    If you send your plans to bunnings they will do house lot quotes.

      Good tip! We ordered a house lot for our timber from a place here in WA called M&B 👍 though few places would be familiar with a SIPs build in our case

    Hi, I've just started watching (binging) ur videos. I am really enjoying it. I only live in the suburbs. But was raised on 100 acre dairy farm. It's my dream to return to the bush it's so fun watching you and Corey. You both have a great sense of humour and are a great team. Your climate in south Western Australia amazes me. I'm in Qld (Gympie). I didn't realise your dry climate is in summer. Our dry climate is winter. Our 1st day of summer we had a hail storm and everything went back to being green and lush. I'm a psychologist and need things to watch that are light hearted and not heavy going, so ur channel is perfect for my down time. Thanks Corey and Amanda! ❤😊

    That was absolutely epic! Thank you so much for all the info. Stumbled on your channel researching regen ag & leaky weirs and thought I’d skip through this one to get a price & see how the SIPs went, but stayed for the full hour! I’d love to see more of the house & get your thoughts on living with the SIPs. You really timed everything perfectly - just getting some rural land is about twice the price now too, so well done.
    There are so many vids you’ve made that I plan to check out, & I’m about to subscribe 👍. Btw, I haven’t seen the video about Corey’s health yet, I hope everything’s going well. All the best, you guys are gorgeous!

      Thanks for that! So glad it was useful… it’s the kind of video we wished we could find when we were in the planning phase 😂
      I’ll give you some spoilers, Corey’s surgery went well and he’s doing great 👍 ❤️

      @@ROCKPILEOffgridHomestead That’s great to hear!
      You’ve got me re-deepdiving into SIPs! You’re living my dream & I may have questions down the line, but I still don’t have the land 😆! Cheers from Melbourne : )

    Fantastic information and NSW is very similar in terms of the reports needed and fees to be paid but in 2022 they were about double what your fees and reports were but the building insurance was not as expensive for 12 months I have a 300 square metre slab for my shed/house so far and it’s cost 50k just for the concrete in 2023 costs have gone mad here

      Hey guys.
      Just question regarding the roof vs floor length panels?.
      Floor is 6000mm. Angled skillion roof?. How did the roof panels fit and overhang ect , and gutter?...cheers

    • @ROCKPILEOffgridHomestead
      @ROCKPILEOffgridHomestead  9 місяців тому

      Great question! We’ll draw a detail of how it went together. But basically the 6m floor is outside to outside. The walls sit inside that edge so internally we’re at about 5700. The skillion goes from 2400 to 3300 so not very steep and we don’t lose too much ‘length’ in the roof panels on that angle. Roof on 2400 end sits halfway on wall top plate and fully on 3300 end then the LVLs that join the panels over shoot the 3300 end to create an eave and give the illusion of a longer roof panel.

    • @ROCKPILEOffgridHomestead
      @ROCKPILEOffgridHomestead  9 місяців тому

      8.5 degree pitch means over all outside roof length required was 6067 and we kept it back from the bottom most edge to allow for a hidden gutter design.

    So fun to watch your story. Just curious, why did you choose the stilts over a cement slab? I appreciate there’s a gradient, but a slab can cope with that too. Just interested. Thanks

    • @ROCKPILEOffgridHomestead
      @ROCKPILEOffgridHomestead  9 місяців тому +2

      Thankyou! We did a slab on our last place and it cost a fortune tbh. The cut and fill required for a slab has a much bigger footprint plus the expense of hiring someone to do it when we could do the steel frame subfloor ourselves. Win win win 🏆
