- What do you expect out of a boondocking area? This has it all for us. In this video, we explore the Nevada desert just outside of Fallon, Nevada. Boondocking next to a beautiful lake with an abundance of bird watching and endless travel by bike on back roads is exactly why we love the RV lifestyle. The outdoor adventure is endless here near Indian Lakes, Nevada, and we plan to explore it all. Come along as we take a bike ride around the lake and watch some amazing birds during our morning coffee lake side.
Welcome to DestinationOpenRoad! We are Scott & Teri. We live full-time in our Heartland Big Country 29.50 5th wheel. We have recreational property in Washington state that we sometimes go to to get off the road for 1 to 3 months. We create and share videos of our lives as full-time RV travelers.

Do you have a regular house? No, after being on the road for 5 years, we sold our traditional home.
How old are you both? Scott ~ Baby Boomer 10/21 / Teri ~ GenX 05/24
How old is Punkin, and where did you get her? Born Sept 4, 2014. We adopted her from the Yuma Az Animal Shelter. We are her 4 family and her forever home.
Will you ever move back into a home? Maybe, but not any time soon.
Have you ever done anything like this before? Yes, we lived on a 1947 30' Wooden Monk Boat.

Really nice video. Your electric bikes look like a lot of fun! I’m not the most confident person on a bicycle but watching you both has encouraged me to test ride one. I love how Teri warns to be careful of pokey things and soft mushy spots on the trail. You are a lovely thoughtful couple!

This spring I flying by so fast.
I grew up on the lake in Umatilla, Florida, not Umatilla, Oregon, but in the winter, the white pelicans would come my mom would be washing dishes, looking out at the lake saying I love the pelicans❤❤ hope to see you guys on the road. You’re doing a great job Terri and Scott, of course and punky too have a great holiday. It’s hot here in Florida pet sitting two cats the ladies in the rehab she might be coming home today, though give her some prayers she broke her femur 🦴

There could be Snakes and Ticks in the tall Grass.
We definitely stay out of the tall grass, the mosquitoes are crazy here.
Gosh it's beautiful there. Can you look at Google Earth / maps to get an idea of the roads and pathways in that area. Always take more water than you think you need, especially in areas where it's hot. Loved biking with you guys in this video. Take care.
We use Google Earth all the time, sometimes it's hard to know how soft the road maybe.
I live in Portland Oregon I’d love to meet you guys someday in a meet up if you ever have one hopefully you will again. I remember you used to do them over think it was Washington or something like that I never got to go though I didn’t have a RV but now I do have a van. Safe travels guys as you work your way I think back up to Washington.

I can see when on the bikes it would be easy to JUST go a little bit further..to see what's around the next curve..THANKS for sharing.

I'm back on the Oregon coast watched a Blue Heron fishing/eating fish in the tide pools and Turkey Vulture many unknown others on the beach this morning lets go crabbing!!!
I can sit and watch the wild life for hours. And crabs steaming in a pot.

Y'all are in my home town Fallon, Nv...Likes Lake aka Indian Lake use to be such a wonderful place to camp.... But unfortunately the Tweakers have moved out there and trashed it... Personally I'm afraid to go out there... Wish y'all had gone to Lahontan Lake...a much nicer area...anyways I would have loved to be able to meet y'all... Safe journey home...😎
We haven't seen anything like that out here, but we also haven't explored the entire area. Very sad when that happens to such a beautiful place.
