i like the white pick up caps goes good with the sea of black helps to break up all that black, the neck was a good idea.
Really digging these partscaster builds. Its actually got quite a number of upgraded parts too!
The Pickup covers add class.
The white pickups like fine in that axe, like in Roger Waters' Black Strat, but better with the white body binding. Other white plastics might look good, but you're go to go NOW.
The black pickups looked better. I also like it with the maple neck. Now you need to recrown the frets after sanding the crowns off!

With the white pickup covers and maple neck, the guitar looks like it's wearing a tuxedo. Looks classy.

I am glad that you went with the white pup covers- it makes the guitar body pop a bit; altho, not a fan of the chrome knobs? (I would have put white Fender style knobs on it...) but, all-in-all, looks like a great axe! I enjoy ALL of your videos, as they are entertaining, educational, and informative. Thanks, Dane!
I do like the maple neck over the rosewood. I have really come to like maple fretboards better than rosewood or ebony. plus rosewood is stinky.

its kind of strange that the higher frets have so much wear. previous owner must have spent a lot of time above the 12th fret.

Yeah, those single coils come in 48-50-52 or 50-50-52 or all 52mm center pole to pole measurements. The white covers and maple neck look good.

@@davidkastin4240 it doesn't matter to me. I care more about the quality of the magnet and windings.
@@rock2blues59 Heard. My preference is staggered pole pieces ceramic magnets. I just ordered 2 sets, white and black, late on delivery but got them on a 2 day only sale for $18 a set with tax. They're hard to find since Alnico magnets are more common nowadays. I find ceramic staggered give me the vintage sound I like ✌️
Some pickup manufacturers have smaller magnet (diameter measurements) i put a replacement pickup in my Stratocaster . Used a new pickup cover that's different from stock. Though the stock one would have fit fine, the six holes looked off
Not really sure but kinda looks like all GuitarFetish stuff...
Fixing up those old boys is almost Zen- like. Meditation. Bringing them back to the rotation.
The white covers match the binding. I think it looks good.

When I was 14 I got my first job (The Wayside Inn, Chatham Ma) and with my first paycheck I bought an Ibanez Roadstar II from the back page of Elderly Instruments catalog in ohsc for $140. It had the blade switch replaced with three mini toggles. What a heluva guitar in the sea foam green burst ish color with OG Floyd Rose. Man I miss that guitar.

Cool guitar; different with no contours and binding like a Telecaster Custom. #0000 steel wool works great to polish frets; gentle and effective. Also read that pencil eraser works as well.
I dig the white covers! Compliments the pick guard and brings out the binding. Nice upgrades 👍

Some kid or grownup that never got a guitar as a kid will have a blast with it, and it's good that you take pride and effort to make it better.
I would've tried to get those covers looking dirty tooth yellow or mixed in a black one, but that's just me.

The off white pu covers would’ve been cool. Would match the off white binding. Just my 2 cents worth. Thanks again. From: Random Parts in TX. Just me but I would’ve covered the neck up with tape before cleaning the higher frets. Keeps metal dust out of the pup.
