Well, given that the Chinese own the port of Piraeus, it would make sense that the next logical step would be to link southeastern Europe with the rest of the EU, in this case by eventually going through Hungary, Serbia and North Macedonia, as it is the most direct route.
When you work with China, you have development progress (Serbia for example); When you team with US and NATO, you have war and destruction (Ukraine for example). This is the huge difference.
Nato is the only thing hindering Putin from attacking all of Europe. If this is how he treats his fellow neighbors with similar language and culture. Then imagine when Putin invades China. Don´t trust him and don´t support him!
Shouldn’t be a problem to build the high speed railway. Serbia is a small country only about 200 miles long. It will help them integrate with the rest of Europe. More trade and tourism.

It's nice to see there's a new and improved railway connection. I.truely hope it will benefit the local economies without too much political intervention (as well of course it would be good as the investments will be earned back at least for those countries).
I've been travelling to Yugoslavia by train in the 1980's when I was still a teenage boy. And I did it again a few years ago as a senior man with my beloved wife. It shook me to tears too see how much the railway system in that part of europe had deteriorated. Now there is finally a silver lining on the horizon. As it looks, it took the chinese and the renegate hungarians to help Serbia out of this misery. As far as the EU goes - wonder if they ever did ANYTHING exept intervene in domestic political affairs.

But the love and search of the american way of life deteriorated faaar too much the railways companies there. Also, why will the Belgrade-Budapest only go at 200km/h? I feel it as a missed opportunity tbh but hey. Better this than nothing. Perhaps will it be a positive side of the ukrainian conflict seeing how both russia and ukraine are reliant on their rail infrastructure.
Stadler is from Switzerland and not from China. The Stadler Kiss Trains are great modern trains and they are used in many other European countries including Russia
