While you have good points about the FSU pass defense, there are some wide receivers that tech is bringing this year that FSU might not know how to prepare for. 6’5” Leo Blackburn is back and barely has any tape. And then tech has the ability to sub in either Chase Lane, Christian Leary, or Malik Rutherford in the slot. And all 3 of those guys are fast and shifty. Lastly, I’m very glad tech has this matchup to start the season to help settle the expectations for the OL. Gonna be a battle in the trenches for sure.
I’m gonna go FSU 31-28 for now, but I need to see the full picture before I give my final prediction in August.

Haynes King, for all his talents, is a turnover machine and didnt do much against the 3 good defenses he played last year. 500 TOTAL YARDS vs clemson, UGA, and Miami. Thats 166 per game. He feasted on crappy teams.
DJU isnt any savior but this FSU team will run the ball and overwhelm teams with its deepest oline in decades. The overconfident Ga Tech nerds in these comments crack me up.
Alot of people are doubting FSU again and a lot of people are picking GA Tech to win this game. Alot like the last couple of seasons when everyone said FSU had no chance to beat LSU, GA Tech is great on offense but had one of the worst defenses in CFB last season. Unless they have gotten significantly better on defense, I don't think they will be able to keep up with FSU. FSU's strength is their defense, I believe it will be a hard-fought game especially because there in Irland, but I have FSU wining and covering the spread.

I wouldn't go that far, but i do like GT to cover . I can even see them pulling out the win. It's good to see GT getting back to playing good football. Geoff Collins was not a good fit and I find it hilarious that he's at unc as the DC . I cant stand unc and their refusal to play defense past week 4 of the season. The question i have is gt's defense. If it is just average i think that will be good enough to win this game. Im not impressed with DJU. If FSU had King at qb, I'd take fsu in this game. I think that King is the difference in this game.

Geoff Collins is gone, Haynes King is legit. Im a VT guy and i follow all the teams in the conference. GT is the most improved team, along with VT , that will be better than expected. GT had Geoff Collins, VT had Justin Fuente. Both were not good fits, and set these teams back big time. Both have head coaches that are good fits, and we're seeing results. As a Hokie, I'm glad the game vs GT is in Blacksburg @ home. I expect it to be a tough game .
GT covers and wins better offense than FSU along with an improved defense they will be in for a surprise. DJ U will prove to be a liability early for them.

Returning OL and a QB who takes better care of the ball this year....a slightly better defense is all Tech needs to be a WAY better unit overall.

Why would he take better care of the ball this year? He is not a pocket passer. He thrives on broken plays and heaving it up for grabs. It works a lot but that's who he is

Why wouldn't he? Fairly redundant question...of course hes striving to clean that up. The fact that he is in less situations where hes pressed to do too much should be helpful regarding the TOs. GT had the best pass pro and best rushing OL in the ACC last year, should be even better this year.
@chazgoat6939 because his game is not a precision pocket passer. It's like expecting Jameis winston to all of the sudden stop turning it over. He's a gunslinger for better or worse.

He spent the off-season doing an internship...w/Chris Weinke as an OC/QB coach, his play style is not static and his mentality is to improve. He is a work in progress and that's what matters.
