I always loved "take on me" but we here in the U.S.A. never really got to know this group beyond that. Wow, what we were missing! Always a big fan of George Michaels and these guys are every bit as great. Absolutely amazing voice. Like finding gold listening to all this great music. "Stay on these roads" has to be one of the greatest single vocal recordings ever produced to me. Just shear beauty.

Michael Jackson approached a-ha back in 1986 and asked if they wanted to work with him. a-ha turned him down. I think they basically thought MJ was not a «match made in heaven» for them. At this stage MJ was experiencing some rumours in regards to his quite eccentric persona, so it could be that this is what made a-ha turn him down. The story is confirmed by Magne in a-ha.
@@lotus72e I do not think that it is correct info. Michael Jackson was at an A-Ha concert in 1986 and chatted a little with them back stage and invited them to Neverland ranch, but A-ha had to decline because they were on tour. As far as I knwo there were no plans of working together.

Michael Jackson was known to be quite a strong character to work with, confirmed by Paul McCartney during their stint in 1982/83. I believe a-ha and Michael would have clashed big time, mainly based on the fact that both Paul and Morten are equally strong characters that will not bow under pressure from others wanting other ideas or ventures. That is my take on this possible «opportunity».
Big applause speak for themselves. It's a shame it's the last single in the US. The US music industry has lost many musical discoveries and the best vocals. Bands today can't compare with A-HA music.

@ColtraneTaylor michael knew how to aprecite music :) .he invited them to his(i dont remember the name,it was the place he has to play games,something like disney).but i dont know why they didnt go..and i think i read in some place that he went to see a-ha in the 80´s,too.
