I’m so glad they introduced Supergirl because Clark is start to get lonely in this season and needs to help Kara to adapt Earth and be a hero like him.
As to the name pronunciation, it has been said both ways in media but it was initially meant to be said exactly like is was written, just like the beginning of Clark's Krytonian Name KAL So KARA (KARA rather than CARUH) is how it has been said more often. Again I have heard it said both ways. To make things even more confusing, her secret Identity was once Linda Lee Danvers, to go along with the Lana Lang, and Lois Lane and Lara names, then it was later changed to Kara Danvers as it is currently in the comics. She also exists in alternate dimensions (or universes as it's called in the comics) in one she is also known as Power Girl and her Birth name is Kara Zor-L and she is also the first cousin of Superman in that alternate Universe. It is not made apparent which Kara Smallville's Kara is: Kara Zor-EL or Kara Zor-L (Power Girl). In the comics Power Girl (Kara Zor-L) also wears Blue and Red along with White while the other Supergirl (Kara Zor-EL) wears the traditional Supergirl outfit. That's not even the tip of the iceberg, of the confusion that is the Super mythos.
The big reasons they did not want him to fly or wear the suit is because, one at the time it was thought that if you played superman it was a curse because of what happened to George reeve and Christopher Reeves even Dean Cain (Dean Cain was the luckiest only being type cast.) (no they aren’t related.) the other actors who played superman in the past, and two they didn’t think it would look good with the special effects at the time. The Supergirl show butchered her name for no good reason it’s Kara not Kora that was the one thing that really bugged me about the Supergirl show for the first season Intel I got used to it I would scream at the screen “that’s not how you say her name!”
Just sayin ... Remember everything you said about Grant. Write it down. Just sayin. Also, if you or anyone else wants some awesome Smallville cast conversations, Michael Rosembaum does a weekly VIDEO podcast called INSIDE OF YOU, and he posts them on UA-cam. "Clark" and "Lana" and "Lois" and "Kara" and "Lionel" (the actors) each have a one on one with Michael. He asks them personal questions, which usually last longer than an hour. They talk a lot about Smallville, but mostly life in general. He interviews a few other Smallville guest stars too, I think. Along with other random actors and actresses each week. I make a point to watch the ones with the main cast, whom he's interviewed each more than once. It's really fun watching Michael and Tom talking like they are best buds.
One comic canon has her stronger than him, others don’t. It goes back and forth. She is for sure more sure of herself and her powers but has a lot of trauma that holds her back.
I always found Smallville's version of Supergirl to be far far FAR superior to the horrendous version of Supergirl that is seen on the trainwreck TV show 'Supergirl' on the CW Network. What makes Smallville's Kara (Supergirl) played by Laura Vanderhoot far superior to the CW Network version of that character played by Melissa Benoist, is that Smallville's Kara character is more so modeled after the comic-book version. That comic book version of Kara is one where she grew up on Krypton and thus it is harder for her to feel any real allegiance towards to motivation for being a protector of Earth. The comic book version (and 'Smallville' version), Kara is also more edgy, hard-headed, independent, and a bit of a rogue loose canon with an attitude problem. When you contrast that with the cluster-f%@k version of the character on the CW Network TV show 'Supergirl', the Kara character mostly grew up on Earth, and thus does not have that rogue dangerous element to her character. In fact, that poor version is played like an uninteresting boring yawn-fest basic latte drinking female, with zero edge to her character. She loves Earth and wants to be its hero just like her cousin. That CW Network version is a poor attempt to make the Kara character a copy of the typical Clark Kent character, but even that attempt on the show was never well done. The way the TV show Smallville (and the comic-books) made the Kara character, they made her character starkly contrasting that of Clark Kent. They are two completely different people, with different attitudes and different outlooks on the issues. IMHO, the handful of episodes that the Kara character appeared in Smallville, is far superior in totality to ALL of the episodes of the poorly done Supergirl TV show on CW Network.
Haha. Your logic is actually flawed for how you figured out Lana was alive. “Because her name [Kristin] was in the opening credits. You’re not fooling me.” Even if they show flashbacks, they will put their name in opening credits. There’s other shows that do this, and the person is still dead. Of course, some shows aren’t as soap-opera(ry) as comic book shows. Where no one is ever really dead, just “mostly dead”. Lol
Haaahhhh... Supergirl. I had such a crush on Laura (Kara) and cant wait for the next episode. People who know why... just know why! 😁

It's in Tom's contract.. No flights. No tights.
Rewatching the show I like Kara better than first time watching for some odd reason
She Lookin Like The Next Buffy Summers
Wait, what? 😂
@@Smido83 I didn't stutter
@@erickwebster1973 And still your comment makes no sense! Who looked like the next Buffy Summers? Noone in the Show even remotely looked like Buffy...
@@Smido83 and still ur comment is irrelevant 😂
@@erickwebster1973 Like yours... and btw, liking the own comment is so wheak... 😂

I always preferred the way they say Kara on Supergirl probably because I watched that show first but also it just sounds better.
Kara is her name from Supergirl
I want to know if either Superman or Supergirl is stronger than each other.

Maybe unpopular opinion but, this show did more justice to the character than the Supergirl show
