In this video we will learn about the how to refine the cylindrical power with Jackson cross cylinder and how to maintain the spherical equivalent to drag the circle of least confusion on the retina.
But you have to watch all the videos regarding Jackson cross cylinder link is given below.

I truly love your video...really demystifies JCC for me. I would like to know how to get this exact trial frame and JCC.
Thankyou 🌸
You can purchase this online and from any instruments shops..dear
This was a big help to get to 20/20.
Thank you for suggesting this.
Currently perfect, with no glasses.
Sir , What's the reason behind to do spherical equivalent after JCC ? Spherical equivalent means we are avoiding cylinder right then after JCC spherical equivalent why cylinder power written?
Diffrence of Spherical equivalent in JCC and actual SPHERICAL equivalent.
Watch these videos
You would be clear.

In JCC we perform this spherical equivalent like process due to maintenance of the strums conoid, to drag the circle of least confusion on the retina.
@@optometrywithkhurram6867 tq sir
Thank you Sir
So nice of you
Thanku sir
Hi , sir I have a doubt , what if I found bestvision sphere -0.50 after jcc test I found -1.00cyl . Which is the best prescription ? -0.50 sp -1.00 cyl or -1.00cyl
In jcc for power refinement why would we put axis of jcc parallel to trail cylinder axis ? And not the handle of jcc for this ?
Plz ans this
Thank you
Zara the logic is so simple ...
In power refinement , we align axis of jcc with axis of trial cyl because we have to find the exact cylindrical power of patient,
If trial cyl is minus, and when we align minus line of jcc on minus line of trial cyl the power would be doubled so we will do same thing until our patient gets maximum vision.
And when we need to decrease the power we will align plus line of jcc with minus line of trial cyl until we get maximum vision again.
Sir what if patient accept position 2. ???
Sir how can we differentiate that is patient has minus cylinder or plus cylinder?or we always suggest minus cylinder??
A Patient will prefer both axis plus and minus at 90° apart axis ...it's your choice to prescribe him plus cyl at a given axis or minus cyl at 90° apart.
Minus cyl always preferred globally.
@@optometrywithkhurram6867 ok i understand, thank you
Please sir link for the previous video you mention God bless you.
Please check the description of this video ..all the links regarding JCC videos are given
@@optometrywithkhurram6867 thank you so much sir and please sir i have a question that has been bothering me about hand neutralisation Retinoscopy with plain mirror and concave mirror though concave mirror to me look similar to hand neutralisation if may be you can help me and explain it more clear the similarities between the three and also their differences and the theories behind each i will appreciate it sir thank you once again i am a student of optometrist too.
So what is the importance of of spherical equivalent here?
To add half of cyl into spherical to keep circle of least confusion on the retina.
sir you said add half of cylinder to spherical with OPPOSITE SIGN but in other video title as why spherical equavalent is zero of JCC? you didnt change sign to algebrically add it to sphere........I think we dont change sign of cylinder to algebrically add it to sphere .....and if i am wrong please correct ..thanks for wonderful explanation of JCC
Dear..
You raised a very good question, at this point students make mistakes,
Listen carefully
"ADD HALF OF CYL INTO SPHERICAL" but in case of Spherical equivalent of any prescription we always add half of cyl into spherical buy with same sign.
And in the PROCEDURE of JCC, in last step of JCC which is called RULE OF THUMB, we always add half of cyl into spherical with opposite sign.
I have recorded 3 vidoes on this query, you can watch, or if you still didnt understand, I will make a new compiled video.
@@optometrywithkhurram6867sir, I corrected my mistake thanks for your precious time
@@zubaidamalik4641 good. I made a new video for you..and I mentioned your comment in my video..video will be uploaded on UA-cam at 6 pm..
Enjoy.👍
