The overhead against City! The importance of that goal, the winner, last minute, and it was an overhead! A hattrick of recipes to make it THE best Rooney goal ever!
This episode shows how caring Keano actually is. Every time Rooney's reply is a bit on the negative, (ie loss of confidence, downplaying himself) Keano would always reply with words of support. Keane's a legend.
Roy Keane is the type of man that isn't made anymore ! Hard as nails , sticks to HIS principles , a very respectful man , but if you cross him , pfffft !!! I hated Roy Keane the player - I love the man ! ✌️🏴
That Rooney assist at DC united where he sprinted back, won the ball, sprinted forward and leant into a perfect cross for a late winner said I all I ever needed to know about Wazza,it was his career in a nutshell.
It's beautiful how Roy after all these years still got that captain's mentality of supporting and motivating people he played with. This is what the current squad is missing, a true leader.
I can tell Rooney is an introverted person by nature but on the pitch he was very extroverted and aggressive. He was a massive talent and if you didn't see him in his peak you missed out.
LFC fan here, remember watching Wayne Rooney in the pre match at Anfield for United. He was pinging half volleys to two coaches from the half way line to the corner flag, it was like watching a FIFA advert, he never missed, chest, half volley, ping, chest, half volley ping, he is the greatest footballer England has produced.
Agreed but yet when you see people's all time XI he never seems to be picked. Hands down one of the best natural footballers that has ever been produced and he doesn't get the recognition he deserves.
The most underappreciated Rooney feature was his playmaking skills. That assist for Van Persie’s volley is criminally underrated. What a player he was. I loved watching him play. Form, no form, goals and assists or drought - he was always giving 100% on the pitch. If he was playing as the nine all the time, he would have scored more than Shearer. Sometimes I feel sorry for him. He thoroughly deserved to have that spot.
This is the most I have ever heard Rooney speak...and it's goid that he's able to express himself clearly without pressure. Say what you like about his playing career and his personal life, but he just strikes me as someone whose dedication to football is unmatched. I hope he gets back into coaching very soon and gets a chance to properly hone his craft at a good level.
two favorite Rooney moments were assists ... one not even for United. First, the overhead lob assist to Persie's volley. Just the most precise moment of football I've seen. Perfection from both. Then second, playing in the US. Rooney chases down a ball and player at the half way line in the last minute of the game, just busting a lung. Wins the ball, lobs the pass in from the halfway line. Headed in. Goal. Wins the game. Camera pans back to Rooney coughing up a lung back at halfway. The man just never quit. Huge fan.

There is one thing I have realized many of us Manchester United fans love and respect Roy Keane so much.we want always to hear his opinion and respectfully he is a true Manchester United legends
@27:30 Wayne's humility and understanding is what made him such a great 'CLUB' Legend - he never moaned, he always gave everything and I genuinely think he's a rare breed of player that would put ego aside despite his talent and see the bigger picture. I have even more respect for him after this great interview!
Carragher asked him how HE felt about being put out wide and he admitted that Ronaldo would win them the game. True team player(making it about the team and not himself)
People judge Rooney but never have lived the life he has. The Birmingham job was never a good fit, not his fault. He was arguably top 3 most talented player we’ve ever seen for England.
More like never moaned when he was still a decent player but now that he’s retired early and has a failed managerial career, he has become extremely bitter especially towards CR7. He was a great player but he was always second fiddle to RVN, CR, RVP and then Zlatan. The story of him being better but having to sacrifice his game is pure bs. If he was the best, SAF/Jose would make him the main man.
Never in a million years being a Derby fan would I have ever believed we would’ve had Wayne Rooney playing scoring goals for us, an absolute insane quality of player
If Roy Keane doesn’t become a successful manager, I’ll never flush my toilet again. I thought he was just ruthless and cold, but man has compassion, relatability and understanding without sugarcoating. Someone give the man a long contract and just stand back !
I think that says just as much about the mentality of the modern day player as it does about Roy's ability as a manager. Sure, Keane would be firm but fair but if he's basically dealing with a bunch of spoiled adolescents (as just 1 of the challenges of the job), it's always going to be a tough job (probably why Neville and Carra want to give management a miss now).
I don't think he liked the pressure. The fakeness manager's have to talk in press conferences etc. Klopp has spoken his fair share of rubbish, and I'm currently sick of ETH's voice tbh. Keane would be good in some capacity, but he's hard to manage because he's intimidating and non compromising.
Roy Keane was a terrible manager. It's not just about tactics and understanding the game; it's also man management. Roy Keane has absolutely no patience for man management
Changed my perspective of Rooney after watching this. He gives his best in everything he does and wants to be the best. No guarantees in life that your best is good enough, and some may say his best is not, but he still has the will and desire which i think is brilliant.
Wayne Rooney. One of the Englands greatest ever footballers. Special raw talent. Not many young players could come into the mans game from a young age and have the impact he did, superb player.
Not English myself, but agree with Gary re Euro 2004. I also 100% believe that if he didn’t get injured against Portugal in that quarter final game, England would’ve won that tournament. Was completely unplayable that tournament. Sensational! Also remember him bossing it against Croatia.
Rooney on his own was a world class player, one of the best during his peak. But he is mostly judged and valued by his goals and assists. Rooney is underrated for his contribution to not just on the pitch, also to the culture of the club, the winning mentality of the team and the support of fans worldwide.
As always a tremendous episode. As a football fan it’s brilliant listening to legends of the game discussing and sharing their experiences and careers to us fans of the game. Thanks to everyone involved. 👏 👍

The same themes seem to come up every week, people and mgmt. Although I've never watched a football game and I've no clue of players and managers you'd be discussing, I love this show. I wait for it to drop every week. I have a huge interest in these topics business, mgmt, structures, team players, negotiations.. You don't need to be interested in football to find this a great show. It's laid back, good humour and honest storytelling, no ego!

18:51 Roy is so generous to Wayne, he's like a father figure, really encouraging words. I've always felt Wayne Rooney was such a shy person, I'm not sure he has the fire for management. Ability and personality are such different attributes.
So so lucky having gotten to see wazza play live during his prime. Mentality warrior, true great of the game and of the club. Swiss army knife of a player. He played out wide, CM, CAM, fkng even LB once or twice, without ever complaining. Champion.
As a fan of England and Manchester United, Rooney is the most hardworking and selfless player ever, willingly to do anything the manager asked for. If he didn’t have to make way for the other forwards in United back in the days, he could easily score 300-400 goals…
As a United fan, Wayne has always been such an enigma... We should all absolutely adore and revere him as one of our greatest ever, and one of the best raw talents England has ever produced... And yet, he's always been rejected by a lot of fans, not taken seriously and seen as a bit of a 'figure of fun'. Being scouse didn't help, but I think he was the victim of his own talent. He 'could' play anywhere and was happy to play anywhere because he just loved the game... But that worked against him, and Fergie started playing him wide or too deep like he's just a multipurpose squad player. It's all just a bit of a shame really. Respect to Wayne, one of the best to do it. Thanks for the goals!
Perfect episodes for young and the so called ‘senior’ players at utd. One of our greatest ever players was willing to make sacrifices for the team. Did his job as he was told.
Rooney strikes me as someone who’s got some kind of undiagnosed ptsd surrounding media. Remember Wayne couldn’t go a week without being on the back of the front of the newspapers. If we go off players stories and accounts he’s down to earth, but volatile at a moments notice And a fierce competitor But over the years and the last few seasons at United, the spark inside him seemed to dwindle. The fire in his belly was going out. It was hard for me to accept as a child but as a young man i get it now. I’m glad he’s found purpose in management, even if it’s not going exactly to plan He’s still young, 38 Plenty of time to develop
Just want to say that I've been watching this stream for several months, really enjoy it and that was brilliant. Never knew anything about Rooney (as a person) and that was great. Well done to you all. Top content.
Wayne always worked harder than anyone else. I went to so many games in the last years of his career at United, and as bad as it could be, Wayne always worked harder than anyone else. Talent and work ethic together, and at times, he ws a literal genius on the football pitch.
Brilliant. I would love to see you have Van Persie on sometime to get his views on his time with Arsenal, then Fergie and his departure, then Van Gaal and stories that he might have as well
The newcastle goal for me was amazing to see. He was mid conversation or argument with the referee looks up sees the ball dropping runs onto it bang one of the best volleys you will EVER SEE.

Ooh ah cantona I said ooh ah cantona !
Will anyone of us understand anything he says?
He's busy singing
He's bonkers
Let’s be honest we’re all here for Roy Keane
That's his job!
Rooney on this one
We all love Keano
Normally, I'd agree but Wazza is here 🥺🥺
great lads in this comments section
@27:30 Wayne's humility and understanding is what made him such a great 'CLUB' Legend - he never moaned, he always gave everything and I genuinely think he's a rare breed of player that would put ego aside despite his talent and see the bigger picture. I have even more respect for him after this great interview!
Never moaned 😂
@@rd2fly26 incorrect. none of them players could do what Rooney did, that is why he he was sacrificed.
1 hour just wasn’t enough, feel like it just scratched the surface - get Wayne back on for Part 2 🙏🏻
Great show as always 👏🏻
wow.. i never comment on anything, but i couldn't agree more. this was the best thing ive experienced watchin in a long time.. i need more !
Roy calling Valentine’s Day overrated is the most Roy thing ever. 🤣
Fabricated holiday for consumerism 😂
The man sent his missus home on their first date 😂
The last United player that I truly loved. No matter the position he played, no matter his form, he always gave it everything. I miss him.
Best channel on youtube right now! Gotta love Rooney, I wish him all the best on his next journey as a manager!
Rooney: Did you find them controls. Roy: Go Fark yourself .. Absolutely love Roy Keane
‘You’re up and running Wayne’ 😊 Roy Keane is a bit of a legend
Far from a united fan and rooney used to give villa nightmares but what a player rooney was. Really good interview to be fair
"The one that gave the club his hand so it ate his arms" only a great man a true legend would do this , respect 👏❤
How quickly we all forget how amazing Rooney was when he burst onto the scene - every fan would have loved him in their team - great interview!
This is better than anything on Netflix!!
Breaking Bad, Ozark, etc?
This is okay but let's not get carried away.
@@summan41man haha Ozark come on lad, breaking bad fair enough
Better than Suits? 💀
Still Game >
Man said Ozarks 😂
Changed my perspective of Rooney after watching this. He gives his best in everything he does and wants to be the best. No guarantees in life that your best is good enough, and some may say his best is not, but he still has the will and desire which i think is brilliant.
“Fookin X Factor was on” 😂😂 Keane makes me laugh every week man!
Rooney was s beast of a player. Humble aswel.
He fed Ronaldo.
Lop u ain't got a clue . About " he fed ronaldo"
@@Giri-bp6zjAye, cause Ronaldo played on his own, didn’t he? 😂 You’re a laugh mate, saying the guy has no clue, I think you’re the one without a clue.
Goes both ways mate. Ronaldo won 3 UCL without Rooney.
Roy Keane is such a class act. No wonder he was a leader for the some of the best players in the world. Legend!
You can really see what made Keano such a great captain more and more with every episode.
My GOAT! 🔥
'did you pay for that?'...Roys face! 😂
Wayne Rooney. One of the Englands greatest ever footballers. Special raw talent. Not many young players could come into the mans game from a young age and have the impact he did, superb player.
balls ,,, wow very inspiring
Not English myself, but agree with Gary re Euro 2004. I also 100% believe that if he didn’t get injured against Portugal in that quarter final game, England would’ve won that tournament. Was completely unplayable that tournament. Sensational! Also remember him bossing it against Croatia.
"obviously I had a couple of moments with the manager"
Roy Keane: 😈
Lol
Dear Rooney, you are a United Legend. We love you. Thank you for the wonderful years. True red ❤
Miss this guy every day ffs, won't see a player like him again
@@taiyabmahmood8274 hopefully his oldest son will be nearly as good 👍🏼
Wazza sits there the first third of a video like a family member that just got out of rehab at Thanksgiving 😂
Looks like he's fresh off the gear and about to start on his climbing and motivational videos
I tink...I tink errm

skinhead rooney was a different beast. loved watching that united era in my teens.
Probably nits pal
Rooney on his own was a world class player, one of the best during his peak. But he is mostly judged and valued by his goals and assists. Rooney is underrated for his contribution to not just on the pitch, also to the culture of the club, the winning mentality of the team and the support of fans worldwide.
Uncle Roy nurturing wazza, lovely stuff
As always a tremendous episode. As a football fan it’s brilliant listening to legends of the game discussing and sharing their experiences and careers to us fans of the game. Thanks to everyone involved. 👏 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! 🤝
that utd team with prime Rooney Ronaldo Tevez Rio Vidic Evra,Giggs and scholes unreal experience along with the workhorses park carrick and fletcher with van der sar in goal, what a team,it was fergies best i think, second in europe to only barca what a time to be alive lol
I love Roy. Always the captain too with how he talks to his former teammates
24:04 That shot of Keane when Rooney mentioned issues with Ferguson was gold. Pure side-eye 👌🏼
Feel like there's a lot of stuff coming out now about SAF, maybe his man management wasn't as great as it seemed
@SA-io6es
Good grief, every player at some point has 'some issues with the manager'.
Massive overreaction.
@@SA-io6estensions get high and people fall out. There a loads of players i could mention that he fell out with. Ruud, beckham, ince, keane, it doesn't diminish the fact that he is the greatest manager of all time
@@SA-io6esFeel like you need someone to sit down with you for an hour and explain what type of people exist in professional sport, let alone one of the most successful clubs on the planet during one of their most dominant era’s.
@@sighfly2928some people aren't ready for that conversation. 😂
18:51 Roy is so generous to Wayne, he's like a father figure, really encouraging words. I've always felt Wayne Rooney was such a shy person, I'm not sure he has the fire for management. Ability and personality are such different attributes.
He’s not stupid he’s talking from his on experience that’s why he has his back that bit extra
"It's not old school, it's good school" -- Damn right Keano!
This is a great video for learners of English - four very distinct regional accents in full colloquial flow
and one Accent from a different country. (Ireland)
@@paulbutlerlennox4610 As an English man I respect your patriotism. A great country to have as your own.
In fairness, 3 of these accents are Irish/Irish influenced.

Not sure what fans have rejected him, I know of none. Stop hanging out with plastics 🤪
I absolutely love how encouraging Roy was with Wayne. I do wish that part of his leadership was highlighted more often. Brilliant to see/listen to. ❤
If we go off players stories and accounts he’s down to earth, but volatile at a moments notice
And a fierce competitor
But over the years and the last few seasons at United, the spark inside him seemed to dwindle.
The fire in his belly was going out.
It was hard for me to accept as a child but as a young man i get it now.
I’m glad he’s found purpose in management, even if it’s not going exactly to plan
He’s still young, 38
Plenty of time to develop
😂 loved the camera panning to Roy when Rooney mentioned problems with the manager
Most underrated player to play in the premier league doesn’t get the respect he deserves 💯
Brilliant. I would love to see you have Van Persie on sometime to get his views on his time with Arsenal, then Fergie and his departure, then Van Gaal and stories that he might have as well
Absolutely here for Roy Keane and the way he is building up Wayne Rooney 👏
Great opportunity to Hear Wayne’s mind set and Career.. As an Evertonian I wish him all the best for his Future and Life in General 👍🤝
Keano being supportive and stepping up is beautiful.
The newcastle goal for me was amazing to see. He was mid conversation or argument with the referee looks up sees the ball dropping runs onto it bang one of the best volleys you will EVER SEE.
