Truly astonishing possibilities of Johannus' new entry-level organ category, which now incorporates many characteristics of the LiVE line, first of all the well-known samples from the Vater-Müller organ from the Oude Kerk in Amsterdam, Hofkirche Dresden, etc. The sound is beautiful. And all this for the price of the basic model. And the sound is the most important part of the organ, right?
True, Johannus is constantly increasing the number of samples for the LiVE series, but the ones they installed in the Studio are probably the most famous and (just my opinion) the best among the samples (missing, perhaps, only the Bätzorgel Utrecht), and with the LiVE organ you get only 2 samples; the others can be bought and are quite expensive. With the new Studio series, you get twice as many samples, and the organ is about twice as cheap.
In the positive version, the Studio now has only a three-manual organ (P-360). Since it is an entry-level series, it has some disadvantages compared to the more expensive LiVE series (no pedal lighting, no RACO pedal option, only synthetic manuals - no wooden option, no orchestral or solo stops except panflute and trumpet, etc.) , the Studio console looks quite "ascetic" as before, but then again, it's an organ that has the same 2.1 audio system as the LiVE positive organ (2 full-range amplifiers 80 Watt, a bass amplifier 170 Watt, 5 loudspeakers), and from what we can see (or hear) it sounds great. The P-360 has 38 stops, while the LiVE 2P has only slightly more (44), so you can have a three-manual P-360 organ with very similar characteristics to the two-manual LiVE 2P, at a price lower by as much as €10,000!
That is quite astonishing and I wonder how is this even possible? And won't that reduce the interest in LiVE models to a certain extent? Because many of the features of a high-end organ are now available at half the price.
It is unfortunate that there are no positive models of the new Studio with two manuals. It's also strange because there is a Studio 260; then why not the P-260? It would be even more attractive to those who don't need 3 manuals, but want a positive version of the organ.
But, all in all, an excellent new entry-level line of Johannus organs! 🤩🎹🎶

Hello Owen, the organ consists of a standard style-variable disposition and 4 sample styles. Romantic, Historic, Symphonic and Baroque. The stops in one style are filled with the voices of a specific pipe organ. For example, the Historic sample style is filled with stops from the Bovenkerk in Kampen. So, not all the 56 voices of the Hinsz organ in Kampen are in the new Studio, but the Studio disposition is filled in the historic style with the samples from Kampen. Same counts for the other styles with the pipe organs of Amsterdam, Raalte/Paris and Dresden. Besides that, the style-variable disposition makes it possible that specific stops of an organ style can come to life. Merkwaardig om het orgel van de Oude Kerk in Amsterdam als een romantisch orgel te betitelen. Dat is het niet, daarvoor heeft het veel te weinig kenmerken, die bij een romantische stijl horen. Die ene Viola op het bovenwerk maakt het geen Adema, Maarschalkerweerd, Witte of Cavalle- Coll, zelfs niet als Witte de klankgeving wat heeft bijgebogen.
Ik verbaas me dus, als iemand die dat orgel goed kent: heb er letterlijk ongeveer 100 x op gespeeld.
