I still remember in 1962 onward my parents were regularly purchasing chandamama magazines and asked us to read stories.by that time I use not to read but to listen through my elder sister.slowly slowly I tried and read it my own to fatch my temptation mainly due to attractive pictures on almost each pages.I still remember Durgesh Nandani, kaltu khan ,Jagat Singh being most attractive characters. Vikram and vetal was a regular post . However this reading habit gave dimensions to my thoughts. I believe picture in Chanda mama were things which initiated production of pictorial books and then the comic books. A nice initiative by the drawing house one of it’s kind.❤❤
Chandamama ek aisi magazine hai jiska "sanskrit" version bhi ek time per published hota tha. India ki sabse successful children magazine mei se ek rahi hai yeh. Nice documentary sir excited for next episodes.
In my childhood , I used to think Chandamama was an Odia publication such was it's popularity 😄 In the pre liberalisation era , in far away villages of Odisha , where there wasn't even electricity , you would find copies of Chandamama Odia language edition And it was popular with Adults as well as kids People in the villages who couldn't read would gather around and listen to one person reading from the magazine

Chandamama me series aati thi kaane ka kila , and sone ka kila.... It was like witcher series from Netflix fantasy magic and traveling from one place to other through portal.. It's cover was used to be very beautiful
