Nice looking kit. The interior seems to be well detailed and your painting turn out well as usual. The lighting for the interior looks great Lou. You're the expert on kit lighting for sure!!
A pleasure to watch you work as always, sir. I love the banter & the Elton John puns. I also really appreciate your ability to be informative, interesting & entertaining. You've certainly helped improve my model building, the Tulip fabric paint has been a godsend when it comes to light blocking. I found when I tested my 1:18 scale X-wing engine lights after sanding & repainting the engine nozzles that I was getting some major light leakage through the plastic & paint but the Tulip paint fixed that right up. I've also taken to giving my photoetch parts a layer of Vallejo gloss varnish to improve the decal positioning which, despite being very high quality, were giving me an absolute migrane! I spent 45mins wrestling with one of them only to completely destroy it with microsol! I'm very new to all this & shaking hands do not, a competent model builder, make. So thank you again & keep up the excellent work, it's greatly appreciated.
i'd love to see you build one of those life sized R2D2 replicas. i was 6 when Star Wars came out & was always trying to build an R2D2 out of Lego...so it's incredible to me to see the amazing R2 units people have made. u are such a great builder i'm sure you would treat R2 with the love & respect the little droid deserves
Lou, I'm so glad you're building this kit. I've been eyeballing it for a month now and jonesing to build it just wasn't sure how good of a kit it is. Now I'm probably going to get it. Looking good sir!
😂🤣!! ‘Hold me closer, Tiny Warp Core’!! LOL Good title for a song! I checked into this model, and the interior set... A little speedy, but from the looks of it, well worth the money! Never justified getting the Valley Forge’ either,... But I did! Sooooo,.... Who knows!?! Thanks, Lou!! Your fault! LOL
Great video and very entertaining as always. Its nice to see you working on a smaller project too. Also, i had to watch this video again just to see if i could identify all the spaceahips on your awesome T-shirt!😄👍
What I've always found to be most troubling about these smaller shuttles is the lack of a head for the crew. Personally, I would need to bring an empty gallon jug for extended excursions.
@@aztekdummy The interior of the Delta flyer is actually larger than you think maybe it somewhere near the warp core. Though makes you wonder where the heads are on starships as you never see anyone taking a pee break.
I've had my friend scan and print back-up decal sheets for my older kits, then expand the size of shapes slightly then let the cutter plotter do it's magic waa laa.
On the fit of that insert piece you printed... depends on whether YOUR 3d printer is calibrater exactly the same as the one that printed the flyer overall.
Dude! Do I see a generic natural light beer in the background at the 36:28 mark? C'mon Lou! 😃😃😃😃 Hey...as always.....I love your work. Keep them coming.
Wow! Not familiar with the Flyer, but it looks very big for a 1:72 kit. Just saw you show the figures and it looks more like 1:48. Not trying to be a jerk, just that I build exclusively 1/72, and this thing is gigantic.
Lou viewing your video on a Sunday morning has become a routine I really look forward to during these crazy times. Can I ask have you any plans to purchase and make any of the Alien movie spaceships that are available on Gamebody ? would love to see you do the Narcissus and the Nostromo.
I was never a fan of the Flyer but that's an excellent faithful build as far as I can tell. It has to just be the camera making the light in the Engineering alcove and the "back room" look too bright. I was wondering if you could get away with using white LEDs to light the engines and use spill light from them for the side consoles, but as usual You'll want to be able to light the engines independently of the interior, right?
the interior is it's own tub or else I could have used lights from the shell to light it. I plan on using colored leds in the wingtips to light the engines
Hey Lou! Excellent work so far...:)...The part you had sent to you from the producer - isn't that supposed to be part of the "Borg" modifications and have that eerie green glow? I thought I saw that on one of the episodes...maybe that's a way to divert the eye if you didn't have the replacement part? Just thinking out loud...
Hi Lou. It was great to watch this video. You seem so much happier and really enjoying yourself compared to the trials of the 'E'. One query - the box art states that it is a resin kit but obviously you stated a number of times that this is a first generation 3D print. Is this a prototype/test shot of a final resin kit or is the box art wrong?
the material that you print with is a liquid resin. so what i said is true. from a certain point of view. :) you may be thinking of the filament type of 3D printing, which is more of a plastic material
@@aztekdummy Ah, yes of course. 3D resin printed. Don't know why the penny didn't drop, especially since I've been looking at such printers! Still just got a FFM one myself but waiting until 4K resin printers settle down to be consistent quality. See you next week 👍
Indeed-- a huge shift of gears! But, the grinding not withstanding, an excellent model. What a brave new world of model making, eh? If the controls had been done in clear, lighting would have been easier-- well not "easy" exactly -- but do-able. Funny detail-- that pilot needs to be a young person-- how do you stand up to move to the rear?' Do all the deals! Sure-- the lighting is about the same. All good.
@@aztekdummy Lou, I know you'll build it well, you always do. :) As for a copy of the model, I wasn't putting that on you. it was more of a rhetorical question. It's up to me to contact Cozmic!😏
@@RobBon12 Rob, Keith would like to send you a kit, but needs your contact info. would you please send him a message to admin@cozmicscalemodels.com ? he'd love to chat with you about the Delta Flyer

Lou, the only thing I hate about your videos is when they are over. Excellent work again, sir.
i realize it's kinda randomly asking but do anyone know a good website to stream new tv shows online?
@Torin Landyn Lately I have been using flixzone. You can find it on google :)
@Drake Jaxon yea, have been watching on flixzone for years myself =)
@Drake Jaxon Thanks, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) I appreciate it !!

Always liked the Delta flyers on Voyager- they always looked comfy!

I'm sure the Delta had a head. Tom Paris designed it after all He wouldn't be that dumb.LOL
"below deck" maybe? or maybe behind the replicator wall?

Kevin, possibly. My printers are out of commission for big print jobs till the spring. It's too cold here to leave them running overnight.

I directly meant what you knew about lighting the consoles Lou.
I love your videos, and your shirt! where did you get that?
Which one? The space invader-ish one was the 2017 starship modeler wonderfest shirt.

We’re in Space 1999-Scope!
If only I could afford you building me a LED TOS Enterprise... Pretty sure we live in the same state.
Hi Lou, couldn't you just print out a negative black vinyl mask to use under the console for light blocking? Or is it not thick enough
yes you could. but it's the overall thickness that it would add to the side consoles that is the sticking point
