost 100% certain they will. I was using my Specta to try to do a flyover of a thickly covered bit of back wood area and wasn't paying attention and flew into a tree (Not a recommended move, by the way...) and needed to replace blades. I ordered blades that were prescribed for the DJI Mini and they work just fine.
Thank you. And no, I'm 1,000 % an Android man, and I have had zero issue. I started with a Motorola G Power 2022 edition and updated in August to a Samsung Galaxy Flip 6 and both worked equally well.
I actually used two androids on it so far, a Motorola Power 2022 and a Samsung Galaxy Flip 6 (sweet phone, BTW) and both worked perfectly with it. The physical link takes most of the hassle out of these things, and I hope that eventually becomes the norm for mid-range and up drones. Glad you liked the video.
I presume you are referring to the ability to use FPV goggles. I honestly don't know about this as I don't yet fly with FPV goggles. The best answer I can give you is to find out what DJI's mini 2 can do and apply that to this drone, as they are very nearly identical. I apologize that I can not give you a more solid response.
@StudioKaiju No I wasn't referring to the FPV goggles. Most dji drone have ocusync. And the transmission between controller and drone is very good. I guess I want to know if the specta wifi is better than most drones at this price.
@@arthurv89 aah. My mistake. So you are asking about the video transmission and Remote control transmission. It should be the exact same as the DJI, and I have had absolutely impeccable luck with both. I've never experienced any latency or signal degradation, but also I am a more conservative flyer and have not really ventured more than say 3/4 of a mile out with this. The wired connection between the controller and the phone gives stellar connectivity. The video that ends up on the phone is 1280 X 720 at 7,571 kbps and 30 FPS. Not bad, but nowhere near as good as the video recorded to the micro-SD card. Does this answer your question?

Newly Subscribed and enjoyed your review. I recently just purchased the Specta Mini and I Have to say it is SOLID. Staying Tuned 👍

Finish your fly away story.😅
I do, but in a different video.
It does seem to drone on a bit, but you had great information. I'm wondering if you can use the one drone to push the other drone off the roof?
I mean, that's gotta suck knowing that it's there and you can't get it?

Some say it's not a clone but actually made by DJI to avoid the US ban.....looks interesting
