- Political journalist Ava Santina says UFC great Conor McGregor being investigated over a social media post sets a dangerous precedent.
Irish police are reportedly investigating Mr McGregor’s social media posts following concerns about rising hate speech online after the riots in Dublin.
Riots have engulfed the country following the stabbing of five people in Dublin, among them three children, allegedly by an immigrant who was meant to be deported years ago, but was then granted citizenship.
Conor McGregor is someone who likes to put himself in the middle of everything,” Ms Santina told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.
“The thing that concerns me … is that to Tweet something and then be investigated for it frightens me because it’s setting a quite dangerous precedent.
Perhaps Conor McGregor speaks the views of a majority in Ireland. There’s a hell of a lot of people supporting his comments.

However, after a judicial review in the High Court his deportation order was revoked. Sources said in 2008 the Department of Justice granted the man leave to stay in Ireland. One said: "He was due to be deported 20 years ago, but fought the order for five years. He eventually obtained an Irish passport”

We know about his deportation order, the fact he has never worked a day in his life since getting here. But what we're not being told, what is being kept quite, is the fact that in May this year he was arrested by Gardai, near the city center, for possession of a knife. He was taken before a court and set free without any order being made against him. Had he being jailed, or fined, it may havestopped him carrying out the attack.

I'm born and bred Irish man, I can tell you for a fact the Irish government don't give 2 shits about the Irish people, they are not vetting a single person coming into this country, they are handing them houses cars and money while Ireland is in a housing crisis where Irish people who have jobs are homeless. The price of housing is at an all time high and we are getting no help while refugees get everything. Immigrants who come to this country who are working hard and have got jobs feel the exact same way, the government are now also trying to censor us like the Canadian government because we are protesting. Immigrant here. I am professional worker, I pay high taxes, and crazy rent. I have been here for many years, during all these years life have been hard in many ways but I have been able to contribute with my knowledge and grow as a person.( not economically to be fair). from all the countries I have lived in in Europe I found that living with irish was good. Irish do not judge, do mind their own business and do not make you feel different. there have been always boundaries between irish and immigrants that I believe we both have respected. However after many years now, teenagers are starting to approach me in city center trying to pick a fight. When Irish state that they do not like immigrants they do no discriminate between working people and people that live from the system. Facebook, Amazon, Google and all those companies that brought wealth to this country, need immigrants, a lot of them. I can promise you that if those companies are gone, and the tax paradise in Ireland is gone, then will be no immigrants in Ireland very quickly. so this is a very good solution to solve the immigration problem's, and is start taxing the companies that come to Ireland. if Irish ask the government to tax those companies, t hose companies will leave super fast, and immigrants will leave faster.
During the pandemic .. many of those companies allowed employees to work remotely, and then the renting drop drastically, but all those people had to come back to Ireland, because the government wanted them to be in Ireland to spend money buying food, and using the services so the economy could keep growing.

I'm Irish (born 1968 in Dublin). Lived here apart from 3 years in Ontario, Canada. My ex-wife was Canadian. An element of gourier Irish society took exception to her not being Irish and subjected us both to threats, attempted assault, property damage, intimidation and assorted criminal intent.
