Kenchoji-temple
Kenchoji (建長寺, Kenchōji) is the number one of Kamakura's five great Zen temples. The oldest Zen temple in Kamakura, Kenchoji was founded by the ruling regent Hojo Tokiyori in 1253 .
This temple was build as a symbol of the samurai’s
spiritual independence from the old powers of Kyoto.
Although considerably smaller than during its heydays, Kenchoji Temple is the top of the five great Rinzai temples of Kamakura. It was built by Hojo Tokiyori in 1253, as a symbol of the samurai’s spiritual independence from the old powers of Kyoto. Its principal buildings, the Somon, Sanmon, Butsuden, and Hatto, are lined up in a Chinese temple layout. Almost of them are listed as Japan’s Important Cultural Properties. The approximately 730 year old Chinese junipers in front of the Butsuden allow one to feel the temple's rich history. And you will see the Beautiful Landscape of harmony of temple building and nature from The Hansobo at the far end of the compounds.

1月前に鎌倉へこしてまいりました。早速建長寺へ出かけました。このビデオを拝見して、更に興味深くお寺巡りができそうです。ありがとうございました。ただ、バックの音楽の音量をもう少し調節してくださると聞きやすくなると思います。

北鎌倉の台地区に住んで、約３０年経ちますが、健長寺に行った事がありません(笑)…(((^_^;)💦
わかります。案外近くにいると、なかなかいかれませんよね。北鎌倉にお住まいなら、歴史派ー建長寺、自然派ー円覚寺、お花が好きー東慶寺、が、まずはおすすめです。一度訪れてみて下さいませ。
