He would need to be the #5 pick or higher in the NFL draft for his first year rookie salary to exceed $6M. Is he going to be the #5 pick in the draft? Probably not. He might be the third or fourth best QB, but the top five teams don't all need a QB.
I don't see the issue here? It's actually smart. Ewers does not have good prospects at the NFL if he came out this year. Him transferring and playing for $6 million while improving himself and his stock is American capitalist. I don't see why anyone would be mad at this?
My head explodes listening to Rob who knows nothing. Gymnastics have some of the highest nil deals in history. So no it's not just basketball and football.
Nil needs no regulation if he going to regulate anything. Regulate the whole tournament. It's just a money Ponzi scheme but you guys always focus on the players
Stop calling it college football, and start calling it professional (minor league) football. These players are neither amateurs nor student-athletes. They are paid "mercenaries" masquerading as college students.
Do these guys not realize that what they are talking about is illegal & what hit the NCAA in trouble to begin with. The ONLY way you can set up any rules pertaining to salary & many of the other things they are talking about is for the players to have representation in the form of a union & have that collectively bargained otherwise it’s an antitrust violation.
exactly. And they can't make the players form union. The players have to decide on the union and each school would need to decide on there own. Each state has different laws on unions too. When the free market operates freely people become communists when it is advantageous to their favorite team.
The old NCAA system was found unconstitutional. This is what the media, which is shocking because Rob claims to be a reporter, don't get. The old system cannot be brought back or any kind of regulation because players can now make money off of their likeness. The only thing the NCAA can do is change the transfer portal, but I have a feeling if that happens it's going to open another c an of worms where that's going to get challenged as well.

There needs to be some sort of cap on players, there needs to be some sort of parameters as far as eligibility. It's a clown show in the wild west.
What regulation? We don't regulate how much coaches should make? The dude from Notredame just signed a $80 million dollar deal to coach. So why shouldn't the players get as much money in their prime years? Quinn Ewers could be out of football within 3 years. Let him make his life changing money now.
@@christianjames92 First off, Quinn is a rich kid from a rich family. So that argument doesn't make any sense. By all means, give a 21 year old kid 50 million, see what happens.
