Had mine delivered today ordered it last Monday. I've also got 0211 driver with I love. Gone for same shaft and the gen 5 xf. Can't wait for Saturday. Pxg is rapidly becoming my favourite brand. Also got 0211 dual core irons. Absolute quality
Bought the GEN5 last week and it arrived in 4 working days. Thank you very much PXG.
Just saying if Taylormade, Callaway, Ping, Mizuno etc want to do a deal for £250 on their new 2022 driver, il definitely come and review it 👀
Pxg have been massively reducing their clubs of late - I picked up the 0211 dc irons for £65 a club a couple of months back!
Great review Simon. I’m heading to the website now ! Thank you.
Now that’s what I call a challenge! 👏
Just out of curiosity, would you happen to know the retail price of each of the shafts they offer?
@@onehandeddude1293 me too
I did the Gen 4 PXG deal last year ($300 at the time). Well worth the upgrade. Took 1 lesson. Ordered the club, changed my game out of the tee box. It is a very high quality club and sounds great off the face (more of a ping vs knock). 0811X, 7.5 degrees, Extra Stiff 60g Diamana.
Hi Simon, I just finished my fitting for the Gen 5 XF driver yesterday, in Canada, and I also got fitted for irons (0211 XCOR-black, so sick) and a putter at the same time, so I picked up all three club categories. I found out that I was actually a 2-up in my irons, this will change my golfing forever, save my lower back as well. I gained 25 yards on my 7 iron in less than 10 swings, with less effort!!. Back to the driver: I had been gaming a 10.5 degree old TM Burner, R-flex and slicing it like mad, easily 75 yards off-line, into the woods. Got fitted into the 9 degree head, weights custom-adjusted in the head, 65g Stiff-flex Tensei AV Raw Blue. The shaft feels absolutely incredible, so stable and predictable. I would have never in a million years thought that I should be gaming something like that, but my fitter put me in the 9 degree head to bring my spin rates down and to match my swing tempo, which he said was a bit more on the aggressive side. Slice is all but gone, dispersion is super tight (sub-20 yards off line, vs. 75 yards best hit was 6 yards offline on a baby-fade, something I've never hit in my life). And I gained 20 yards off my old driver, which is just icing on the cake. I feel like I can really smash my driver now and game it without feeling nervous off the tee. My driver battle is now over!! I also moved from a mallet putter into a PXG bladed putter, that fits my stroke and there were significant improvements right away to distance control and accuracy since I'm putting more on-line now when making contact. Thanks Simon for bringing this Gen 5 deal to our attention, this fitting and affordable club upgrades will take serious strokes off my game. Ignore the haters that said this was a "PXG commercial", we need to know about good deals and custom options to help dial in our game and take it to the next level! I'm not a great golfer, only three years into the sport at age 41 and just now breaking 100, but I believe I will soon be breaking 90 much faster than I thought. Who knows where my recreational golfing future will go, but it now feels very bright! Cheers!
I got fitted at Modern Golf last year for 0311 irons, and absolutely love them. Gen 5 driver is very tempted.
Just took delivery of my Gen5 yesterday, took it on the course and love it. I really dont know why anyone would spend £399 on a Ping or Taylormade etc.. without trying this first!
Thanks for doing this I’ve been on the fence and now look forward to getting fitted at PXG
Hi Simon, just wanted to let you know that because of you visit to PXG I have purchased a Gen 5 driver. Had a really enjoyable experience with Lloyd at PXG who was knowledgeable and friendly. Having read a few reviews on the Gen 5 it was a no brainer to get fitted for one. A fantastic product and cheap as chips compared to most other top brands. I did let Lloyd know I was speaking with him because of you 👍 Keep up the good work !
I was fitted by Jack for my irons last year . Bought the Gen 3 Xps. Stunning irons Added a Gen 4 rescue wood later. The fitting procedure was very good indeed.
Best damn driver I ever swung and I’ve been golfing for 40 years!!!
Just been fitted by Jack @ Burnham and Berrow. Got the gen 5 XF in 60s diamana. Nice to play around with the shaft and have got the one best suited for my swing. Great service and have also bought the 4 wood. To fill the gap in my bag. Thanks Simon for this video which prompted my fitting and would use PXG service again.
I have a full bag, 0211s with the blade ST irons and index has gone from 8.2 to 5.4 this year! Have already ordered a Gen5 driver and will put it in the cupboard until next year - I know I don't need it but aim to use the new one as my summer driver and prolong it's life by reverting to the 0211 over the winter
I bought Gen 5 driver, 3, 5 & 7 woods in June. They took less than 2 weeks to arrive. Paid full price. Worth every penny. Great clubs length, forgiveness and confidence improvements. Irons next.
I’m off to visit Jack tomorrow, I was booked in but your video has convinced me that it’s a good idea. However with my 80mph swing speed I think Jack has his work cut out to fit me to a new driver!!!
I ordered one last Friday with the Tensei AV White, and it's due to arrive in a few days. You can't beat getting a brand new driver with a high end shaft for that price, plus receiving it within 10 days of order.
Liking the look of that matte finished crown. Very nice.
Thanks for watching Nick 🙌
Mine arrives tomorrow, 8 days after I was fitted for it. Cannot wait!
I bought the (now) old 0211 driver, based on one of your previous videos, it's no exaggeration to say that it revolutionised my tee shots, maybe not the longest but for that elusive combination of distance and accuracy I continue to be amazed, and it was custom fitted for £195!
I have the older Pxg 5wood and it is a great club only fairway wood I have ever been able to hit consistently!
i bought a used 0211 at the beginning of the season. shaft broke so i replaced it cause i loved it. a week later the 0311 xf went on sale so i got that. its so good. super forgiving, super long. i recommend it to all my buddies. hard to beat a brand new driver at $300. PXG is very quickly becoming one of my favorite brands.
Is the 0311 XF worth the $70 more then the 0211?
PXG absolute genius marketing strategy. From designer clubs which lets be honest most could not afford, to under cutting market leaders whilst still maintaining integrity and performance of the brand. Game plan all the way. HATS OFF!!!!!
I don’t know that I’d call it genius exactly. The price of their golf clubs were artificially high, which encouraged all the other club makers to inflate their prices. The price drop smells of changing tack from a failed strategy, since they’re suffering from shipping delays like everyone else.
gaming the 1st gen 0811lx, got fitted for the 0211 dual cores in spring. gen 5 driver on the way. can'r wait to see the difference. brilliant marketing, great clubs.
Great deal! If I was in the market for a new driver I'd jump on this deal.
Great Video. And fantastic that we can produce decent golf gear in the UK.
£250 is a great price these days for a new Driver. However, I still consider it expensive. And as I watch this video I had to check the current price for a Gen 5 0311 Driver. And it clocks in at £429. Which is a big hike in the price. But when you think should I Add a USA branded Ping Driver to the bag which I could get fitted for. Or choose to “Buy British” and choose to deal with a home grown manufacturer, which also offers a fitting service. And I notice I do have a PXG fitting centre not too far away from myself too, it becomes an interesting decision. And one where it becomes tempting to go PxG. I personally would probably choose to go down the route of an 0211 Driver, as I personally consider by the time you’ve spent £200+ quid for a driver yards per pound gained and dispersion forgiveness per pound tails off very rapidly.
If I could get a correctly fitted new driver for a sub
Really good to see, I am actually starting a job at PXG soon and absolutely buzzing.
£20 for fitting..also limited fitting centres near me,and only weekday "work" hours.sshame no weekend or evenings available in the north west.
Wasn't impressed with the phone fitting advice for my gen4
No brainer if your driver is over 5 years old and you can get a decent fitting
Hi Simon I’m an average 11 h’capper and fitted by Jack Venn into the 0211 dual core Irons last year. They transformed my confidence and ball striking. When the deal on the Gen 5 came through it was a no brainier as you explained early in the Vid. £250 for a club I had a good idea of ( was gaming the Proto 0811x also fitted by Jack ) and so knew my shaft option. And if it goes up in price then what’s to loose? By chance I was with Jack early last week getting a friend’s young Daughter fitted into PXG for her first set of clubs ( she’s a real talent and just started county golf but no access a lot of help). Jack was absolutely brilliant with her dealing with data, shafts, and detailed advice and treated her like a Golfer and not a kid. AND then he allowed me to have a swing with the Gen 5 at no charge as I told him I’d bought it blind. We did some data too although having seen what I was getting it was obvious the Gen 5 would be good for me. And he advised exactly how to set it up. On course it’s fantastic. I don’t know if it’s longer than PING / Callaway / TM or others but I do know I can hit it with real confidence and at this price point what is being given up? As you observed this direct to market model is a good one and Jack’s a great guy for all levels of player.
I have to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed my gen4 0811 XF, but one thing that puts me off from getting another PXG driver is the face. The black face has worn out in the center of the face and doesn't look nearly as good as it did day 1. I know it is just an aesthetic thing, but I can see the color change when standing over the ball and it really bothers me to the point where I really don't enjoy using the club. It might just be me, but look over the ball does play a part in my mental game during a round of golf.
Got one coming soon. cant wait 0311 Gen 5 project X Even Flow Blue CB 50 5.5. Hope to provide more control and maybe some distance.
I bought the 0211 for £195 but have recently upgraded to the new Gen 5 for the great deal of £250 and I have to say it's the best £250 I have ever spent ...Great driver
I’m happy with the 225ish yards I hit my current callaway xr16, just not the consistency. Thus, I’d been considering a new (to me) driver.
But for US$299, I just couldn’t resist. This morning I ordered the gen 5 0311 XF, after a good conversation with the fitter on the phone. I am excited for it to arrive.
Thanks for the great channel.
Try hitting it with your purse next time
@@sweetnesisbeast the purse is typically better utilized as a chipper.
Great deal & nice to see Jack is doing well.
Hi Simon, this video (and your pxg irons vid) inspired me to advantage of their offer. I had my first custom fitting, and picked up the 0311XF on sale, as well as a set of XCOR2's. I couldn't be happier.
Be nice if we could get these deals in Australia.. These 250 pound/usd drivers are over $1000 down under
I got fitted for a gen 5 in June for my birthday. I can’t believe the difference. I had never been fitted for a club before. I’m a bit gutted that I paid £399 and it’s now £250 mind you 😂 great club though. Highly recommend it
I’ve ordered one! Can’t go wrong. Shaft choice is very good. Even if you go with the uplifts shafts still puts at the same price as others manufacturers drivers. I have the gen 3 fairway. Good. The gen4 hybrid. Very good. I wonder what the wait time will be!
I got fitted by a mobile pxg fitter. Annoyingly I got the gen4 driver a couple months back gen 5 had just come out. Can't justify paying another £250 for a driver for the gen 5. The fitting was ok. Not as detailed as what this one seemed. No measurements as such. I've had other fittings which have been worse. Getting fitted is the right thing but finding a good one is the problem when anyone with a launch monitor can do it. Don't need any qualifications as far as I'm aware. Pxg prices do fluctuate a lot. Glad I got the 0211 DC irons when they were going cheap £70 an iron. Even then a few weeks later they dropped to £60 for a few weeks.
Bought the Gen4 back in Dec for £285 awesome driver and performs very well! Considered the Gen5 at that price but can’t justify it at the moment.
Hi Simon, I really enjoy your posts and take great interest in your recommendations and opinions on the used club market as I myself decided years ago that paying for new was absolute insanity. Only new I have purchased have been on late or off season sales so when you posted this one it just made sense to take advantage of the mark down I already have a 0211 driver which I purchased used and I am impressed with it as well as the used 0317 proto hybrid I have so I ordered the 0311 XF on the deal $375 CDN and can't wait to see how it stacks up. I love hunting down a bargain myself and trying different equipment. Thanks for your posts and I will continue to watch.
That’s great value for a brand new driver with custom fitting, just shows how much they can sell them for when they’re direct to consumers.
Love your videos!
I paid £250 for the OG Rogue last spring, was an amazing deal
😱😱 Bloody unbelievable deal that is
Just bought it mate!
Love my gen 4 but thought I would try the 7.5 0311 with an Diamana S+ shaft......250 man!
Whow that was a rush,, you on a promise, what does it go up to and when,, can you buy the weights separately,, etc,, cheers Al 😂😂👍
Great video. I do not agree with the comment with regards to the quality control at the new UK factory however, not long after that opened I added a new 4 and 5 iron to my set of gen 2 irons (which came from the USA pre UK factory, the 4 and 5 irons came from the UK factory) and both the irons came without the heads being glued on properly they were loose and came off in my hands. Awful experience, in the end used a local club fitter to install the heads, after chasing down PXG customer services they eventually offered me a complementary hat or ball maker, I opted for the hat but requested ideally white please not black... They sent a black hat. £250 for the driver appears good but I have zero faith in the build quality if they are shipping those out quickly from their UK factory.
Because it only cost every one of the manufacturer's like $95 to make their clubs.
An amazing deal from PXG for a very good Driver👍👍
The gen 5 is a beaut! It’s a lot less SHOUTY than previous drivers. What a deal! Have a good one Simon
Yeah agreed mate, sounded better than my Gen 2 when I had it!
I’m a fan of PXG and currently game a 0811 Proto driver but was disappointed with the video which just came across like an advertisement for the brand.
I’m sure the Gen 5 is really good but didn’t see any comparisons with current driver or what the gains were over the Gem 4.
Maybe £250 is a no brainer but this not the usual standard of consumer insight we’ve come to expect from SaS Golf.
I’d love to hear how it compares to the driver you were using and which driver are you using now!
Needing to replace a Sim Max driver with a dented face and have been looking at the Gen5. In the US $299.
Everyone wondering about the price remember that they don’t have a middle man that takes a lot of the profit - how much do you think shops pay Taylor made Titleist etc for a club? Got fitted for Gen4 driver and now sorely tempted to just blind order Gen5 in the same specs. Also (according to the PXG website) there is also a 60 money back guarantee if you aren’t happy with it!
What are you talking about, PXG have been the most expensive brand for years and still are.
Just bought the honma 747 460cc version for 100 quid. Can’t wait to get out and hit some balls with it, some deal considering it was like 600 quid 3 years ago
Great buy that mate and your right for the price it came out as 🤯
OUTSTANDING 🎯💥
Yes 10 working days, £250 fitted over the phone, first try tomorrow.
I did a fitting in person for the gen 4. Was hitting it great at the fitting. The one that was delivered to me felt dead and was easily 15 yards shorter than my epic. Found they messed up the weights so they sent me new ones but I could never get the driver to perform well for me. I ended up with a stealth this year which has saved my game.
The look and sound of the gen 5 seems much better. Pxg seems to have horrible luck with drivers whereas their irons are always well reviewed. Maybe this gen 5 will get them to be known for their drivers.
No doubt this deal is an effort to get a lot more of them out on the market and change that narrative. They seem confident they have something really competitive now.
I’ve ordered, just because it’s a no brainier as my current SIM driver is at the end of its life. I was waiting for the new Titleist TSR to launch, and there you have it, some clever business acumen from PXG to snap up new customers that have been waiting for the Titleist and Ping releases, therefore taking taking market share.. very, very clever PXG.
Your 2 year old driver is at the end of it's life .....errr no.
Still got the Gen 2 and loving it! Wonder how it compares? Agree it's VERY loud.. Might upgrade to a Gen 6/7 in a couple of years. Gen 2 performs well enough for now.
I miss mine mate as lost it, best driver I had for a long time pal. 💪
Love my Gen 2 as well. Upgraded the shaft I like it so much. Zero reason to get another club. Gonna spend the money on lessons.
I has the Nike Sumo Sasqwatch Square driver with a 60g Adila Proto X shaft. Very long, but Christ it was load it was recommended you use ear plugs. Very Long driver, I have never used anything that launched the ball further.
gen 4 was a huge leap over 2 or 3. if you needed to lower your spin and had good club speed.
Just picked mine up
Shame it's almost 50 miles & an hour and a quarter away. Still thinking about it though. Gen 6 selling at keen prices now.
I got got for 0211 driver after purchasing the irons , I am struggling for consistency with it is there a big difference with gen 5 & 0211?(m2 2017 back in bag )
The honma xp1 driver is now £122.00 now that's a steal
After i spoke to you on the course i emailed them saying i could only book into September. They said they would honour the price so i am booked for a fitting. Did i say that out loud? Oops!
Bro- sell every club you have and the bags - get that Gen 5 you will not be disappointed ..
Great vid
More forgiving this PXG 0311 XF or the Mizuno ST-Z 220? I can get either one for $299 right now. Help please?
Hi, where does Jack do his fittings ??
Not in the market for a driver just now, almost was but bought a new shaft for my speedzone and got it working again.
Do PXG run on an annual cycle or is it every 2 years?
Which fitting center is this?
Got fitted by Jack yesterday. An excellent experience and ordered the Gen 5 XF driver and 4 wood. He’s an excellent fitter!
He definitely is 💪
Numbers...comparison against a Titleist or Taylormade?
They are not paying millions upon millions to pros!!!!
I had a few too many glasses of wine one evening and ordered a 0211 driver for £205 a few months back (guesstimating my shaft).
This deal is so tempting, to actually get fit for a PXG driver, when most of the others manufacturers are so much more expensive.....If I wasn't giving so much money to British Gas ATM, I would be tempted.
Structurally, we're going backwards ?
Love your stuff Simon but you're getting the red carpet. I had a recent PXG fitting which was the worst ever. No measurements, data given or any advice. Hugely disappointed
That’s very interesting mate as not what i have experienced but understand your point. What location was it? Sure the guys would want to hear your feedback 👍
@@SASGolf Hi Simon, it was at Clydeway near Glasgow. I gave them feedback, the fitting area manager acknowledged my points were correct but then tried to justify by saying that some people don't want information and that ball flight tells all. None of the stuff in.your video happened. No measurements, no info given (club speed, ball speed, carry distances etc). Just a that looks as though it'll do you. I still have the email exchanges. As a good fitter yourself, you'd be amazed at what's going on with PXG fitters
Would love to see a sub70 blade putter review, also their utility irons!
The more you spend the more you save !! Tell the good lady that one & see what happens , (good luck)
Not being funny.. but isn't the question how can Titleist sell the new TSR for £529???
good video
Their everybody's favorite when the prices drop dramatically but years ago people were complaining and talking shit. 🤣🤣🤣 I sold my whole bag the honeymoon phase is over not impressed. Gen 4 still looks better imo
Just called PXG in Dallas and they stated they are not doing a $250 Club + fitting deal. Is this just a UK promotion?
Sorry believe it is $299 dollars in the us + free shipping. Go to the us website believe details are all there. 👍
They look great but get a fitting.
We’re you trying to throw the guy off buy originally telling him that you needed a stiff driver shaft? lol
Haha na. Just link going through the process, plus few warm up swings before the big boy shafts. 😅
How can they sell that driver for £250. simple, cost about £20 to put together.
Hmmm….reminds me of a Taylormade Sim
Biggest no-brainer in the history of man ......
0311 Gen5 just replaced my 0211 driver.
How did it compare. I've just done the same
@@andrewmacdonald7888 I can only say this much so far - it sounds and feels better. I don't have enough time with it to state for certain that I perform better with it. I got it late Saturday. Played with it Sunday a.m. on a course that I'd never played before, and had a lesson on Monday evening. Will be at the range tonight (Wednesday).
I bought one £250
The answer to your question is that all brands CAN sell their 2022 driver for £250... they just choose not to, sadly.
And now they are 219$
When you talk to the wife, need to tell her it’s an investment for the future, sure she will green light it, fingers crossed for you mate
The problem is I lost the last one 🙃 haha
Technically a tax write off anyway right! 😂
The gen4 looks horrendous from the top. There’s no way people can feel confident when you’re looking over the top of that driver
Being honest about the price perhaps?
Haha one day we will know what it all costs! Until that day though il take the deals when they come our way. 😏
@@SASGolf Nice to see a manufacturer lead the way. Equipment is stupid prices now, they should extend product length rather than bringing out new stuff every year or two.
@@thehairygolfer companies need to make money though mate .....also nobody has a gun to your head making you buy every year 🤣
@@M82RKY Cars have a model run of 5 or 6 years. Golf clubs used to as well. Yes, I am THAT old to remember! It seems sensible to recoup R&D costs over a longer term and would keep prices lower. Just a thought.
Because he's a billionaire who doesn't really on golf clubs to make money
Hope it blows the overpriced drivers “stealth” away.
It's easy to see how they can sell their drivers at this price....for years they were over charging you 4X what they were worth.
In fact they should give them away free
And a 60 day money back guarantee
Why are you testing with a stiff flex, you swing like 120. Oh my bad they got you in an X
To go through the process mate, I always ask to start with stiff as otherwise short video as If I get 8 degree x stiff in every brand at the start, it don’t show the process if that makes sense. If I was to go through their upgrade shafts they had however that’s a different story and would of started x stiff
@@SASGolf cheers!! I gotcha. 👍🏽
With all of the fake golf pride grips about, have you ever thought about testing them against the real ones?
I think Simon did a fake grips vid a while back when he accidentally brought some
You think you can do a video without a trick shot
Haha thought it wouldn’t unnoticed 😂
Haha!!
2 in the next one pls boss 😊
