@@kdlofty tapioca and sago are very similar although they come from different plants, they both have clear pearls and they are both disgusting, stick to rice pudding.
Wonderful video! My "Mam" lived in St. Helen's during the war. I'm 59 now but heard the stories and recall her speaking of the foods in your video. She came to the States in '46, was always homesick and always missed her parents (never saw them again when she left at 21 years of age). When she passed in '14, I took her back to St. Helen's and laid her to rest with her parents. Jan.17th, would've been her 100th birthday. I had flowers placed on her grave. I live in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Thought I'd remind you, Emma is stunningly beautiful! Happy New Year! Be well! Thanks for sharing!
Aaawww so sorry you lost your mum but what a lovely way to lay her to rest, and I will have her in my thoughts on the 17th of this month! All the best for the new year and thank you for sharing this with us ♥️
We went there around 3 years ago, amazing places. Sago is similar to Semolina, a poor man's rice pudding used to have it with raspberry jam back in school back in 60's
Wow, you wonder what else is hiding away out there probably in plain sight behind a door somewhere. Old telephones ☎️ - good old loop disconnect dialling- we were very poor and had a dial phone long after the DTMF ones came out (they were for the posh people) fascinating and some of the engineering is more interesting than some of the modern stuff the effort which went in and the detail. Fascinating video 🙌 All the very best, David 👍
So unexpected to see you both in reverential mode, appreciating the scale of WW2 efforts to survive. Great vid ! Sago is a starch product from Southeast Asia used to make milk puddings similar to tapioca and rice puddings, all of which i love especially with a large dob of strawberry jam, 😋
Hello Neil and Emma. Hope u both well. How's the Transit coming on plus is the Crafter breathing yet, anyway, loved the Liverpool ww2 bunker video. Very informative and interesting. Best wishes David and Beverley Norfolk
I’ve been to Liverpool many times visiting family and no one has ever mentioned this, thank you for the tour I’ll definitely visit next time I’m in Liverpool 👋👋
well thats a lot different from you both, Neil. I'm glad you showed this venue because myself and a friend have discussed doing a "tourist day" of the Puule and having this as one of the visits. Incidentally, another must see in Liverpool -so I'm told- are the Williamson caves. They were even used in Tennent's stint on Dr Who as location filming. Gotta say, along with the fab Doug rebuild, I'm really enjoying you branching out into other directions. They are really , and I mean really, making the channel even better. Much respect to you both as always- Kenny
Thanks Kenny we oftern put out some thing weird . Keeps it fresh I think untill we are fully on the road . And yes go the Wilkinson tunnels and see if you can get a roof top tour of the cathedral as well that’s amazing
@@UrbanVanlife we are thinking of doing our visit during the light festival at Albert Docks and round Liverpool. We went last year but my camera malfunctioned so I never got any good photos. Hopefully it will be different this year. Another on my list is my first "ferry across the Mersey" It might sound daft as aManchester lad but I really do love Liverpool. all the best- Kenny.
Had a reminder of the Heavy bombing of Liverpool when I was up your way a couple of weeks ago when for walk while waiting to off load and came across the blackstock gardens memorial, the name that stands out was the bellis family all but one killed in the bombing raid
Ace there, have you been down in the tunnels under Liverpool one. Thats a good tour. Sago pudding was called frogsporn when I was at school, revolting stuff.
Hi guys i worked in a house in bootle by the strand shopping centre and the basement was still all set up like it was in world war two with a big table with all little ships on a map and a big board up on a stage where they used to plan attacks from there where also small rooms to sleep in the owner said Churchhill stayed there but im not sure it also had that smell of the war
I heard of this Bunker in Liverpool it was Bombed heavily by the Nazis as they new it was the part of GCHQ in planning D Day. It only survived because it was so deep & under reinforced concrete. Liverpool played a massive part in ww2.
Exactly what you said mate . They shipped a lot of people up to liverpool to work in the bunker and it was the only one to have a direct line to Churchill him self . Some of the stuff you learn down there is mental
A came home thinking ill see if a can get emmas e mail. Find out if Mr sicknote Bean is okay lol. Then there you are with a brilliant vlog. You Mr Neil should be in youre effn bed. Anyway a love all that stuff gonnae take my old man to Milton keyens to bletchley park. Please take it easy mate. Emma and everyone else be lost without you x
This is a brill place for school trips . Folk wont realise all the jobs women done. Munitions. Steel works. Even the late queen trained as a Motor Mechanic . keep up with the brill vlogs
Feeling good mate just relaxing and bringing the blood pressure down . Working on diet and back the gym . So all good now we know the problem and what to do .
That Hitler sign says. Please wear youre mask when Neil lets rip lol . A mind of that livechat 😆😆 Also if churchill fitted into that bath im a monkeys uncle . Take care you 5 xx
Sago was an alternative to rice pudding, it looked like frogs spawn and it was disgusting, schools used it alot.

Thanks for sharing another great video , it’s a shame that today generation doesn’t look at our past history and realise how easy they have it
Oh mate you’re telling me . There also very disrespectful to the past as well like the world owes them something
