Great finds sir. I am hoping my fractured leg is healed enough that this spring I can get out to my grandfather's old farm here in Southern Indiana in a former Indian area called Maumee and do some hunting. He used to find them all the time in his field when he would disc which is next to a very small creek just full of rocks and such and surrounded by hunting lands. Deer, turkey, coyotes, everything lives there and I'm assuming the Indians hunted much of that area. I bought the book you recommended. Great book, but a little overwhelming to this old man.. 😂. I have a lot to learn..
Great idea to price those funds. I think it will help your channel I bet because people love to know this stuff and you sir are a jewel and have a great channel . I need to visit W Virginia some day. I'm not that far away, but just never had a reason to go, but seeing your geography makes me want to visit and see the beautiful hills...
God speed to you and yours.

I hate videos where they always tell to value of everything they found. I feel like this entices people to hunt for the wrong reasons. You did a very good job on this by telling what you would take. The best line in your video is when you said, "I don't sell any of my finds." I am right there with you on this. I sold a nice relic over 30 years ago and have hate that decision ever since. Happy Hunting.

Love this video! I get so annoyed when someone posts an arrowhead they found, and their only question is “how much is it worth”? They’re in the wrong hobby if that’s all they care about, also, rarely does the monetary value even come close to the historical value of these amazing artifacts. You have the best UA-cam channel going Scott, appreciate what you do!

A friend in Bowling Green Ohio had one of the largest arrowhead in the US!! Wood county was a great place to find after the farmers plowed the fields! A lot of sand in that area but the size of some them was incredible. He died Swahili ago and didn’t keep contact with him throughout the years!! His name was Wes Dolittle! Yep that’s his name. He hunted for the arrowheads back in the 70’s 80’s! I bet they collection was worth north of 50k

Sad to say it Scott but I had to sell some of mine. My heart will always have cracks from those sales. But they did go to one of Colorado's biggest collector's and Authenticator. Most are kept in his personal collection but he did sell some on his Ebay store. I do get to view what he kept whenever I want. (Want to cry that is). He has become a good friend and has always told me I could buy them back. Now I just wonder how much of my collection will end up in the trash when I pass. Many a artifact is nothing more than just a rock to some people (Like my son in law). Glad to know that my daughter know's enough to understand the love I have for this hobby and some artifacts will be cherished. Time is ticking and we can't take it with us. Great video Scott. Have you investigated Powhatan Point..... the location is would be the most logical place for a fort. I looked at it on google maps and it looks artificially flattened. Moundsville, i believe, is more historically significant than people give it credit for. Also important, but to a lesser extent, the ancient flood plains of New martinsville, Paden City, Sistersville, Friendly, and Bens run. They would be PERFECT locations for small pockets of human development. They would be easily defensible and far enough from other inhabitable land, that culture could development unmolested by outsiders. I think these locations were crucible of cultural development and it was washed away by the river. Just some thoughts... Do you know anything about the Dodridgde giants and the solid gold statue found in New Martinsville?
